    I am about to trade in my 2012 5 speed Versa and was almost settled on a $32000 RAV4, but your videos convinced me to just get another 5 speed Versa. It's a severely underrated car.

    I have a 2017 model that's about to roll over 300k. Changed the timing belt at 100k and literally havent done anything but oil changes. Bought for work commute and has been outstanding. Will definitely go back with another one of these. Mine didn't have cruise control so I'm glad they added that feature! Good review!!!

    thanks for the update. Im surprised NHTSA and Nissan havent addressed this issue yet, ive been driving nearly 30 years and have never owned a push button start car(one day, lol)and there are times when I accidentally halt the ignition process half way, getting a engine check light for that, especially in a Versa(had a 09 one)is not something that just blows over, at least this does(in my case it came back again and again). I agree if youre a new driver and you see this in traffic and unless youre a eye of the hurricane type of person youre going to freak out which is a serious issue.
    On the matter of your car, if I may suggest, if youre going to get rid of it, take the dealer oil changes, dealer serviced looks great on Carfax. If you decide to keep the car, have you considered changing your headlight bulbs to LEDs? They would light up the road a heck of alot better than the stock halogens which these days car manufactures find the basic just to pass the test.

    • @youtoobe169
      @youtoobe169  6 місяців тому

      I don't drive the car much at night so headlights were never a concern. I am also surprised NHTSA has not initiated an investigation yet.

    I have a 2018 S model that I bought new. 55,000 miles now with the only minor issue being a noisy rear wheel bearing at about 35,000 miles. I changed the transmission oil at 50,000 miles. The old gear oil came out very clean and really didn't need changing. Good little car.

    I purchased a 2023 Toyota Corolla hatchback SE a few months ago. It now takes 0w8 oil. It's $20 a quart and an oil change at the dealership will cost $140. 🤔😱 That's for a base Corolla so I can only imagine what the GR will cost.

    • @youtoobe169
      @youtoobe169  7 місяців тому +1

      I never heard of 0W8 oil until your post. At least the first 2 years/25K miles are free under the ToyotaCare. I read some forums that said you can safely use the 0W16 or 0W20 in your Corolla and that the 0W8 is just for fuel economy, but I don't know for sure. I can't imagine that 0W20 would hurt anything. The GR Corolla calls for 0W20

    i like the manual parking brake too. if you spill a large plastic cup of pop in the middle of a car with an electronic parking brake button between the front seats you will ruin the parking brake ability. i ruined by cigarette lighter outlet this way. the cigarette lighter outlet on the 2024 versa is now below the dashboard where it should be.

    Thank you for your videos. Are your rear sensors very sensitive when reversing and triggers the automatic breaking very easily? That happens with my 2023 manual Versa nearly everytime I park in reverse or parallel park and it’s very annoying.

    • @youtoobe169
      @youtoobe169  5 місяців тому

      I've never found them to be overly sensitive. They did hit the brakes once but that was because I was about legit close to backing into one of my other cars.

  • @fleemos

    Not sure why people are so worried about revs. I have owned a 99 and 08 Civic Si. The 99 would be at about 4k revs at 70mph. It never failed. The 08 is a bit lower but i still have it at over 100k miles, it's done 11 full seasons of autocross and a few track days with no problem. Going to redline is so fun on a K20 that you can't not do it. Long before the Civic I drove a 92 Sentra with the GA16DE my parents got me as a teenager with a manual, and I mercilessly abused that thing for 50k on top of the 50k it had when I got it. It costs me a clutch from all the power shifts I was doing but it felt so good with that Hotshot header I put on. I The engineers at the car companies don't make cars that are anywhere near 100% component stress in normal operation.

    • @youtoobe169
      @youtoobe169  7 місяців тому +1

      I had an '08 Civic Si and you are spot on about the redlilne. It was addictive! I got rid of that car with like 20K miles on it because I couldn't deal with the infamous 2nd gear grind.

    • @fleemos
      @fleemos 6 місяців тому

      I knew from having a 99 Si that the super high revving VTEC engines like the transmission fluid changed a bit more often than in the manual to avoid gear grind during the fast 1-2 shift. A few years into ownership Honda released a new and improved manual transmission fluid, and it was a lot better, even without me running it for longer intervals.@@youtoobe169

    3:08 yes you can drive it at RPM, but why would you? You were just abusing the engine. If you get rid of your car before 100,000 miles then have that, but most of us keep our cars up to 250.

      @@youtoobe169 yes I know how engines work I have 350,000 miles on motorcycles, I road raced for two years at Willow Springs in California, I have over 1 million miles in cars and well over 1 million in trucks, I do a lot of my own maintenance and worked on my motorcycle engine myself, rebuilding it. RPM does not hurt engines? If you run it at redline all the time, would you get 200,000 on your engine? Or would it explode before then? Like it is said..” don’t yuck peoples yums” like Scotty, you like driving your vehicles hard ? then have had it… As I said

      @@mygolfballsannoy I like the saying "Don't yuck people's yums". I recall a study where one manufacturer drove some of their cars at top speed on a track for 200K miles to prove durability and everything was fine. They only stopped for fuel and oil changes.
