- Always felt the Mazda 3 was lacking in power, so I decided to get a Mazdaspeed 3 and put it to the test.
2008 Mazdaspeed 3 with full bolt ons and a BNR S3 on 91.

As a Speed 6 owner that had a PCV valve blow recently, the oil level check hit me.
Now I feel like I dont check the oil on my gen2 speed 3 enough

Dude 17psi on a cst4 I can't use 2nd wot, just spins em. problem is, 3rd below 4500 wot will misfire, too rich of a tune.

Fire ass car, was checking this car out for a daily to my g37 coupe. But I believe they burn oil just like a g35 smh
Most of them burn oil with age from what I've seen. Luckily it's cheap!
I have 137k on mine and doesn't burn any oil. It's how the vehicle was driven and maintained.
I have a 2010 and it burn oil even if it’s stock
From my experience, almost all turbo'ed motors use oil to some extent (blow by). Especially if you drive it hard. Take care of your maintenance and your car will take care of you.

Just bought me a maroon 2008 automatic though buts it boosted with a exhaust system I'm gonna build mine up kinda like this beautiful man and I live in AZ too out by south mountain let's go out driving sometime !
If my knowledge serves me correct, 'speeds (3 and 6) only came with a manual tranny. I'd save the effort and $ building a N/A Mazda and buy/build an actual 'speed.
@@theanti-come the normal 3's also came with a 5 speed, i daily one. but i agree its not worth boosting the N/A motor. at that point sell the normal 3 and save up a few grand to buy a speed3 for the turbo motor
Just be careful about the Boosted exhaust system, cuz it can cause danger to manifold.

Oil catch can, turbo drain pipe, and a new turbo and you wont have any issues from the turbo again

My 09 speed just hit 100k stock turbo and it dont burn a lick of oil. Only thing i dont like is the fuel diution in the oil

@@1188clean Yes. The engines in 'speeds are direct injected, which can cause condensation in the oil if you short trip them frequently, like me. My 6 gave me quite a scare when the PCV valve clogged and made my oil look like a chocolate milkshake.
Mines just hit 195k on original engine I got the mishimoto catch can kit for my 09 gen2 to help with the dilution and it works sweet as

What is it with speeds and burning oil?!
The oil to the turbo increases in psi with rpm you make. When you get on it hard, oil pushes past the turbo seals and dumps into the exhaust, it leaves a nice trail of smoke. Of course, there are aftermarket oil pressure regulator kits that solve the problem by limiting the pressure to the turbo (something like 40 psi) and dump the rest back into the oil pan.

eBay catless downpipe and HKS 3in exhaust. The HKS exhaust includes a resonator and a muffler, so it could be louder if those were removed.
@@bradobear Any problems fitting the catless downpipe? i know ebay parts sometimes dont fit quite right. could you link the part too if possible?
