Siobhan is the more complex and interesting of the original Bananas. You just have to see a few interviews with her, and a few with Keren and Sarah. It is interesting to see Siobhan blonde - and so blonde - again. I remember her comment in the early nineties, talking about leaving Bananarama and dying her hair black. She said she never ever wanted to be blonde again. Ha!

I felt like I totally or at least partially misunderstood her at the time. I felt she probably grew a little pretentious after the success of the Bananarama and decided what they were doing was just too "poppy" and she wanted to take a more alternative route which would give her more respect from her peers as well as the fans. Well, in a way most of which was true perhaps with the exception of the "pretentious" bit. I guess to an extent I can understand where she was coming from. I guess most of us wouldn't want to admit to people we were Bananarama fans at the time and probably felt it would have been deemed perhaps more tasteful if we were to name other bands like The Smiths, The Cure and so forth. The most ironic part of it all is although Stock, Aitken and Waterman might have been all pop, but let's face it, if we are being totally honest here, the most favourite Bananarama hits that people tend to keep going back to are tracks like Venus, I Heard A Rumour, I Want You Back, etc. which by the way as it turns out, all happen to be Stock, Aitken and Waterman songs. Bottom line, when you listen to her speak, she is very genuine and also very polite and pleasant at the same time, just a nice person in general. Needless to say, she is beautiful as well. Is hard to imagine she is already 59, older than Keren and Sarah, but arguably the youngest looking of them all. And I find myself coming around to her like a full circle. It was also fantastic to see the three of them got back together last year as Siobhan never had the opportunity to perform those biggest Bananarama hits live at the time.
I most certainly do not go back to Venus, I Heard A Rumour and I Want You Back ... For me it's more Robert De Niro's Waiting, Shy Boy and Do Not Disturb
