Usually it’s one treatment, but you want to go somewhere good and reputable. Some people have had problems getting burns from chemical peels. There’s also something called a PLANT PEEL which I have super sensitive skin, and had it done, and it was very nice 👍

Please please please go see an endocrinologist and get your hormone levels checked and if your hormones are fine, then go get tested for food allergies or intolerances. There is something causing this acne. I am an esthetician and while peels and skincare are great and important, but there is something causing your acne. The peels might help the symptoms, but you need to figure out the root of the problem. A ton of my clients who have had severe acne found out they have hormonal imbalances or food intolerances♥️♥️♥️♥️

riley101ify I agree, I’m not a professional but I had similar acne and was told that the cheeks being the main problem area are usually indicative of hormonal acne.

Shae Annalese have you recently gotton on birth control or are you PMsing? It’s normal to experience breakouts sometimes, but if you have severe acne on your checks often, I would get it checked out. You can look up acne diagrams with causes on google images and it will explain what area you have acne in (the forehead or cheeks) and what is causing it (like hormonal, or lung problems)

My acne is all hormonal from the birth control methods I've tried. It's been almost a year on no birth control and I'm still suffering. Recently went to a dermatologist and she told me not only was it hormones ,but I was using the wrong stuff to clean and mositurize my skin. I used apricot scrub daily, shower gel, and lubriderm or vasiline lotion to moisturize. Yeah big no no she said. She perscribe me night cream that's like a mini chemical peel and oral medication. She also said only use face soaps like Neutrogena bar that say non comogenic. Also look for moisturizers that say the same like Cetaphil. 1 week of doing this and all my acne is gone.

Girl I literally just cried. I’ve been going through this for 2 years, I completely stopped doing my makeup because I let people get in my head and make me think it was my make up and that still didn’t help. I got soooo depressed to where I cried for days and never wanted to leave my house. I thought it through and convinced myself to get over it. I just started to except it, I clean my face twice a day and when I think it’s getting better I have another breakout and now I’m just like whatever it is what it is. Lbvs. Sometimes I do still get that feeling of falling back into the depressed stage and some how I snap out of it. Your video just helped me out a lot. Thank you so much.

Look into primerose oil pills you can get them at any drug store and I hear it’s good for acne(watch a few UA-cam videos about it clearing up really bad acne). Also, you won’t get this(chemical peel) done but for a cheap facials go to beauty schools that offer Aesthetician classes because the teacher is a licensed and will watch over the students also you get a lot more option for service(don’t go to just a beauty school because they only do very basic facials only school that have Licensed aesthetician). Also, have you tried to change your diet I hear dairy can make it worse. Wash your pillow cases everyday. Look into herbs that help with acne and add them in teas to drink. My ex had it bad and told me the only thing that helped him was regular soap and water because the medicine and expensive face washes did nothing he said f it and just used dial soap. If you don’t want to use dial look into mint dr. Broners soaps (it’s great for skin and acne. It’s also affordable). Again I hear great things about it.
Morning: Gentle face wash, toner, mostirizer or pure Shea butter
      Night: Exfoliate, toner, mostirizer
Once a week: Aztec mask with ACV not water mixed ACV is stronger.
Every two days: face steam over a potfor 15-20 min (add herbs for skin in pot)

I love how you even added that part about God allowing you to go through something to help someone else. It's amazing how the Lord can humble us through anything and use it for others! I've had acne for over 10 years now. It's gotten better the last few years, but it's starting to get bad again. When I was pregnant with my son, I felt like I had the best skin. Now he just turned a year old, and I feel like my acne is starting to spark up again. I'll definitely be looking into a peel to try and help some of my scars. I just had to comment on what a beautiful and genuine woman you are, inside and out! God bless you and yours! ♡

I had really bad acne and really nothing worked until my dermatologist gave me something that really changed the game. She gave me termal water, wich is basically special water in a spraying bottle and it worked wonders. It’s so gentle and refreshing and it really cleared my skin up so much. I also stopped using alcohol and soap and oil on my skin and started using less products and my skin is finally cleaned. I couldn’t be happier. Stay strong and confident, I was almost about to give up, but I found my cure and I’m sure you’ll find yours too.

