Absolutely phenomenal and well worth the wait (though I only discovered the first comp mere months ago!). I won’t front, I wasn’t aware of Vol. 1 when it initially dropped, so I can’t comment on the impact it had, but I CAN say that when I discovered it this past summer, I had to stop what I was doing to sit down and just take a breath because it was so overwhelmingly my kind of shi-. Good comps are hard to come by in the streaming age of algorithms and playlists, but it’s clear that Cavestar has the wherewithal and the taste to still make a statement like this. Here’s hoping the tradition continues because Critical Mass 2 is absolute 🔥
No doubt a great album... i just wish the majority of tracks were 'instrumental' minus vocals..... the immersion experience completely changes when there are vocals vs pure instruments... if you make a 3rd which I hope you do... please make it 80% non-vocal Great stuff!
