14.5 -15v max is ideal. I run all my stuff radios and amps on 15v. I build lots of radios an have keyed them for Hours solid no failure no drop in power.
I key my chrome that you did up at 15.2 volts and its been bad ass for just about a year it runs all my amps from my little mosquito modulator all the way to my big steel tube box.. i need to call you to have you do a radio up all i want done is to be able to dead key say 2 watts and be able to swing 15-20 bird and to have vfo wind up thats all i need in it .. kinda looking for a nice used radio been watxhing all roosters video til i see the one that catches my eye.. hope all is well take care Gump and Rooster... your friend WOODCHCUCK
I did a video on a Philippines 25 that Gump did. It did about 30 peak on 13.8 v and 7.5 avg. On 14.5v it gained around 5 watts peak and 1 watt average. That radio is now in my mobile being used. Not a big difference really, no vfo windup though.

What would u charge to replace a swr meter light on a ole general lee and is there a way I can tell if it’s been peaked and tuned ? I assume it has been bc it was converted to cb before I got her
Galaxy DX 949, has echo and talkback but talkback has been disabled because of echo. This sound right? I also get a weird humming/feedback noise coming through the mic sometimes when i key up. A silent squeal is present sometimes that can only be "tuned" out by turning mic gain down to about 5/8-3/4 way. Cb has been checked by tech and said it was fine. New coaxil, mount, bracket and antenna. No linear. Any thoughts?
Your almost always going to get some feedback with talk back because the mic is too close to the radio. The radio sounds fine to me if a tech said it was.

Well I'm glad you asked. A lot of my customers use large tube amplifiers that require you to manually tune them. The most common way to tune them is to "audiiiiooooo" into the microphone to achieve maximum output while adjusting each tuner. In this case the customer would need to know what the maximum output of the radio is for "drive" purposes. How do we find maximum output? Well you can use a tone generator or audio into the microphone

It is not designed to effect the overall output of the radio but the dead carrier, which it effectively does ranging from 0 watts to 7 watts deadkey. Watch the video, pay better attention next time. Let me say that one more time since you obviously have a hard time understanding. The original rf gain adjusts the receive. That function has been disabled, since most people run it wide open. It has now been changed to an RF POWER which increases and decreases the resting carrier or deadkey. Top end is effected very little if at all. Sometimes it's better just to keep your comments to yourself, unless you want someone to measure your intelligence based off your comments. Based off of your comment I'd place you at the bottom of the spectrum.

I think it would be interesting to compare a grumped up 25 with the 29 and see if there is a significant difference.

It's a different measurement of power, more closely related to percentage of modulation
P.S. prefer to retain RF gain and sacrifice the delta tune for echo instead . 73

It's possible. More current means more watts. It's not going to be a big difference. Makes sense to me.

Yeah he's just creating a tone to see what the maximum output is and it will vary some but there should be a consistent average and peak power output.
