Invertedbirdieboi yes makes sense then if you like playing the guitar the save up and buy a better one. Hope you enjoy playing the guitar good luck bro !

Came for a review of the little gizmo, really nice device for night training. By the way, your english is so clear that a non-native english speaker like me can understand everything you say, congrats!!
It does fit in a Strat. I actually own a Strat and this Vox Amplug. Btw, i've been told this little amp sound it's best with bigger headphones but the little ones sound ok. Greetings.
Well, I think we answered Cody's question a while back ago. So, yes, it does fit on a strat, and here is the proof: ua-cam.com/video/Xkl3XrVzLQ4/v-deo.html
Yup, pretty much the exact same reason why I bought my amplug. In my case it wasn't the neighbors but family members who don't necessarily share my musical preferences..;-)
No problem I just ordered my ac30 amplug after watching this video :) Another great thing you can do with this, is that you can go to an open mic and bring just this little thing and a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter and you can plug into the PA system so you can play without having to bring a large amp.
Thanks Ulrich, I am continually amazed by this little device, I use mine more and more - I love the very quick 'time to first output' - no waiting on tubes to warm up - untangling patch cables etc. Not to mention you're free to roam about - I think a bluetooth/wireless add on would be even better
Hi there and thanks for the comment. This is good to know - I personally never tried the other versions. Good to know that this one is the allrounder amongst all of them. Thanks.
BTW: Gain is always "some kinda volume control, too"! It in fact is a primary volume control (which on the AC30 original and any other tube amp will level the amount of pre-amplification). The namely Volume control is a "master" volume to select the power amp section output - so far for the original tech concept. Thus, pre-amp Gain usually is the main control over your amps basic tone, selecting between low = clean output and high = distorted output. The power amp section tubes will only begin to break up (i.e. distort) at rather high levels of amplification (i.e. high volume). So if you want power tube distortion tone at civilized volume levels you will have to leave the pre-amplification (=Gain) set very low. (And yes, I know, that equation leaves out the plucking and strumming, the volume control of the guitar etc.). It is just that it really is no surprise or news at all that turning the gain all the way down will mute the thing completely. Just sayin'. :-)
Fantastic. I have commented on the metal one. I really want to get one now. I'm just sick of having to get told to turn my guitar down and I really want to do some night time practice. Thank god vox came up with these.
Hey Daniel, yeah, the Vox amplugs are great practicing devices. I really like the way they sound and of course, the fact that they are very handy and practical.
Stephano, okay I just tried the following: amPlug plugged into a Big Muff Pi pedal (which is connected to the guitar). It works like a charm!! Hope that helps.
Got my amPlug a few days ago, largely based on this review, so thanks! For others thinking of buying, the gain is a generic "tube" crunch, but thinner, and I just keep gain and the tone at 10, volume at 5. Not something I'd ever want to actually sound like, but for practice, it's fine. The mp3 player input is pure gold. Very helpful and fun. With a few cheap adaptor cables you can run it into an effects board and out into headphones or small speakers, which helps a lot. One issue is that it tends to slip around a bit, and fell out of my guitar's output once, so no jumping around like a rock star.
It does way more, there are tons of effects settings that can be set on 3 differant channels, press the power switch up to 3 times for either a red, orange or green lite, and there is a button on top for all kinds of effects like echo, the thing is really great , be careful when buying one though some are just 1 station for just metal, another is the one you showed and also the one I have which I like best it has Metal plus clean if you play blues, country , metal etc, than get this 1 it will say it on the box, it cost about $30 here in NY
Jonas, yes you can connect you pedals. I tried it with the BigMuff and it worked well. As far as the sound is concerned, I actually was positively surprised. But also I came is with rather limited expectations, admittedly.
Great Video and Demo Ulrich! I am a new Player and just received one of these for a Birthday present! Unlike some people below....I APPRECIATE a more through demonstration! Regards, CA =)