NOTHING helped until I cut out dairy and started repopulating my gut by brewing water kefir. In several months my skin cleared up COMPLETELY and even my scars are almost entirely faded now with no chemical peel or ANY products. Just jojoba oil and washing with water. To all who struggle with acne, DON'T give up! Repopulate and heal your gut and cut back on dairy and I promise you will see massive results ♡♡♡ I hope this helps someone ♡♡♡

In 2012 I did 5-6 months of accurate followed by two years of tretinoin (retinol) to fade dark marks. I wasn’t acne free but I no longer got the cystic acne or their clustering of pimples. I would get “period pimples”. About three years ago face started to break out alon* the jawline which is said to be hormonal. Didn’t got back to derm because I didn’t want to do accurate again - very time consuming with questionnaires, blood work and pregnancy tests. I decided to try the 10 step Korean skin care system and it worked. The double cleanse proved to me that I really didn’t have as clean of a face as I thought. I think that is why I was breaking out because oil, makeup and grime must have been still in my face. Regular exfoliation also helped with breakouts, scarring and excess oil. You can actually do it with all American products as well. Look it up and give it a try. Stephanie Nicole, Caroline Hirons, and Jackie Aina all have good product recommendations for skincare. I still wear makeup at work daily (5x) but now if I don’t want to or if running late I don’t have. I’m not ashamed of my skin anymore.

I do many more treatments at night so I do use more than 10 products but my day time routine is about 5 products now. Check out Charlotte Cho’s website and book to get details about the routine. Literally nobody cares though or have liked me less because of it, so at this point i really dont care. Acne doesnt define you, beauty and skincare brands just tell you that in advertisements so they can get your money. No one is perfect, dont stress about it 😇 confidence igoes beyond having clear skin, perfect skin is not a requirement, they just want them $$$ baby

Oh yeah and i forgot you're 14, im now an adult and out of high school. I know kids are very critical and mean but just know they only pick on you because they have their own imperfections that they hide behind the shame they try to put on you. Im tellin you, last through high school and you're gonna be alright, people grow up and realize we all have bodies that do different things and look different. Once you're grown these things dont matter as much, hang in there kid, there's no need to be ashamed of your own body. Plus my acne simmered down a lot at about 19/20, i know you think it's not hormonal but your body has so many hormone fluctuations at your age, it will get better as your hormones settle down a bit. Lots of girls have been in your shoes and are now, you'll see. Just love yourself through it all

I got acne at about 18 years old. It took years to get it under control. I listened to every thing people suggested and even saw multiple dermatologists. Nothing worked to completely clear it but I found out that the Biotin is what was causing me to break out and I wasn't drinking enough water with it. Years later, I only drink water. I use bleaching cream to spot treat dark spots. I also use fresh squeezed lemon juice on my face to clear dark spots. It tingles but it works. I try not to pick at monthly pimples(it's hard to not touch it) but it's a habit. Try to keep my hands out of my face and make sure to change my pillowcases weekly and use paper towels to dry my face instead of a washcloth.

Do you know what type of medicine that is? And do you know about the risks from taking it over a certain amount of time?
I mean if it is helping you and you are willing to take the risks and get bloodlevels done regularly it's totally fine. But recommending a medication like this to other people without knowing their medical history is dangerous.
To see an endocrinologist is a good idea though.

vampirchen85 spironolactone is a blocker of androgen hormones which cause acne. As it blocks androgen receptors men cant use this medication as androgens are the main hormones in their bodies. You also can’t take it when pregnant as you can cause a male fetus to be exposed to less androgens and can develop female body parts. in high per doses it is used as a diuretic in high blood pressure. Major side effect is that it can affect your potassium levels in the body so docs will usually monitor that when you start the Med.

It is not just as simple and save as you descripe it.
I read, that it is used as a acnemedication in america, but it is not just for fun forbidden to use it for acne in europe.
It is easy to say it is fine to use it for that, if you don't have the medical and anatomical knowledge.
It does so much more to your body than what you descriped and can be very dangerous when it's not supervised by a doctor und controlled every few weeks.
PS: I hope this webside is as reliable as the med description sounds. I researched about in my medical list at work, but it is in german. The description, effects and sideeffects that are listet on the website are the same as in our medication list though.

