I like the energy that makes the video not boring :)
New subbie here 😊 thank you for your content on Trach care and suctioning I like how it's straight to the point and it helped me visualize how it's done.....I'm also in nursing school and passed my skills test on it because of you so thanks again ❤
@@nettamd yay!
Ty. This is the best demo that I've seen.
Love your videos… you make nursing look so easy. I’m a new LPN struggling to embrace it maybe I need to get into a hospital to have a smaller patient load.
So interesting ma'am, I'm a new caregiver graduated but I need more tutorials 💖💖💖
Hi. Are you working as a caregiver now?
I like how the “patient” is already screaming. Lol
Trach suctioning and trach care are two very commonly done procedures, depending on where you work this may be the job of the nurse or the respiratory therapist.
Love it, very comprehensive..❤️❤️❤️
Great tutorials all times i love you 😍
Good video and not to the point but not boring to watch.
These are awesome skills videos thanks !!
Thank you for the knowledge and for sharing your skills it is very helpful for.

So interesting!
Thanks so much, I have a lot more confidence as a new nurse.
I love u 👏💞💕 from egypt here
Very well explained
Great video! Very informative. I do have a question tho. Do you need to hyperoxygenate before and after suctioning? Thanks a lot!
Yes that is what is recommended
Very helpful! More videos please! Tnx
Thank you!
She's so cute 🥺❤️
My professors always mention lipping the saline as well to lear seay dust
It's very helpful thank you for your videos

Very helpful, thanks
Thanks for your video!
Please do you have video on EKG.??
Yo the best 👍👍
Awesome
very helpful, but i have a question, what is the best position for the patient during the suctioning process ?
Putting them semi Fowlers and turning their head slightly is best.
wow so impressive vidz ma'am new subscriber here
Tq very useful video
Over the recent few months at stages my tracheotomy tube stoma seems to be irritating and I have tried everything I could think of to have the issue resolved instead of going to doctor first. The pain still persists every so often. Hard to explain type of pain. I have had a tracheostomy since birth even changing tube and catheters. Also change thermovent cover too. Cleaned inner canula too.
Yes I love you too
Are we not supposed to preoxygenate before suctioning?
Yes definitely hyperoxygenate prior to suctioning
@@thatnursingprof2661 How many liters of oxygen do I need to hyperoxygenate?
@@jennadeleon4017 It depends on how much oxygen the patient is on already. There is no specific number. Example: if they are on 2 liters hyper-oxygenate with 4 liters. It is individualized care.
thanks for this video
Very helpful
I am.confused with the depth of suction catheter insertion. If you insert until they cough then it means the catheter tip has hit carina or other parts..The repeated suction ll damage the soft tissue and lead to bleeding and abrasions
shouldn't you be hyper-oxygenating prior to suctioning?
Yes definitely
how much to pindi patient tube suction??
A painful process for the patient. Been there. Please be kind.
Very helpful, thank you.
very well explained, is it good to remove your finger ring or not necessary?
In school yes, in the real world it depends on where you work. Some places allow or don't allow rings.
I thought PPE was required? My school requires it and wants you to wash hands 3x and listen to lung sounds and a lot more steps .
I have a question ⁉️
Does patient get hurt by this procedure during suction ?
It's not painful but they do have a temporary lack of oxygen.
How high are you setting the pressure for suctioning at? 100-120mmHg? Max 120 as it would harm the patient otherwise?
Did you get the answer to this question
@@Nellopi22 No i didn't
May i know when inserting the suction catheter till the person cough, does it means i shld stop inserting and start suctioning? Or continue to insert till meet with resistance?
You stop inserting, you can carry on inserting until met with resistance, some patients may cough before reaching the bottom tho, and to always pull the catheter out about an inch first before suctioning.
@@mysticmagic343 Thanks for response. Really appreciate that. So I continue to insert regardless of patient coughing, till i met resistance? I noticed I can insert till very deep like endless bottom, is it common? Sometimes I am not really sure it is really met resistance (end of line) or it just phelgm who is blocking. Another thing is do i start suctioning or i wait till the patient stop coughing only then start suctioning? The reason being was I saw the patient coughing like really very suffering, so I wonder if i do suction tht time will it cause more trauma? OR I shld only start suction (means the catherer has been quite some time ard 5-10 sec in the patient throat) when patient looks more ok?
Just wondering if suction catheter tip or surround area very slightly touch something which is not steril like pt bed linen, if use the catheter for suction, this can cause infection?
Yes it could. That's why I do the wrist turn to remove it so that doesn't happen. If it did on accident the appropriate thing to do would be get a new one.
🚨🚨
Put camera in right direction,
Just a side note. You touched your top before opening the package.
you cant exceed 3 times cause your literally sucking 02 out of the clients lungs with the mucus, its not cause "itll make them upset" lol
Thanks for the lecture
Excellent video! Thank you!
Very informative thank you