Thanks Carole. The critics are right, though: it was too lenghty and too rambly. But I'm not a professional reviewer, guitar player or video maker. The fact is, these things are harder to do then they look. Hindsight is always 20/20. I'm glad that this video was overall valuable to most viewers - and I know that my subsequent demo videos of the newer amplug models (have you seen those?) are in my opinion significantly better than my debut. ;-)
Well, like demonstrated in the video, you can use PC Speakers. It depends what you mean by "public" - if you want to use the amplug on a stage to entertain an audience, you would have to connect it to a regular amp. While I personally haven't tried that yet, it seems to work well based on what the other folks shared in their comments here. Was I able to answer your question?
Thanks! This looks to be a cool little accessory for practicing! Vox should add Bluetooth so you could connect it to a friends speaker if hanging out in order to play for them. BTW to the more than 500 people who gave this a thumbs down... are you upset this mini practice amp exists?
Hi Ana, it's not a stupid question at all. So, the sound you hear in the video was recorded via a condenser microphone and a program called Mixcraft. But I did NOT enhance the audio in any way, shape or form. I simply produced a .wav file which I then added to the video. I hope that answers your question - if not, please let me know.
Joe, yes - but from what I understand you can use a "converter" plug to have it hooked up to a regular amp. Again, nothing that I ever tried - but based on input I received from others.
Very nice looking SG. I just recently got the classic version of the AmPlug 2 and these little units are sweet. I think my next will be the ac 30 as I would think it be different from classic whereas the blues one I’m also considering is probably fairly similar. I really like the tone on your ac30 when the tone was about half and gain was on the higher end. That was nice sweet. Got a little brash for me with tone too high. I’ve found I can even get a nice clean tone that gets a little grit when I dig in on the green channel on my classic. I am going to get a 6’ extension cable so that I can have the amp where I want (on table in front of me with my IPAD) and not flopping around on the guitar. Thanks for review and good job.
Gobbagvooar, thanks for the comment and feedback. Come on, I got to get my bald shiny head in there for a few secs in the beginning..;-). As far as connceting a pedal, I agree that it doesn't make a whole lotta sense - however, if does work, strictly from a technical perspective. Thanks again...later
Stephen, okay, here is what I just did: I connected my I-Phone via the AUX input with the amplug. The sound quality is great AND you can mess around with the dials of the amplug as much as you want, it DOES NOT affect your aux signal in any way. Whatever you do on the amplug in terms of adjustments, only affect the guitar signal, but not the aux device,. I hope this helps.
Well IMO I don't think that it would be that bad for a beginning player, but for a more experienced player it comes down to you and your headphones that can make or break it for you. Definitely try it.
I have the Vox metal amp and it is great for playing on the road and sounds amazing! Great for apartments when rock out late at night or early morning sessions too.
Thanks, great video. It fits a strat better than Les paul. My aux doesn't work on my metal Vox, but it cranks. I recently bought a Bose color 2 and it it awesome to practice at the river or on the fly wireless. I might buy another one for fun. Thanks again.
I just thought about your question. I guess I could try plugging the amPlug direcly into a pedal and then just connect the pedal to the guitar -and see what happens. I will try that later and let you know.
James, I honestly don't know. I don't have a bass, otherwise I'd try it out and let you know. Maybe some of the viewers here will be in the position to comment on your question.
This mini amp is still better than my shit practice amp
What amp do you have?
xd Dysfunctional Kustom sound practice amp . Satchel from steel panther would say “it looks like an iPhone”
This is all I’m going to buy as I am a beginner
Invertedbirdieboi yes makes sense then if you like playing the guitar the save up and buy a better one. Hope you enjoy playing the guitar good luck bro !
SKRT thanks good luck to you too for everything
When my sister left me her guitar, she took the amp with her.
I want one of these.

