OMG!!! I have a Flywoo Cinerace 20 and I love almost everything about it for flying small gaps picking through tree canopies and proximity flying I would never do with my 5" drones. The only thing I hated was a really annoying float when I wanted to drop from high trees it would just hang in the air. The reversed props totally fixed this and I have so much more control over it. Thank you

Yes there is yaw washout but it ain’t falling outta the sky like the avata that the difference between washout and poor drone design great video by the way thank you
Oh wow, I gotta try props in. I think it could be that motor shafts are not parallel to each other. And one or two motors tilted a little making extra yaw drag as they spin. With props out they fight with actual yaw intentions, with props in they help.
Thanks Mark! Modified my 3" squirt style to a 3.5" with guards, everything was flying great except that it would float and not come down, who knew it was as simple as swapping the prop rotation. Now it flys like it's on rails. Thanks again for all you do!
Just wondering if the wobble thing maight be cause by the gyro chip , which wasnot right in the center geometry of the flightcontrol pcb? If all the trouble drone has this kind of gyro chip then maybe it means something or if there was exception that gyro was in the center and stile wobbles on a quick turn?
Thanks Mark. So myth saying that props out configuration will allways help at yaw washout is busted. I'll certainly try that on my cinewhoop because it is doing both things shown here. I would never though to try props in configuration. 😲🙃

Well that is just perfect timing, thankyou for running through this issue. I've recently picked up a Pavo25 and did the first few flights on Thursday. I have had both the issues you describe, and have just sat down to see what the internet says about it. The floating around after a bit of full throttle or a steep descent was really disconcerting, so I'm going to take a look at the gains first, then try swapping the prop direction. Been having a hard time tuning the GEPRC Cinebot30 it keeps having really bad propwash it's drifting backwards on however. I am going to try the props in and see if it eliminates some of these problems

I'm having that same floaty-zero throttle issue with my slammed squirt. Here's a weird one: after reversing motors, props and un-ticking the motors direction is reversed button in BF, my squirt now has bad trilling oscillations as soon as I arm and attempt to hover. RPY works as it should, but the motors are now hot and angry. I asked JB about it and he said he's never heard of this before. Any ideas how a simple props-in adjustment can cause these trilling oscillations and basically throw my perfectly working tune with props out, out the window?

So.. that is it. You rock. First time on the channel and you solved the only two concerns I had on my very first flight. I never flew a drone IRL before, and I went for my first rodeo with this brand new pavo25. I had a blast but those two things (the yaw washout and the drone hanging on the air) got me thinking if I was doing something wrong. For my cinewhoops, i have tested props out conf, and for all, i'm props in because is soo better bizarrely!!!. but for all the rest, 4inch, 5 inch, 6 inch, all are in prop's out! and is better. but i'm not on 4.3 for now.. one day but all my quads fly's great, and why changing a quad when it fly's well? no? ;) and the prices are expensive, now i recycle, the market are so expensive, it annoy me. i have a foxxwoop but i have 4.2 on it, and it works.. sure the 4.3 is better? all are mpu6000.. and i dont know what to do.. (thank's for the presets, always a good base!) and thank you as allways!
What can cause this on a 5" 6S, because one of my friends had this happening for months and he couldn't figure it out, then he switched from props out to props in and it was gone.

Make matters worse, took it out for a test, 2:45 on a 850maH 4s down from 9min and the battery is hot.... brought it down to 14.45v..... dangerously low

Wow... I switched components from beta95x v3 to new pavo25 frame and for a couple of days was struggling with exactly the same problem on zero throttle. I was thinking about switching to props in at the beginning but forgot about that and now your video... Same model, exactly the same behavior :) Will check it tomorrow, hope it'll help. By the way, it's my first quad with Betaflight 4.3.x, so I just thought that I missed something in the configuration... Speaking of configuration, could you provide cli dump for pavo25? I'd like to compare my setting with the original one - for now I have default BF settings. I'm just surprised that even on the product page (I mean pavo25 build), betafpv says that it flies much better with props out direction. Well...
yeah, they advertise that it is better to run props out... I encountered this behaviour (both, the washout and the floating) on my first ever IRL flight. I was... disoriented, but it felt like that was not the normal behavior of the quad. Now I know I was not at fault
Thanks Mark, great video. In your expert opinion, could DJI fix or tone down the prop wash issue of the Avata through a firmware update that would change the PIDs and possibly the prop rotation?
@@lemonsquareFPV You may have misunderstood what I was trying to say. I wasn’t suggesting that we the consumers change the prop rotation but DJI. All we would do is flip the props around to reflect the changes. This is all theoretical, of course. Also, you mentioned that DJI changed the PIDs between V1 and V2, but V2 (the Avata) is a totally different quad, and it would not make. As my sense to keep the same PIDs.
@@samavella8831 changing prop rotation is not feasible after a product has been released, period. How will you notify everyone, how complicated will it make customer support inquiries. It’s not going to happen. The initial run of the Avata and the second batch have different PIDs. Sorry for not being more clear. Edit: we will see what will change in the 3rd batch of the Avata, it will be released in three weeks.

@@samavella8831 no problem. Firmware is the same across all I think. There are hardware changes between release 1 and 2. I don’t know what 3 will be, DJI is very secretive. We will see soon. This is the reason so many are trading in their Avatas for the newer release, it’s not just software. I wonder if they will have a hardware update to the Goggles 2? It is unlikely, but a lot are complaining, so maybe.

I want to confirm that the problem has been resolved thanks to this video, but this change of direction of the props has canceled your preset on cinewhoop 3-4-5" that I had previously set, the engines get hot and the quad shakes like a leaf ,I had to take it off and adjust the pids myself,or did you change something on that preset?please reply thanks
@@uavtech yep props in and configs, now when down the throttle start to make jlitter o jello shaky moves fast like fast prop wash and the drone accelerated. Maybe pid are to much high? The drone start to make weird sound and accelerated itself

@@argentinaerialsFPVsounds like your props are bad. Put on new props. You can try to cover up by increasing filters or reducing pids, but it is not ideal.

GLAD IT HELPED! I did hook up an external SD card unit to record to see what was going wrong.

Would this particular issue be because you were using a pusher? I tried flipping my rig over and found that it behaved quite differently than a whoop.

ima try this stuff, my protek35 doesn't fly well when doing like dives or split s moves, it just snaps everywhere and freaks out

that sounds like turbulence from prop thrust. Best way to help reduce is increase the Master Multiplier slider in the PIDs tab.

Changing prop direction on a released consumer product is very unwise.
They changed the PIDs between release 1 and 2

I still don't understand why there would be a difference between props in vs out. Can anyone explain it in more detail?

There is a term of "cine-whoop".
And should not be flying as so aggressively.
