It has been brought to my attention that my original calculation as provided in the video was incorrect. The correct calculation to find resistance of this circuit is R = E squared/ power (57,600/ 1000). The correct amount of resistance in this circuit is 57.6 ohms, not 120 ohms. I’m not always right and sometimes mistakes are made.
You are always a great person to watch Ron
I'd watch the fireplace installation because I'm about to do something similar.
I have the same German shepherd...8yr olf female....Best n most loyal dog I ever had.
When I was 13 my dad took me to the KISS and Aerosmith tour in 03. Great time
Need to do a video of the electric fireplace / wall build!
Never seen a baseboard heater installed before so thanks for sharing. Nice neat job. At this time of year I'm happy to be living in the tropics.
Very cool!
That's why I use only raintight emt connectors for my own house instead of set screws. I believe it gives a more solid contact and you never have to worry about it coming lose from vibration. I am confident to use the emt as egc and not have to use up my green thhn.
The electricians at MGM Grand 1980 thought the same thing.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It’s much appreciated.
I became a huge KISS fan right when they released Alive 2, and had nearly every album on vinyl including the 4 solo albums.
Thanks for all the videos Ron, I grew up in Monmouth County NJ so it's nice to see a UA-camr doing work around the area and fun to see where you go next. Much respect to you, your work, the trade, and teaching us the right way of doing things. I do enjoy some of Kiss hit songs and their style. Keep up the great work and look forward to the upcoming videos.
Thanks for watching!
I wish I never saw the Klein socks!
Looks great! I think I'd have just run my conduit straight into the heater itself and skipped the receptacle/cord/plug. Also that tragic accident just before Thanksgiving of the speeding Bently going airborne into the border crossing in Niagara Falls and exploding when it hit the ground: the driver and his wife were on supposedly on their way to somewhere in Ontario to see the KISS concert there.
Thanks for sharing!
13:40 those puppies sure love each other!
Love your vids! Appreciate your expertise Ron
Another great video, thanks for sharing Ron!
Saw kiss at the Dow Event Center, Saginaw Michigan in August 2016 Freedom to Rock Tour. Been a fan since the early 2000s when I was a teen.
Never personally installed a baseboard heater, never had the need. Even though 120 volt heaters are available up to 1500 watts, I'd personally frown upon them unless that was my only option, such as a 120 volt subpanel being the most practical to run from since they pull twice the amps for a given wattage making it impossible to add another heater or install a larger unit on the circuit down the road should the need arise.
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO FELLOW SPARKY. A MINISPLIT WOULD HAD BEEN BETTER BUT MORE WORK
Very nice room of yours!!!
awesome job Ron
Thank you for sharing this Ron. I learn so much from watching your videos, and I watch every one of them. 3rd year apprentice here, and I hope to run my own one-man shop someday, just like you are doing. Your a great inspiration. Keep the videos coming!
Excellent!
Also a kiss fan, one of the first bands I found on my own
love to see the fireplace video
Great video once again look forward to many more have a great holiday season to you and your family
Emt holds paint verywell if you lightly sand clean it than a decent automotive type primer. My wife liked the painted emt over the wiremold
Lightly sand like you said then degrease/clean with acetone and a rag, coat with etching primer and wait to dry. Then Zinsser 1-2-3 primer over that, and then your acrylic top coats over that. Rock solid coating.
Saw them in ‘74 for the first time at The Tower Theater in Upper Darby Pa…probably 300-400 in the audience. They were playing small clubs and colleges, no real airplay yet. Front row seats. We made our own shirts and Gene was fascinated by them. He sat on the stage and talked to the future wife and me for a while after the show, asking all about the shirts. We probably got him going on merch! 😂😂😂
Just came across the ticket stubs with his fake blood splattered on them along with the original program and I tossed them…my nephew is furious 🤦🏻♂️
Fast forward a year (‘75?) and we were almost crushed to death at the entry doors to the Civic Center in Philly…amazing what a year can do…the band was skyrocketing by then…good times 👍👍
And yeah, I just turned 69 in November 👍
Wow! Great story Chuck. I’ve met nearly everyone who’s been in the band except Ace!
@@electricalron yup…shook hands with everyone in ‘74 👍👍
Great video, I always learn a ton from these. Definitely interested in seeing a fireplace wall video.