What does a woman do with a guitar and an amp?

this whole video i've been distracted by that gorgeous guitar
Lol, well, thank you. It's a Gibson SG '61 reissue and it's my 'go-to' instrument.

The only place on an internet search that actually explained how the mini headphone amp is used - so very helpful! Thank you!
Glad you found it helpful - thank you for the comment.
Came for a review of the little gizmo, really nice device for night training. By the way, your english is so clear that a non-native english speaker like me can understand everything you say, congrats!!
bruno couto Thanks for the comment, Bruno.
When I hear someone play Black Sabbath while doing a review, I press "like" right away.
Cody, yes, it does fit on a Strat.
If it will plug into an amp, it'll work with this. This little map just plugs into the standard 1/4" jack.
It does fit in a Strat. I actually own a Strat and this Vox Amplug. Btw, i've been told this little amp sound it's best with bigger headphones but the little ones sound ok. Greetings.

Ulrich Peise can we use it with an acoustic guitar ?
Ulrich Peise can you get distortion on it?
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath out of nowhere. You have my respect.
+Alec Sanders Thanks man...a riff that never fails to amaze, does it?
That song isn't created by God. It's just Black Sabbath!
Not only that he plays it on a Gibson SG!
Angus young, Tommy iommi
My exact thoughts savage bloody savage 😂🤘🏼
Yup, pretty much the exact same reason why I bought my amplug. In my case it wasn't the neighbors but family members who don't necessarily share my musical preferences..;-)
Danny: There are no "built in" speakers in the amplug. You either need headphones or PC speakers.
Thank you for clarifying this!
No problem I just ordered my ac30 amplug after watching this video :)

I bought one a couple of weeks ago for practice and love it.
Is it quiet? I mean I can just plug in headphones and practice?
I appreciate the feedback - it means a lot. Thank you very much.
Thanks Ulrich, I am continually amazed by this little device, I use mine more and more - I love the very quick 'time to first output' - no waiting on tubes to warm up - untangling patch cables etc. Not to mention you're free to roam about - I think a bluetooth/wireless add on would be even better
Glad you like it,Mickey.
Thank you very much for the kind words and the feedback - I appreciate it.
The best review of this device out of all of the reviews on UA-cam. Thanks.
Hey there, thanks for the feedback - glad you found the review helpful. Have fun with your new accessory.
Thanks Isaac, glad that you found it useful!
Hi there and thanks for the comment. This is good to know - I personally never tried the other versions. Good to know that this one is the allrounder amongst all of them. Thanks.
Great review man, I needed a way to practice in the evening whilst people in my house are relaxing or sleeping. I think this will do the trick.

Oh well, that's a lot of praise. But I really appreciate your kindness and I'm glad you found the video helpful. Thank you very much.
Nice review Ulrich. I think you've convinced me to buy one. I appreciate your efforts to help fellow guitarists.
Stephano, okay I just tried the following: amPlug plugged into a Big Muff Pi pedal (which is connected to the guitar). It works like a charm!! Hope that helps.
Just bought the one for bass. It has three rhythm tracks built in so you can create your own bass lines and work on timing. Worth every penny.
It works with bass extremely well, amazingly enough. Yes, that's right - BASS. I was pretty surprised, but the sound is really nice and rich.
Thank you for a very comprehensive review.
Great review I'm going to pick one up in guitar center now!
Got my amPlug a few days ago, largely based on this review, so thanks! Excellent review! Just bought one. I have the bass one already and it is so handy!!
I bought this so as to practice privately, not to disturb the neighbors. The sound it makes is great, sounds like a real AC30.
Glad you ound the video helpful - thanks a lot!
Hi Debanjit. No, only the three dial buttons I showed you in the video. That's it. They kept it very simple.
Good review and exactly the info I needed, thanks
very very cool review, nice playing;)
thanks buddy
Glad you found it helpful. Thanks Oleg.
I travel a lot and I plug this baby from my guitar into a BOSE minilink that I use for my laptop. Sounds pretty good!
...and that's exactly why and how I use my amplug devices. A decent set of headphones and it's perfect for when you're travelling a lot.
Jonas, yes you can connect you pedals. I tried it with the BigMuff and it worked well. As far as the sound is concerned, I actually was positively surprised. But also I came is with rather limited expectations, admittedly.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Very welcome!
Cool Review! Is this good for a bass too?
Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Sylvie!
Christopher, thanks for your comment but I have not the slightest clue about what you just said, sorry...
Playing a Sabbath riff was very cool. Thanks for the review!
It's just the regular PC-speaker cable. But instead of having it plugged into my PC, I had it plugged into the amPlug.
Thanks for the answer
Nice helpful video I subbed keep up the videos there great!
I like that classy AC30 clean tone
Cant wait to plug this beatch into my Adcom Klipsch set up!
I got the last one at a Sam Ash guitar center and it was for classic rock. It sounds really really good. Def invest in some good headphones for these
Nice vid good tutorial I'm getting one
Wow this video is 8 years old
I have owned this, they are awesome
Great demonstration.
It's always boring to put out the jacks, amplifiers, effects and all for a 15 minutes session...
Going to store tomorrow !
Well IMO I don't think that it would be that bad for a beginning player, but for a more experienced player it comes down to you and your headphones that can make or break it for you. Definitely try it.
These sound amazing plugged into your car audio input.
awesome video and black sabbath!! do you know if this will fit into a telecaster?
I have the Vox metal amp and it is great for playing on the road and sounds amazing! Great for apartments when rock out late at night or early morning sessions too.
Nice! 2 questions: whats the aprox battery time, and can i use this for bass as well?
Great info!
Glad you found it helpful - thanks.
If you have a carstereo with a AUX you can plug the guitar into it and play it in your car. It is so awesome
You're very welcome!
Hope you'll enjoy it, buddy.
James, I honestly don't know. I don't have a bass, otherwise I'd try it out and let you know. Maybe some of the viewers here will be in the position to comment on your question.
Well, opinions vary on that I guess. But it certainly is a remarkable little device with a pretty amazing sound.
