Thanks for putting out this content! I really enjoyed it, not to mention that I can learn a lot from videos like this. I'm just glad I picked construction management as my major.
Hi Chris, wow that was alot in one day ,it's awesome to watch you operate ! You never waste a move and that skidsteer has some power to it. Great video thanks for sharing!👍👍🇨🇦 Craig
Wooooooo! Laid down some music. Impressive! 😁 Why would anyone not want a basement in a house? You’d think with tornadoes and hurricanes it would be a must have if not in a flood plain.
I'm guessing that a ground water issue, basements are actually cheap square footage compared to going to a second story house and you see a lot of 2 and 3 story houses in his videos so I'm guessing their whole area is kind of a flood plane.
My husband and I own a small site development company here in Florida, Mainly land clearing and parking lots, recently started doing house pads,we hired a 27 yr old woman that's a beast on a skid steer 🤣 when she applied we thought she was trying to impress us saying she was good on one,My husband took her to a job and she was flying all over the place and put that pad right on the money, Definitely worth the $30 a hour
Chris can we have a quick video update on the storage facility you constructed a while back? Also did you you use a laser to establish height of fill for this project? Happy New year from Canada.
Thanks for the great videos. I have a question, what type of rock do you use for the driveways? I ask cause i have a rock driveway that gets grass and weeds growing in it and the stuff you lay down looks like a solid slab of concrete after your done lol. Anyway thanks again for the great videos i really enjoy them.
Nice videos I enjoy every time. A healthy 2020 is desired. Are you going to shred the trees this year and not burn them anymore? I hope so. Regards, Louk from the Netherlands
At 18:50 how do you know you’re pushing the fill out level? Is it just by feel/experience or is there a technique to it? I always seem to push it out at a slight uphill slope.
I need someone to do this type of work for me. I'm building a house soon, but the pad needs to be built up for sure. Where are you at? I hear some southern accent. SW Arkansas is where I need the work done.
Hey Chris, been subbed to you since 2012. Never missed a upload. I love it! Anyway, in other news I noticed that my notification icon was untapped. Curious. Is YT pulling some sneaky shit on your channel? Thought you should know.
Yup over here in ca, most are footing with crawl spaces in em since most of the house in the area are built on hillsides. Theres a good amount of post tension slabs being build too.
@@allanadam4553 I know it, it just seems like slabs are a whole lot more popular these days than ever. I wouldn't have a house that wasn't built on concrete footings with a crawl space underneath. All that plumbing encased in concrete with no way to get to it unless you use a saw and jackhammer. No way. Too cheap for me!!!! Just seems they are a lot more common here in NC, than they were years ago.
Hey chris. Stupid question from a newbie... but when you do these building pads for residential homes are they digging basements after you have done all this work? Or is this type of building pad only for above grade construction?
Someone asked why Chris did not put in a gantry hoist when he built the workshop, and he replied that he did not intend doing the sort of work that would require one. That makes me think the workshop probably won't be quite so interesting as the likes of Tim (Cotontop3), Jeff (Jpaydirt), or dare I say it, Andrew Camerata's shops. Chris just might be missing a trick though. I rather think that Tim has received significant (in dollar terms) equipment from Milwaukee and Husqvarna, and even attachments for his mini like the big claw we say a couple of weeks ago. Jpaydirt has somehow managed to put it out there that he enjoys getting parcels from his subscribers, and gets a lot of nice stuff that way. Not quite the same as Contontop3's thousand dollar 1" drive cordless impact wrench though.
Youd think Volvo would send him some stuff, given that they featured him in one of their videos, and he sings their praises constantly. Would be a good excuse for him to get rid of his non-volvo stuff if he gets given the volvo equivalents. I think chris is just happy to have stuff that works, and likes to earn his way up. They're all pretty frugal, given the state of maypop (the tire on his volvo dumper), but it seems to pay off.
That is also true, most likely is he'd have to ditch any non-volvo products and put "Sponsored by volvo" somewhere on his video. So yeah its a bit of selling out but I'd be fine with that, cause he'd be potentially getting new machines.
With your equipment spread over a 2-3 hr radius, ever have a situation where you forgot where a piece was? With the high water table, very few basements in that area?
Hi Chris , I really like the time lapse , regular time combo. Very entertaining as per usual Thanks
This, plus the montage music.
Time lapse is a nice touch!
Thanks for putting out this content! I really enjoyed it, not to mention that I can learn a lot from videos like this. I'm just glad I picked construction management as my major.
A lot of people underestimate what you can do with small equipment. It’s all in the operator! Nice work 👍🏻
Hi Chris, wow that was alot in one day ,it's awesome to watch you operate ! You never waste a move and that skidsteer has some power to it. Great video thanks for sharing!👍👍🇨🇦 Craig
Hi brother.
I'm from South America. I love construction and you know how to do a very good work. I like watching your videos.
Thanks for sharing :)
Chris, another job well done.👍👍🇬🇧
good job, this video is very informative, im looking at getting the yard ready for a driveway, and a building pad for a garage.
Bam !! Bam !! Done an Done !! Great As always Chris, keep umm coming !! Have a Great Evening...
I've run a lot of equipment over the years I've seen A lot of guys run equipment I have to say you are one hell of an operator
You ought to see him run it in person
Chris is awesome, love how he makes us feel like we are in the cab with him.
Hi mate, love all your vids, thankyou so much for all your effort and time, truly appreciated. Stay safe and well 🙂⛏
Great job Chris,,, you do a very nice work with generally with just a 3 man crew!!!!!!
A fast and a great job Chris 👏👏👏👍🇬🇧
AWESOME music with the time lapse & great work & video as usual.
Very nice project Chris, doing good job guys 👌👍⚠️
Great job Chris enjoyed watching
Cant believe letsdig18 is doing some timelapse/highspeed footage!👏👌👏👌
Great video man! Time lapse and music was a nice touch! Nice job
Time lapse was a great addition to your videos, thanks.
Another satisfied customer I'm sure.
Thanks for the video.
love the music and time lapse

