Smart to put these clip out. So many don't know that they missed in this show...Hope ppl find it and become fans of Sharpe and Bernard Cornwell(my favorite contemporary author).
He was a great author, but he wasn’t a contemporary author, he was born in 1944, to be contemporary to the events he depicted he’d have to have been born in like 1800 or around that time He was a historical fiction writer, still, fantastic novels
I've read most of his stuff, but somehow not Sharpe. I know he wrote some of Bean's portrayal into the books after the first movie, like Fleming with Connery. Almost scared to read them. If I do, it'll be the ones they haven't filmed
From Sharpes Honour, I highly recommend people to read it, the Marques doesn't even get any lines in this episode lol. But the fight is fantastically written and the book is very much similar to Sharpes Prey, he's in a terrible state and makes terrible decisions, but comes out of it all because of his friends. D'Alembord is a great character in the books. Inquistor Hatcha is played perfectly in the episode I think, the same kind of power hungry slime he is in the Book, where he hopes to essentially be a Rasputin-esque character controlling the Spanish throne under a restored Ferdinand. In the Book, the Marques really does get the better of Sharpe, effortlessly forcing him into a position where the sun is in his eyes (they're fighting in an old graveyard), but Sharpe does hulk out, get very offensive with his heavy Calvary sword and get the best of the Marques, nearly dealing a killing blow.
Not sure how historically accurate this show is but nonetheless it was a great and one of the best shows on especially for that time period in British and American TV.
This was such a good series. Based on a series of great books. What has disappointed me was the battle scenes were unrealistic. But I assume that they were working on a limited budget and there was not much in the way of CGI back then,
@6:28 the French shout sounds like it includes "la poutine" but it's probably something else. Poutine is an extremely popular and simple comfort food out of Québec.
Sharpe strolls up to the duel carrying a Cavalry Sword he TOOK away from a French captain. Sharpe ONLY knows two things...how to FIGHT, and how to WIN!
@FrankWilkinson-ig6co the BOOK (I know, entirely different universe) he took the sword away from a French officer, Sharpe is described repeatedly as swinging a blunt edged butcher knife surprising people at his ability to even swing the thing. P.S. Sharpe is much like James Bond, the books are great movies are great, BUT THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.
Cooper looks familiar to me. Checks IMBD and he was played by Michael Mears who was in my favorite movie A Man Called Sarge as the strange French colonel Cheval.
As i respect sĥarpre, i just wish i had leadership like that when i was in the Army. May not be entirely correct but i get the risk and im fucked way so lets go out with a fucking bang. Respect to Sharpe
Poprostu angielscy bohaterowie kontra francuscy niegodziwcy . Na wojnie tak nie jest i z jednej i z drugiej strony znajdą się ludzie , żołnierze podli mściwi
I see a Sharpe video, i click on it, that`s my style Sir
Now that’s soldiering
Chosen Men, To Him ...... Charge
God save Ireland
Hab alle Bücher gelesen und die sind besser als der Film 👌🏼😉
Mmmmhurmmhmmmm
Upon sighting a new Sharpe video I advanced to it, that's my style sir
A terrific series. Look how young they all are....
And, how old we all are now. !!
Hagman going guns akimbo is priceless sight. He's the most accurate rifleman of the chosen men, with two rifles he's twice as accurate.
@@MrPhil94 it's science
In the first scene, the actor that rides up and stops the duel is Michael Byrne. He doesn't get as much recognition as he deserves.
Upon sighting a new upload, I immediately gave the order to play; that's my style, sir!

nerdlet, it's a very popular show and these clips have been very popular on UA-cam for many years

Sharpe CERTAINLY distinguished himself in this video!!!!
One Christmas, my son gave me the complete box set of Sharpe, needless to say, I’ve played them a few times, never gets bored 🙌
Rifleman Moore was played by a Napoleonic War expert and the man in charge of the series armoury.
"his coat buttons up tight over a number of other duties, sir", you could say.
I mean to give Marshall Victor a DAMN GOOD THRASHING! One of the most memorable lines for me in the whole series
Guy Loup was a monster , one of the top villains in the series
I like how he stepped over him, the duel may have been stopped but Sharpe showed him who was the better man.
viewing a man's crotch from the ground - the ultimate disrespect
Was a kick in the groin a part of duelling?