I did chemical peel twice.. The 1st peel I did was in 2016.. 2nd was September this year. I've a very dry sensitive skin, acne prone. I'm also allergic to lots of things which makes my skin looks dull, with redness and patchiness esp on my cheeks and jawlines. It's awful. My current workplace aggravated my skin problems even more which is why I decided to do the 2nd session after consulting my doctor.
After the chemical peel, my skin condition improved so much that I cannot believe I can have such a healthy skin. It's far from flawless now but it is so much better than before. My doctor did a gentle version with different chemicals. Mandelic acid, and a few other things. My skin doesn't turn so flaky or peel off too visibly after the session, so I can go to work without having anyone oggling at my face. It does makes me feel a bit self conscious in a way tho because I have sort of furry looking face (the flakes) but not too badly. I didn't wear any face makeup on, never wear foundation or anything for one whole month. I just put on a really good skin care products (Eucerin) and sunscreen even when I'm inside the house. I've difficulty in resisting the urge to pull off all the tiny flakes on my face. Long story short, it worth all the discomfort. It's been more than 2 months now, my skin condition improve so much that I feel so confident to go everywhere without putting any makeup on. I didn't have major breakout, almost all the hyperpigmentation lightened up, and my complexion looks so much better. I'm really happy with the results. I'm going to proceed with dermarolling next to improve the texture of my skin even more.
personally speaking, doing chemical peel is one of the best thing I ever did for my skin. Talk to a qualified dermatologist, make sure you understand everything before proceeding with any skin treatment esp those that's involving chemicals or any invasive treatments.
Everyone have different types of skin, so the results may vary depending on your body. Everything around you internally and externally will affect the results of your skin treatment procedures (weather, pollution, your health in general). Rules of thumb; take care of yourself, you are what you eat. So eat healthily, stay hydrated. And please please please don't be too harsh on yourself if one thing didn't work out. 💜

Girl, just wanna let you know, you’re gorgeous! I’m a girl struggling with acne and acne scarring myself. Never done a chemical peel before, but I’m trying my best to do everything I can first to resolve it. I wouldn’t say my acne is as bad as some, but it’s particularly bad around my chin and mouth. Some cleansers have cleared up other problem areas, but the chin area is what doesn’t seem to completely go away.

I feel like I've followed so many youtubers over the years and it feels like everyone got rid of their acne/dark marks and the rest of us are just left to dream of clear skin. You were one of the only youtubers I ever followed that truely was confident in their acne and gave me confidence to know that I'm beautiful with and with out makeup despite of these scars. I haven't felt like I can't leave my house without makeup in over a year because of you! Now I'm also struggling just dark marks 🙄

Sis, props to you for being able to do this and share your journey. I never had acne until age 30 after becoming pregnant with twins. I had cystic acne and looked and felt like a horror movie character. It was super depressing, especially being pregnant, it was difficult to be happy and excited. As soon as they were born I did a round (5 months) of Accutane. This stopped my skin from breaking out, but I was left with hyperpigmentation and scarring. I had microdermabrasion, which did almost nothing. Next I tried Obagi products and Blue peel. That helped the scarring some, and diminished the hyperpigmentation. Years later my skin continued to improve in appearance, but I still had scarring. At the time (12 years ago) there weren’t as many options for darker skin. I came up on Fraxel laser peel, and did 3 of those, and this was the most noticeable improvement to my skin as far as scarring is concerned. I still have light scarring, but I’m much more confident and feel comfortable in my skin. It’s really about loving and accepting yourself.. imperfections and all. I want to do a vampire facial/micro needling fir the scarring, but even if I don’t, I’m ok. Hell, I’m old now anyway. 🤓😆 Blessings to you, and chin up. You are a beautiful Sista. Keep doing you. 🌟🌟💯💕💁🏽‍♀️

When I was younger I was so depressed over my acne. I had cystic acne when I was 11, one of the only kids in my class with horrible acne. Then over my sophomore year I cut out dairy products and got a dermatologist recommendation diet and facial oils and products that were recommended to use. Now I’m a Junior (high school) with the only small sweat acne and period acne. I no longer slather make up to hide my “problem”, I was insecure and worried how people would look at me and think I was a freak. Even though I’m nearly acne free now, I wish I had the same confidence that I have worked hard to gain.

