Looks like a lot of work for sure but looks great when its done. Thanks for the great video!
It All looks 👍 Good Job on everything,
Even the drain lid... !! ✅
I just love the way you are so neat in your work
Thanks, I think for stuff to look nice when Im done
Ok...who else loves the sound of the rocks clacking together or is it just me😀
Meee!!! 👍
Nice to see u doin so well. Hard work has definitely paid off 4 u man. U r truly blessed. Nice work too as usual!!!!
You never cease to amaze me at how well you can position the rock the way you do.
Such a sharp line of rip-rap around the pond my friend. Job well done! The Hitachi performed like a champ!
You take pride in your work, that's why you ase busy and have plenty of work to do, Nice job!
That really made that pond look great nice job Chris😎👍👍
..WOW !! that sure spruces up the look of that pond..good job
I wish you could come to West Kentucky and show our guys how to run equipment. You have a gift my friend. Keep up the great work.
Looks like you're back at the horse stables. Have a good weekend Chris. Take care..
Fine looking job! As usual. 🙏✌🏻from Va. 🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜
You sir, do wonders! Wow that looks great.
Looks great! I love how the rip rap looks on the pond banks 👍🏻
Beautiful job Chris looks great
That looks great nice job enjoyed watching thank you for sharing
Good to see you're not one of those people who impulse buy...what you buy like the Hitachi, the new yanmar, new coochi.....you use them use more often than not and they dont just sit for no reason collecting rust,no clue how to operate or have any practical use but by god they gotta own one just to say so. Another beautiful job by chris!
Heck I could watch this all friggen day long. Cool vids sir
Chris you are the specialist in this kind of work, looks very nice allready 👍😎👌 the concrete lid that must be working good.....🤔
Great job Chris. Looks awesome.
When I grow up and can have beautiful place like this I’m calling you Chris!!!!!
The sound of those rocks. Beautiful.
job looks excellent Chris job well done and I got to say the old hit. She's growing on me I'm starting to like the work the machine can do I think you might want to keep that old girl
Looks great Chris, thumbs up !
Great job, it turned out very nice!
That Ol Rip Rap can be a pain in the Butt, if ya don't take your time with it!! lololol... But , you got it easy as always...lololol... Did look like going threw the gate was almost giving ya fits though !! lolol... Have a Great Evening Chris !! Another Good One... Turned out really Nice !!
Looks great thumbs up my friend awesome job like always
Nice job Chris. 👍👍👍👍👍😉
Looks awesome !!!
Beautiful really good looking job
By golly that sure looks nice, Chris !
Thanks for the video. It helps me understand what it should look like when I do my property.
I'm struggling to find anyone who will even deliver the rip rap much less someone willing to place it since my land has roughly a 9 foot straight drop from the river carving out in the curve. They seem worried about the weight of the excavator on that ledge and I don't blame them
First class job👍
Damn good job on the rock project Chris.
Good work. Looks nice.
Awesome video thanks for sharing
very nice machine seems to have plenty of power
nice looking job chris looks like the hitachi is doing good
8:07 I thought you were going for a swim... nice save! Rip rap looks like it's a real pain to deal with. It looks nice when it's done correctly though.
Great job as always
Beautiful property . Good to have different jobs not monotonous.
Who else feels really manly, watching these videos 💪
Looks good as always . But if you had rolled down the hill in the pond when you tripped on that rock I would had been no more good . And I know you would had done the same way with me lol
Love the new camera angles 📷
Looks like the Old Hitachi excavator doing a great job obviously with Chris in control.
Great job of your like your videos
Super nice looking job
That drain fix will help me out with mine
Great job
Nice job Chris... I need an excavator so bad for my farm....every time I watch your videos I yearn for an excavator.
billreid16 ah ha... the first case of "excavator envy"...... 2 Midol .....call yourself in the morning!!!
Looks good Chris
Nice rock placement. That will shine your bucket up.
Very good Rip Rapping around lake .
Sounds like a new dance sensation. Chris, Tim, Jason, and all their UA-cam buddies doing the Rip Rap around the lake. Do you think there'll be a BBQ? All that dancing would make you hungry. ;-)
Very good job
Very nice result
Hey man love the vids.. im currently doing my operator course and im constantly picking up some of your tricks along the way ! But if you could let me know i have always wondered, why you lay the hay over tracks when its all done ?
Quite a change in the landscape, eh? Good job.
You rock.
What type of geotextile fabric do you use under riprap?
Yes, I love the neat work he does as well!! Is that approx $20k material cost in riprap??
