This video is such a blessing! I'm a visual learner as well, and I can't tell you what a difference it made in my understanding of zoom ranges and apertures. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video for us. I'm sure all the editing and lens swapping was a lot of work!
The most helpful video I've seen on lenses on the whole of UA-cam! Thank you so much!
I took one photography class in school and this is definitely a great refresher.
This was exactly the video I was looking for! Brilliant! Thank you! 🙏❤️
Thanks for doing this video, Milly! So many people don't like to share their tips, so this is amazing for you to do in the beauty space!!!!
Love you ❤️🥺
This was such a great idea!!! I am so confused on lenses and I appreciate this so much!!❤️❤️
Can’t wait for the photo video. I always love how your eye shots look!
This is such a helpful guide! Sigma one has been on my wishlist for the longest but your video actually got me thinking of the Canon 18-135 instead..
What you're using now has so much clarity! You're absolutely right, and your advice is great about the investment.
Thank you !!
This is so incredibly helpful! I’ve been so lost and you just explained this so well, I actually learned something! Thank you so much for this video! ❤️❤️❤️
So happy to hear!
Thank you so much for doing this video! I’m trying to decide between the canon sl3 and the M50 and this video really helped me figure out what I need for my channel!
I was just looking at different lenses and saw your video! So well timed!! Really look forward to seeing how you take your pictures!
Haha what a happy coincidence!
I'm so glad you're doing this! I just subbed to Skillshare for photography classes and got a used DSLR/kit lens. I'm so excited but a little overwhelmed too.
By far the best video I've seen about this. Sooooooooooooo helpful.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing such an informative video on recommended lenses to use. It’s so helpful and much appreciated :)
Wow! You have some incredible kit! This was so helpful! Thank you for making this video 💖
So happy you found it helpful!!
Reminder: My crop sensor camera films un-cropped at 4k so none of these lenses have the crop factor shown in this video. When looking for a lens while filming on a crop sensor camera just make sure you are multiplying the Xmm by 1.6. I also left some resources in the description box.

So if I go for Sony Zv-e10 will a 70 mm lense give a zoom of 70mmx 1.6?
WOW thank you so much for posting this!
Thank you SO MUCH for this!!! I have a Canon M50 and I'm just using the stock lens it came with and I could definitely use some recommendations
Same here! I film with exactly the same!
The m50 is a great mirrorless camera!
@@badtothebrow I agree, I love it! But I am thinking about a different lens because I film a lot of eyeshadow looks and the lens it comes with distorts my face quite a bit when I try to get closer
This video was so helpful! I would really love recommendations on accessories like tripods and light/flash diffusers. Can't wait for the photo version!!! I just got a 60mm macro lense and I'm deep in that learning curve 😵💫
I love learning about lenses!!!!
i just bought a canon m50 with a 18-150 mm lens so this was awesome!! thank you
This was so helpful and informative!! I have the Canon 50mm f/1.8 STM- that's typically the one I film with and it's my favorite. But for shots where I need to have a little more versatility I use the 18-55mm STM. I def have a lot to learn about my Canon. There's so much to it I don't know lol Great video Milly!!
Thanks Michelle!
OMG thank you so much for this video!!
Very, very helpful. Thank you so much!
Yasssssss!!!!!!!!! So here for this one!!!!!
Thank you so much for this video Milly!!! I am new to YT and still film just in my iPhone 11pro but I hope one day to upgrade.
I used to help out at weddings but it’s been years and I have forgotten most of this so it was exciting to see this and I want to explore this further, even if I cannot afford to buy anything right now. So educational ❤️. Thank you!!!!!!
By the way, I love your channel and Instagram and I discovered you through out mutual friend, Rupy Minhas 😁
Thank you for this. I have a canon rebel t6i and I use the lense with it but I’ve been looking for macro lenses for super up close lenses.
This was definitely helpful
Love the new background!!
Thanks Yadi!
Loved it!
This was such a great and informative video!!!!!! I was looking for more information on what lens to get for my canon EOS 80D for makeup videos!!
I'm so glad it was helpful!
@@badtothebrow I’m going to be looking into my settings and playing around with it now to make sure I can get the best out of my lens as possible. Great and helpful video!!!! ❤️
Damn this was informative!! Thank you❤️
Perfect timing, just opened the youtube app to watch as I rock Levi to sleep 🤗
What is your favorite talking head focal length with a nice creamy bokeh background? Also what are your distance from the background and from the camera?
Great video!!
Hi Milly! Loved this video, super helpful. What was the last camera you mentioned that is good for close up action at 20:42? Thank you!
It’s the 100mm lens, not camera
@@badtothebrow Thank you!
This is so informative and helpful! Can the canon 100mm be used for beauty videos?
Yes of course, I use it to film my eyeshadow tutorials
@@badtothebrow what about for the whole transformation? Would the camera be too far back for just the face frame
Well then since i have the camera, the 18-55mm that came with it and the little nifty fifty I should be looking on how to use everything to start my own channel! No more excuses! Hahaha!!!
I have the Sigma 18-35mm and I love it however I definitely feel like it does not zoom in enough... I might have to look into the Canon 18-135mm lens.
Do you have your camera connected to screen on your desk? I tried setting mine up with my mac but it did not really work 😓
I don’t because I have the 90D and it’s been impossible to find an hdmi cord to connect to my Mac. Are you connecting via wifi?
@@badtothebrow Ahh I see! I have the 80D - i tried connecting via wifi but I was having issues. I haven’t been able to find a hdmi cord either - I might have to try the wifi option again.
My problem is my filming space is small. Maybe 8 feet wall to wall.
I’d like to be able to film intros and eye looks. Which lens do you think would be best Milly?
Either the 50mm or 18-55mm
Thanks for sharing ❤, others sell this guide for more 150$ !!
What bit rate have you exported your video
Sony sigma 30mm f1.4 beauty yes?))) no?
