I’ve always wondered how fair/player friendly an AC game would be where the guards/enemies never lose their ‘high-alert’ status once seeing a body? Realistically, it makes no sense for them to go back to being normal after enough time has passed. I think it would make the ‘carry body’ mechanic, ‘cover kills’ and decision making a lot more influential/vital, and, on paper at least, sounds fun. Maybe this enemy detection change could be part of a harder difficulty that can be selected, so the game is still new-player friendly.
Good work on the boat section at the beginning of the game, It was really impressive! AC Rogue was my first Assassin’s Creed game, and I’m glad to see this beautiful game brought a little more to light.
Played this game for the first time not too long ago. I'm from Halifax, and it was the coolest thing ever seeing it in a video game. Atlantic Canada never gets any mention in mainstream fictional media.
3:59 I’m pretty sure this was explicitly the goal. Players had spent seven years with the Assassins always being the good guys, even when there were sympathetic Templar’s in previous games there were never any bad Assassin’s. Great video as always! I posted this idea on one of your older videos but I wanted to post it here too to see if the community likes the idea. So, I just had an idea i thought I’d share with you about a possible video series. I think it would be really cool if you did a bracket-style tournament of the very best missions throughout all of the games and crown a winner for the “best mission in all of AC”. You could make polls for us on here to be able to choose which missions we’d like to see in the bracket and what seed they should start at. Then you could do videos of you playing through the two missions facing each other at every branch of the bracket and choose which mission you think is better (or you could make another poll for us to choose the winner if you wanted to go that way). The winner moves on in the tournament and the loser either drops out or enters a loser’s bracket. Think like a college basketball March Madness bracket/tournament sort of thing, but instead of two basketball teams playing against each other, it would be two AC missions going against each other. You could even classify the missions into “conferences” (like how the NCAA basketball tournament has four conferences of teams facing each other) that group them by mission type. It would just be a lot of fun to watch a tournament like that and also give you a really nice bank of video ideas lined up and ready to go for a while. Plus, we have all seen videos ranking the games as a whole, but I have never seen any videos ranking the individual missions or having them face off against each other in a tournament to find the very best mission. Just a thought I had. Have a great day, Assassin!

Im now playing Rogue as part of my trip to prepare for Mirage, and one thing that i notice, is the enemy detection AI of this and Black Flag is much better than in 3, I like that game, but the enemies can detect you very easily.

If the six guards at 27:09 coming to investigate the body, including one who is very clearly standing on the other side of a large house seems a bit excessive, that's because that's not normal behavior. For a while we thought they just saw bodies through walls sometimes, but Rogue has an unfinished... "feature" that makes civilians telepathically identify the nearest guard, run to him, and report the crime whenever they see a body. This has no telegraph, they move far too quickly and are too numerous to be intercepted, and the investigating guards become instantly aware of your presence before even drawing line of sight to the crime scene. This is why killing just about anyone in Rogue is a mistake, especially if you're not pulling them into a hiding spot or stalking zone before the body even hits the ground. It happens all the time, probably even some parts you cut out and didn't notice during your escape. Truth be told, you probably *can't* beat Rogue without being spotted, not without it coming down to RNG. The tools we normally use to defuse these kinds of problems are just as unreliable. Turns out Unity wasn't the only game that came out broken due to time constraints. Difference is, Rogue never got fixed. Not even a little bit. Let me know if you want to learn more about the intricacies of systems in stealth games, especially Assassin's Creed. They're all hiding at least one game-changing mechanic behind their useless tutorials. In every other case though, it makes the game more enjoyable, not less. We have our resources better organized on Discord than we do on UA-cam just because there are so many. You already know Jcers, and I think Execution Producer?