(Raleigh, NC)
Rip looks great. The snakes love it though.
It's a wrap, looks real tidy bro.
Nice!!!!
Dose the hydraulic thumb save you time on this stuff? Just curious
Hey Chris, would you be so kind as to make a short segment about what the video equipment you use day to day is and what the good and bad points of them might be? It has been a couple years, and not that I am asking for you to shill for any one brand, just curious more than anything.
Did you ever get the AC fixed in the machine
would love to see it working on a hard rain
2 or 3 bedding boxes would really help out in this situation save you from cleaning up rocks and you could just place them perfectly as you go instead of having some thicker and thinner in deferent spots 🤷🏻♂️ my company always runs boxes but idk
Great job Chris! You are in high demand. Need to clone you lol. What do you call the white rock you put around the pond? Is that a white limestone?
The less care you take placing the rock (Flicking it off the edge with the bucket) seems to produce better results!
I bet the owner has you back to do the remaining grass bit.
When i remember correctly it is his own property. :-)
@@timk.2381, That's Chris's property ?
@@timk.2381 No it's not his own property.
I studied all of letsdig's videos in preparation for some work I needed to do on my property. I rented a mini-ex, and caught a guy wire, broke my service pole and ripped the weather head off my house. Phase two of ruining my life is selecting the highest interest rate credit card to pay for the repairs. Stay tuned...
That sucks dude! Good for you in doing it yourself.
Haha on day 2 I come in to fix said mess and explain how it always looks easy on the internet lol
@@letsdig18 OK. I used to do tree cutting, and yes, i've fixed some pretty messed up jobs. But if nobody got hurt, I still give them respect for trying.
Edit: That's how you learn.
@@letsdig18 hahaha once I've hopelessly sunk the mini in mud--my mission will be complete... and yours will be just starting.
When you slipped did you look to see if anyone was watching you?
Question in the beginning of your video, was this a truck load of riprap....
👏👏👏👍🇬🇧
How many cubic yards/tons would I need for 111ft by 16ft? Thank you
Very nice work Chris!!! Any word on that big sinkhole job?
Hey, good call. That looked like an interesting project, and potentially, a really big one. That's one to look forward to.
Yes!
Fast by name, fast by nature.👍 🇬🇧
What fabric did you use? And why? Thanks
Do you not staple your fabric?
Noob question but how do you tell the rip stones from the rap rocks?
They each have their own tune.
Very funny.......NOT
@@whobee8868, Lighten up Buttercuppage. Now that's funny !!!
Everyone knows that... you count the corners......
The Rap Rocks wear their caps backwards.
Chris can I ask you a question around you manhole if you put the Boulders around it would not keep the debris from going down in the pipe
No it wont itll likely make more flow causing more junk to go in or clog you need a trash net or get rid of the debris in general
Love watching your videos but have you ever thought about just before the end of your videos to put a few pictures of the before and after. 👍🌁🏙️
I meant to do it, I even took them!
No rock around the drain?
Hey Cris, was that a 4 to 8 inch rip rap or 8 to 12 there I can’t tell exactly
8-12" some a little bigger some a little smaller
How many truck loads would that work out to be?
@@DEDBRD-di4yj 20 tons per truck
What size is the rock?
What is the purpose of the fabric
I still hear people call it riff raff... I live near Fountain N.C., do you guys ever get stone from the quarry over here?
Did you ever get the AC unit fixed in the excavator?
yeah
Is just an impression or the hitachi bucket is smaller than the volvo 200/250 ‘s bucket?
You'll finish it up? I think you mean, you'll "Rip Rap" it up.
Rip Rap Master
Why do you put straw on top of the seeded grass ?
You will get more weeds when you straw it, but the trade off in getting the ground covered quickly to hold the soil in place is worth it.
@megapooldealsdotcom Yup. Also helps keep the seed from washing away. I think that the process is used most everywhere.
Vegetation. Also use it a lot for erosion control when it rains out here in cali
Is that a water pump by the edge of that pond - for irrigation or for horse stables perhaps?
watering the pastures
What seed do you use???
Grass seed. Duh
@@whobee8868 What type of grass seed is what I meant. Duh
lol i bet thats what it sounds like when they drop dirt on a coffin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s like picking up marbles with a fork..... right?
That white rock you use is very nice looking. Rarely see that bright white out here... lots of grey stuff is our norm.
Jennifer WhiteWolf after it gets a rain on it it will be grey. It’s granite just the same.
I know in ky where I'm at its mostly white limestone
