All the panachee trees i have seen all looked like very strong trees.
I am a Fig nut too. I have 11 trees in 15 gal pots a4 in the ground, thank you for all the info. when I
saw your fig forest when l saw your Fig forest I
I loved it
soooo cool!
I heard the original fig tree was an Italian tree named FLORINDA by Francesco Lorusso named after his daughter
Rimada means "variegated" in Spanish and Catalan, while Panachée means "variegated" in French. They are synonyms. Pons calls this Bordissot Blanca Rimada. monserratpons.com/variedad/SMN038IB/ It is a sport of Mallea (Fraga) and is indistinguishable at the genetic level. The important thing to note is that it is not the same as Coll de Dama Rimada, which is later in the season but superior. monserratpons.com/variedad/SMN067IB/
I like it being called Panache (Sounds like panash) so much better than Panachee (panashay). Panashay just sounds douchey to me for some reason, haha. It is a delicious fig, though.
Lol. I thought the same. I’ve never heard them pronounced like that and there a tons of fig growers around me here in the Central Valley of California. I find it similar to someone with the last name “Chavez, who says it’s pronounced cha-vay” lol. Maybe everyone around me doesn’t know the proper pronunciation.
It’s a lot fancier sounding but I think it’s good to call it by the original name
This was the first fig I owned and tasted. I’m in southern Cali so it has done great. Thanks for the knowledge and tips Ross 👍🏽
I’m having issues not getting fruit. Any suggestions, I live in coastal San Diego
Tim Yackle I’m not sure, The one I have came from Dave Wilson and it had some fruit in it when I got it. But I did hear somewhere that if you have a newer variety that it may take two season to fruit from a cutting.
I need more information.
How about a video about the commercial varieties that you’re planning on growing?
Just got my striped fig and it’s beautiful ❤really great flavor indeed. Personally I rank it among the best of the best.
I am in Zone 9b..with lots of rain during the summer...so I guess not an option for me.
Stay away.
I live in 9A in North Florida and plant all my figs in the ground on a mound and cover the bases of my trees with plastic with mulch over it to keep the daily rains from overwatering my fig trees I also have a drip system to control how much water and nutrients they receive.
nice lookin fig
Very nice plants ,good luck always ,greetings from Indonesia
Thanks for visiting!
Where is this place located
Are they self pollinating?
Yes. 👍
I live in California zone 9B kern county California Ashley, hot dry. I’m thinking about buying more of those trees. Will it grow good here

I just save my cardboard boxes and I will just cover the dirt in the pot with some cardboard when it rains.
