- This is the first 13 minutes of Black Myth Wukong. The opening moments of Black Myth: Wukong features a battle of the gods where Wukong fights in the clouds. This gameplay was captured on an Nvidia 4090 GPU with an AMD Ryzen 9 5950x and 64 GB of RAM. We've selected the Chinese menu option here, but have also uploaded a version of this video in the English language should you prefer that choice instead.

Chinese dub is way better. The voice actor has a deeper voice but also hits the higher notes. Wukong is both a trickster that trolls the gods and one of the most powerful warriors ever. Chinese dub actually conveys both strength and his sly nature.

@@pquumm adding to your point, the Chinese voices display more emotion and gravitas like Erlang having that pompous attitude and Wukong's sing-song speech patterns, such that even the attacking and hurt grunting sounds convey more exertion than the English ones.

It really grinds my gears that people are saying "Chinese dub". This is a Chinese-developed game in Chinese Mythology. English is the dub. Chinese is original.

Are you saying it's badly translated, or that it's intentionally 'dumbed down', and translated in a less literary way? Because if it's the latter, it's probably not the translator's fault, but he was told to translate it into 'simple English'.
@@jonirischx8925 Well, the dialogues are complex even for the Chinese gamers as reported by many Chinese gamers on Steam and Wegame. Although, Game Science claims to use Simplified Chinese but many words from Traditional Chinese are also used which literally are impossible to translate even by greatest translators except the script writer.

The Chinese spoken here is old classical Chinese. It is not often heard outside of classical Chinese operas or shows today
The English equivalent will be Shakespearean/Olde English
@@bean5022 It's an old language thing, same thing with old English you see in games like Elden Ring, traditional Chinese are used here. Technically, they have the same meaning as modern language, but the context and expression are so much more impactful that modern language is hardly converted meaningfully.
If they make lore accurate Sun Wukong this fight will be over before it even begins. He was fighting celestial armies in heaven for fun there is a reason he is called the great Sage equal to Heaven. Gonna buy the game.

He is facing off Erlang Shen whom bested him once before, he also wreck havoc on heaven long before wukong did.

With help of his 6 brothers and other celestial warriors along lao tzu who trapped him erlang was able to defeat so he was not alone they were equally match even though wukong had the upperhand before other immortals came in but in his defence erlang fought wukong the most and he did the final blow even with the help of other warriors so maybe we can considered him defeated wukong just like how
luffy defeated kaido even though he had so many helps but luffy did most of the foght and the finishing blow so maybe this is victor for erlangen even though if this was 1v1 wukong win this high - extreme diff

This is how this game should be played: in CHINESE dub with English sub.
Originally, after completing the journey to the west, wukongs golden headband was removed, whats it doing on his head again lol
They literally showed the headband disappearing in this video so it’s clearly part of the story
They clearly put it on him so Yang jian could win this fight
In some stories, after the headband got removed, he would still get somewhat milder headaches whenever someone tried to activate his headband.

Game of the summer. Game of the Year. This take the crown 👑. The Intro is masterpiece already. Hopefully after wukong (which is very successful), they show other heroes or deities that has their own tale in Black myth.

There's a lot of nuances in the language that the English translation is unable to carry over, the Chinese voice is definitely the way to go