Fantastic series.! A must aee!!!
Young Boromir was also a finest swordsman!
3 Sharpe videos an hour in any weather, that's soldiering
Me, a freshly trained conscript: Sir? Are we supposed to do that?
NCO: "Giving me a tired sideeye"
I love Sharpe's weird fighting stance.

Historical fantasy probably sums it up best, lol. Bloody good though 😁
You guys should post the full episodes, I bet they would get massive views.
i doubt theyre allowed to. probably other distribution agreements etc. you can find the full episodes on youtube though.
Maybe a live special stream for Christmas.
Getting the series on dvd is worth it.
I just love Pat

I was just saying similar on another of these videos. The scale of the battles is the only thing that lets the show down really.
sharp.major sharp. 🤩god i miss these serials!!..
The best thing you can do , is to read the full series by Bernard Cornwell. It’s as good as it gets.
Rereading Sharpe's Siege right now. One of the best books in the series.
शार्प की सीरीज बहुत अच्छी हैं देखने लायक मैंने काफ़ी सीरीज देखी हैं साधुवाद
@6:28 the French shout sounds like it includes "la poutine" but it's probably something else. Poutine is an extremely popular and simple comfort food out of Québec.
I did miss a good Sacre Bleu! from time to time 😄
Oh, look, it’s Alice Krige, AKA the Borg Queen. She cratainky gets around. (She was also good in Chariots of Fire)
I love Sharpe and I am Irish too...
Sharpe strolls up to the duel carrying a Cavalry Sword he TOOK away from a French captain.
Sharpe ONLY knows two things...how to FIGHT, and how to WIN!
No he didn't, it was given to,him by a dying English officer.

3 shots a minute in any weather sir
Assisti a série toda e é muito boa 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great series.😊
He fights for the right reasons in these scenes.
The books were well written too!
The last one just reminded me of Perkins' death. Damn it
Cooper looks familiar to me. Checks IMBD and he was played by Michael Mears who was in my favorite movie A Man Called Sarge as the strange French colonel Cheval.
It’s cute the channel is still posting these

One of the many forgotten great moments of British sporting glory
В каждой стране во всём мире есть свои герои. Их объединяет по мне одно-любовь к ближним,защита их,честь и безсеребряность
As a fencer, Sharpe won
Anyone know who the actor who plays the marquess is
Shes the same actress who later playing Borg Queen in Star Trek.
@@Turloghan I meant her husband
There is a book that was published about the whole series, or else Google it, but you need to know the name of the episode, either way.
Alice Krige
I wonder how many of these actors are still alive
I’ve fired a Baker rifle.Awesome rifle
Most famous quote of Sean Bean as 006:She smells like strawberries. What movie?🤔
Goldeneye
Technically a misquote. I believe it was TASTES like strawberries
pl show it with sub title thanks

Dulls his knife on the chain like an idiot.

He wasn't dulling it - - he was honing it - - as a butcher removes burrs from a knife's edge with a steel

Southern Ponce met Northern Grit .
Apparently I look like sharpe. Never seen it myself but a few people have said it recently.
Fancy giving such sensitive information out about your future movements Wellington. Nearly as bad as 2rrf officers in the 1980's.
How many others had a huge crush on major Sharpe?
Какой ещё Шарп? Перед нами молодой Боромир, физически не окрепший, поэтому меч маленький😉
Какой это фильм? 😮 2:45
Es la manera de español?
Atherton Wing
Sharps saber is a heavy cavalry choping saber, quite restrictive and usles for duling, and would not have be issued to an infanryman such as he.
It's a captured weapon.
You need to read the books. Explains why he uses that sword. 🗡
тут он тоже требовал отдать кольцо?

Sharpe lost twice.

Зачем вообще смотреть кино с Шоном Бином, если он везде умирает?

Every school boy should be made to watch this , to stop them becoming woke , and learn at the same time ....

UA-cam is full of crap
Great story and characters: poor, broke, BBC budget
It was made for itv

No honor.
I can't stand this show.
I love that you came here to say that, though.
Ten film ma niewiele z prawdą historyczną , ale fajnie się oglada
