I don't think it's because you have a different opinion. Oftentimes people do not have the skills to even recognize when they are wrong about something. I think the bigger issue is that people are literally too dumb to realize that their opinion is ridiculous and incorrect, and yet are demanding a voice when they have nothing to say. The reason I appreciate Vivek way over someone like Charlie, is he stays away from labels that will alienate the person he's talking to. This gives them room to be able to accept they may be wrong, where a label they take as an insult will make them take an even firmer stance and refuse to consider their point.

The effectiveness of that response depends on the audience's ability to recognize what she said was frankly evil. And yet she cannot. Look up, "Who needs signs when you have a voice.". Vivek stole my heart when he supported a protester to speak his truth where he was. To me, he seems to be the 'real deal' when it comes to allowing freedom of opinion.
I think one point in favour of them is that there might be a problem with the notion of freedom of speech itself. Back then, the conservatives in the world in the past were against freedom of speech because they noticed it erodes the truth that was widely held at the time. But, the liberal folks liked it because it allowed them to make gains in followers. So they fought for freedom of speech. Now, we have reached a point where the liberal folks have more or less established their ideas as the majority world view. They also realize today that allowing freedom of speech to continue would only constantly threaten the majority view and erode it gradually like they did themselves. So, they oppose it.
To be fair, what she expressed was that it shouldn't be illegal for media companies to spread it. I guess she thinks you should only hear it in-person.

I’m a 30 year old Latin woman who has never voted. For years I never cared too much about politics. I started paying attention when I noticed all of legacy Media working in lock step to smear his name. I decided to do my own research and see what all of the fuss was about. What I found was hope. Over the years I’ve not only started paying attention, but I’ve become spirited about the America Trump speaks about. I’m voting for the first time tomorrow! I really hope we can Make America Great Again!
In 2016 I paid little attention to Trump, figuring just another obscenely rich White guy now wants power. Then the joint effort of the hysterical legacy media portraying him as the worst thing ever made me decide to give him a closer look myself. I found that they were mischaracterizing many things he said and just flat out lying and fear-mongering in some cases. His proposals were in alignment to my values by-in-large. They basically pushed me to supporting him. Now he’s my all time favorite POTUS👈🏾

I'm in California and this style of belief is everywhere. Full-throated faith in government, faith in media, and a short-sighted logic that never envisions the powers they seek to impose could ever be given to a side they disagree with. I have zero faith that things will improve anytime soon.

Our founding fathers have tons of discourse on this exact topic and is the very reason they crafted the 1st amendment. They knew they couldn't protect all good speech without allowing some bad. They have wildly enlightened arguments on this very topic.

The reason I appreciate Vivek way over someone like Charlie, is he stays away from labels that will alienate the person he's talking to. This gives them room to be able to accept they may be wrong, where a label they take as an insult will make them take an even firmer stance and refuse to consider their point.

I think one point in favour of them is that there might be a problem with the notion of freedom of speech itself. Back then, the conservatives in the world in the past were against freedom of speech because they noticed it erodes the truth that was widely held at the time. But, the liberal folks liked it because it allowed them to make gains in followers. So they fought for freedom of speech. Now, we have reached a point where the liberal folks have more or less established their ideas as the majority world view. They also realize today that allowing freedom of speech to continue would only constantly threaten the majority view and erode it gradually like they did themselves. So, they oppose it.

I’m a 30 year old Latin woman who has never voted. For years I never cared too much about politics. I started paying attention when I noticed all of legacy Media working in lock step to smear his name. I decided to do my own research and see what all of the fuss was about. What I found was hope. Over the years I’ve not only started paying attention, but I’ve become spirited about the America Trump speaks about. I’m voting for the first time tomorrow! I really hope we can Make America Great Again!
In 2016 I paid little attention to Trump, figuring just another obscenely rich White guy now wants power.

I think these two are great together and what they say is true, and the conversation is also why "free" speech is so hard at times. Do you know how hard it is to actually repeal an amendment to the US constitution? Same as adding one, it's likely beyond the ability to do in modern times. Nor will the democrats repeal it... they'll just break the laws and do it anyway... claim these are private companies, claim "the government" didn't order thing, to it covertly, or just do it openly and then pay little or no consequences when caught and the damage is done (say the election is over).
They have no issues with trying to remove Trump from the ballot, prosecuting him on bogus charges, etc. even though they are all illegal, being tossed out left and center, etc. They've had no idea with Google (literally days ago) removing Trump's interview with Joe Rogan? They won't both amending the constitution (they can't), they'll just ignore it until the rest of the country do something about it -- remove Goggle's liability shield, nail them with consumer laws, the mainstream media dies, etc.