Goldie G I had an instructor in beauty school who told us baby pee is great for acne-prone skin. Said to take the wet diaper and dab it on your face. Fresh, obviously. 🤣 Minus the 💩. Never tried it personally, but maybe worth a try for the brave? That woman knew her stuff. I'd guess she was maybe late 50s/early 60s? Owned her own salon for 20+ yrs. She was black, most of her clients were the same. I'm white as Casper, but I'm a curly girl. She gave me the BEST cut I've ever had. Wish I knew where she went. I just found this channel. Love it! Well-done. Educational. Intelligent. New subscriber! Completely unrelated as this is a video on skin peels...blame the ADHD. 🙃 Sorry to hijack your post, but girl needs help. I'm struggling with thinning hair. If ANYONE knows hair, it's women of color. Especially, caring for curls. I've learned tons, but I'm stuck. Most of the products I see used are just too heavy for my fine/thin hair. Current state of my mop: scalp showing at crown/temples; low- porosity; mix of 2a-3b, but remnants of 3c at my nape; dry ends; oily roots; dull; frizzy. I air dry ~ 75% of the time. I've tried so many things. Not interested in Minoxydil. Doesn't play well with psoriasis. Early 2000s was not a good look. 😨 P&G ruined Nioxin. So, that's out. Coconut oil acts like a protein (which my hair hates) and breaks me out. So, there goes that. My hair is bright red. Hot water is the enemy. Castor oil is thick and tough to shampoo out of my hair with cold water. It also pulls out my color. Shea butter gives me horrible, cystic acne. Inversion method actually does help grow your hair faster, but no new hair. Already taking hair, skin, nail vitamins containing saw palmetto. Using an iGrow every other day. Too soon to tell. Love my Wen, but I have to use actual shampoo at least once/week. Too much scalp build-up otherwise. To anyone wanting to try Wen: DO NOT BUY FROM GUTHY RENKER/TV/AMAZON. Only QVC and direct from Chaz sell his original formula. I recommend QVC. Easy-pay is your friend. 😉 What am I missing???

Awwww thank you Luv for sharing this heartfelt journey of clearing your acne. I too suffered from acne/scarring from age 11 to age 37...that's a total of 26 years!
I finally got my acne under control and my skin is 100% better. I did several things to clear my acne like; detox my liver, eat healthy, cut out dairy, and reduce my intake of sugar. My biggest culprit was to stop picking at the bumps on my face everyday and also to keep my hands off my face during the day. I went to dermatologist throughout the years and took antibiotics too for my acne and I also used retin-a gel to my help my scarring. I currently use CeraVae skin cleanser and Enchanted Waters Waffle Weave Towel to remove any dirt and makeup. My dermatologist works with a pharmacy that creates fade cream to get rid of blemishes. It consist of 4% hydroquinone and retin-a along with some other ingredients but it has cleared up all my blemishes. I got a facial peel 7 years and it helped as well. My cousin came to visit me and she hadn't seen me in 30 years. She commented on how well my skin looks...she remembered how bad my skin was over the years. Iam 54 years old now. My acne/ scars taught me that beauty is within. I believe all things heal with time patience and much love. You are a beautiful woman with a genuine good spirit that always inspires others. I apologize for this being so long. I love you and thank you for sharing your story 🌷💖🌷💖🌷💖😊😊😊

I had acne for years and it was devastating for me. Later in life you realize that there are blessings associated with acne - you have more oil that will late help your skin stay younger and also by having acne you also connect with others potentially that suffer. The one thing I would change is diet - stay away from sugars and eat more veggies - those are key. Good luck to everyone with acne - remember it will pas and be kind to yourself :D