Nice job man
My good buddy went to the Kiss show last night......WDHA played a lot of Kiss today as I was working in my basement rebuilding a set of stairs. I was never much of a kiss fan but they did make a lot of good songs......
I agree with the one comment why not a mini split?
Ron love the videos man very helpful for a young journeyman! Would love to see a video on estimating and pricing out jobs in the future!
Minor correction, the ohm value is closer to 58 ohms rather than 120.
R = E/I, 240/4.16 = 57.7 ohms
Thank you for the video.
I see you have a window AC unit in the room as well.
I have an older colonial about 100 years old. 4 year old furnace but the heat and AC can’t make it to the second floor.
I installed a 12K mini-split unit with pre charged line set which heats and cools and it’s a DIY kit. Works excellent. Not sure if you thought about that.
@@cengeb Seriously, I wish I would’ve done it years ago. It works great, heats and cools perfect. Inverter technology, super quiet and efficient.
Very nice! Looks Great! Thank's for Sharing. Question, where did you get the lighted level?
Made by Klein tools.
Love how you put just a little math in there. Keep it up.
Doing a lot of math the past few weeks with my 1st year apprentices. Ohm's Law, Voltage Drop calculations, finding resistance to solve for different voltages, etc. Its all fresh in my mind lol.
Yes…… more videos whatever the subject
saw kiss at montage mountain in pa for one of their first "farewell tours" back in the late 90's. i think damn yankees and skid row opened for them.
youre a treasure man!
Ron, you gotta do a discussion on WAGO's or similar one day...
Did you wrap the ground wire around the box where it goes into the panel? Otherwise it won’t continue the ground path back
I've never had the luxury of seeing KISS live while growing up, I was greatly looking forwards to it. I had box tickets for the very recent canceled Ottawa Canada show. What can you do? 🤷♂️
The thermostat being that close to the elements your going to have a lot of on off surging the biggest problem ive found with all of em. Better if thermostat is on opposite side of room but best of luck
I’ll bet your wife calls you her hero. Nice job Ron.
She’s a great cook too!
🤘 OZZY🤘
It’s only drawing 4.1 amps total 4 amps from the source and 4 amps returning to the source 240x4=960w
4.16666 x 240 = 1000W
those thing take up wall space why not install ductlless mini spit?
Kiss was cool, but I was more of a Alice Cooper and Rush fan in college.
Does the NEC allow for a receptacle above an electric baseboard heater?
No, and the one in the video was removed and blank plates.
Hey Ron great video but I need to find out something, the box where you put in the two wires that is attached to the female twist lock, did you attached the female receptacle to ground screw. I could not see if you did that bonding. Can i assume since you used EMT that's why you didnt run another wire in the EMT? You just used the EMT as the grounding electrode. Let me know your thoughts.
It’s not an electrode. It’s an equipment grounding conductor.
@@electricalron thanks for the correction. Cheers
I have probably 80 feet of baseboard electric heat. Too expensive to use as sole heating. The low temp mini split is the primary. Plus a pellet stove. Can't beat baseboard for spot heating. Thx.
You said you added extra conductors to the heater case? Was the thermostat double pole? I've never had to do that, and have installed thermostats on either side many times. Must be the Stelpro's and Dimplex's cheap-ass single pole thermostats I'm used to!
@donl1410 Yeah, I've just never seen or come across the double pole ones available for the baseboard heater cassettes here in central Canada, but I do usaully use em for wall mounted thermostats.
Your zip it call drywall anchor
i saw kiss at nassau coliseum my 1st show
How's the IBEW training going?
I have no affiliation with any union.
where’s the thermostat
Detroit rock city,Beth
I think its always safer to cover your address on a video, a lot of crazies out there
$$$$$$
I'm Abigail kiss fan I never got to go to a concert be cause of my parents are Babtest but I have a lot of there lps
Avon I'm going to take you back do you remember to kiss
Do you remember the kiss cartoon
I get it Ron. I am not a KISS fan, but I am a lifelong Styxx fan, Same era, different band of course. I was born in 64. Nice touch with the cricket sound. Just one question, why not a hard wire to heater instead of cord and plug connection? Great video, thanks for sharing
