- I usually just show you guys a day or week in the life of a medical student at George Washington School of Medicine. This time I want to switch it up and give you guys a valuable tip on how to get accepted, which I think it is due to my experience in public health. This was mainly seen during my time volunteering at a free clinic. You can check out my full AMCAS application if you want to see more (link below). While this is NOT a hard and fast rule, it is still something that you guys should considering when applying to medical school and GW Med School, in particular. Let me know in the comments down below if you guys want to see more tips on how to get into medical school.

good week - lots of lots of consults - are you an MD yet? we need you badly! lol....also you gonna make any more test day videos?
@@chrisalexander9491 Glad you hear you had a good week! I'm still a few years out, but trust me, I'm itching to be there one day! But yes, I can definitely do a test day video!
Had a great day, hiked with a friend then relaxed in the spa. Great video! Hope that GW marketing team is watching and seeing how well you represent and promote your med school.
Good luck on your test
Glad you hear you’re enjoying yourself. Nah e one day GW will say something
Hi Jason! I have an interview in a few weeks at GW med and am very excited. I am certainly gonna keep your videos and points in mind. I wanted to say I appreciate your videos, and I hope your winter break has been nice so far : )
Thanks so much and best of luck on interview. Let me know if you have any questions
Hey Jason, Thank you so much for the great videos! I am working on my secondaries for GW, and your insights are very helpful.
Thanks!! So glad to hear it. Feel free to message me on Instagram and I’ll be happy to look it over for you
I'll be interviewing at GW this winter, and I am so excited because it is one of my top choices primarily its focus on public health and I stumbled upon your videos. If you have any tips for the interview, that would be great!
Best thing is to be yourself. Make sure you go over your key points and why you would pick GW
yeesh, Im writing up my secondaries for GW right now! Ty for the insights. Jw, how early do you start your mornings to fit in all that studying?
Best of luck in applying. Let me know if you have any questions. I usually wake up around 5:30/6. But I also go to bed early around 9:30/10 so it’s dependent on how you want to run your day
How walkable is the campus/ area around campus? How much are you using your legs vs. public transport vs. a car?
The GW medical campus itself is a single 7 story building with the main hospital across the walkway. DC is also a very walkable city. Don’t need a car but public transportation can help. Are you planning on visiting ?
Hi Jason. I can’t even believe this but I just got accepted to GW and I am so happy right. GW is my top choice and I have been watching a lot of your videos and they have helped me so much and showed me what I needed to focus on in my application. Thank you for that. I was wondering how is the living situation at gw. Is it like undergraduate dorm style? Are there singles that’s what I prefer? Thank you again.
Congrats!! That’s amazing. The medical school does not have a dorm. It’s on you to find housing to rent/buy.
@@JasonKrastein thank you so much! Are there any thing you wished you knew prior to starting at GW. How are some of the first year courses? They are all p/f I think.
@@superEriccui Honestly no. It's all about being consistent. Just have to keep up with Anki cards and making sure to study every day
@@JasonKrastein Thank you so much Jason. I guess I am just overly nervous about what to expect and how I should prepare.
What in particular are you nervous about ?
Hey man I’ve watched a bunch of your videos and I’m a big fan. I’m applying to med school this upcoming cycle and GW is one of my top choices. Any way I could talk with you about their application process?
Hey! Happy to help. What questions do you have ?
Hello. I’m at physical therapist in silver spring and I am thinking about applying to GW med school perhaps in the next few years. I haven’t even begun to study for the MCAT (I think there are a few topics I havent taken at all or haven’t done in over a decade). Do you have any classmates that have come from other health professions?
Yes we have a bunch of people who come into med school as their second career. It’s definitely more difficult but not impossible
Yo where do I cop that sweater haha
Everyone wants the patagonia.. the only cool thing we get out of medical school