Why would anyone not want a basement in a house? You’d think with tornadoes and hurricanes it would be a must have if not in a flood plain.
Basements are very expensive in North Carolina.
David Dykes Any idea why?
Scott S. There just more expensive vs a normal SOG. Way less dirt to move and alot less block or poured wall to go up
Jake Witt Ahhhh, I thought there were reasons exclusive to NC.
I'm guessing that a ground water issue, basements are actually cheap square footage compared to going to a second story house and you see a lot of 2 and 3 story houses in his videos so I'm guessing their whole area is kind of a flood plane.
Good, quality work right there.
Glad you talked Dirt Perfect into a Volvo.
If money were not an issue he would have bought the hyundai
It is all the operators skills
Thank you for posting
Good video Chris and also enjoyed the music.
Awesome video, thumbs up !
excellent with the time lapse, Chris.....
Great Videos! Thanks.

I thought for a sec I was watching digginok, wondering when he got a yanmar... happy new year chris!
It's great to see you grading with just the feeling,
and not with a lacer.
Making it Happend thought I heard a laser at one point of the video beeping.

Any chance you got any video or finish grading around the pad? Nice job as always Chris.
Great video - you do awesome work
I really enjoyed the time-lapses
Man you was working the grease out of the skid steer . Looks great
Those were some sharp dump trucks 👍🏼
Looks good Chris at least your not playing in the mud lol
Turned out to be a great video bro
Yes!!! Time-lapse
New style videos with music first the first time
Shoot, it's a nice edit all around chris. 👌
Great video thanks! How many truck loads of dirt did you have to bring in??
Amazing video
Let's go Chris!!

Great video Chris. What's the name of the music you use? Love listenin to the jams durin your drone footage.
Love the time lapse. If only the machines could really move that fast. Ha!
At 18:50 how do you know you’re pushing the fill out level? Is it just by feel/experience or is there a technique to it? I always seem to push it out at a slight uphill slope.
chris, how come you dont use the bulldozer for all this fine grading and loam stripping?
good video chris
I can't tell what kind of material you filled with. At first I thought it was crusher run stone but it looks more like gray sand.
We call that screening where I'm from. Those fines pack down so good. A roll over them and a rain, it's like you poured a slab.
Base Rock here in CA
Chris I see your using the 5.5 yanmar ,what are your thoughts on this machine as I'm looking at this size but there are a few models around
Hey Chris how many tons are your Trucking hauling at once ?
Great video Chris! Ya'll made quick work of that job!
What type of soil did you haul in for the pad?
So is it common there to use what looks like 53s for a building pad?
what sort of house slab will be put on that?? will it be dug out for footings ???
Glad to see the camera taken out of the machine cab more.
I wonder is the next project involving a pond plenty of them lately

What are properties of fill dirt ? Does it just compact really well ? Is it all dirt or is there crush stone in there ?
Are you permitted to name the music and group ? Great videos!!
You know your a good operator when you can hold grade like that ! Awesome work and great content !
Did you finally get your skid steer back
Nice
4:40 can that possibly be traces from a settlers treck ? from the manifest destiny era
How much is a load of that fill from the quary ?
What size pad was this and how many loads of dirt did it take?
Love the video Chris .
Hey Chris, been subbed to you since 2012. Never missed a upload. I love it! Anyway, in other news I noticed that my notification icon was untapped. Curious. Is YT pulling some sneaky shit on your channel? Thought you should know.
never know they mess with so much stuff
Chris! How many Tons or Yards of the Processed can the Quad's haul ??
20
what is the total cost for this job?
How much do you pay for that fill material? What is typical hourly truck cost to haul it?
What kinda stone is that. Is it cheaper
Ok, i really appreciate the music. More editing I know so thanx.
The southern rock flair seems appropriate. Heck, it sounds dang good!
Do you guys have basements down in the Carolinas?
Is this for a slab house just wondering why you had to bring fill up to grade
slab house
Oh man, rocking that youtuuube musak from like 2008 ....lol goddamn
They do it different in East Texàs.
Base would be clay dirt. Rock is scarce around here.
Is this a slab or pier n beam
what you using for the pad?
What is that you used for fill ? It looks like stone dust.
Robert Woodward that’s what it is... screenings from the quarry
wouldn't it have been quicker with the 160? or is it tied up on another job?
how much for that size of block? am guessing it's a few acres....
Why don't you have smooth buckets for you big excavators? Seems like it would come in handy for a bunch of the work you do.
Does anyone build on regular foundations with footings and a crawl space under the house anymore, or is the slab house the common thing now?
Scotabot Slabs are cheaper than footings and crawlspaces, faster to build as well. Usually higher prices homes get the crawlspace treatment.

That would be funny if your truck drivers name was Phil, waiting on Phil to bring fill
pork chop yeah that made me smile too ! Maybe we might get a answer . Always a good to see a job done properly by let's dig 18 .
@@innertubemac we had an operator that got nicknamed that because that was all he was good for
Even more funny if his last name was McCracken 😆
I much prefer the time lapse to skipping ahead. Get to see all the progress. Thanks.
You moved the cap of what looks like a fire ant hill. Did you know it was empty?
It's empty now. Lol.
That make me what to go by to work , haul for 35 years
Hey chris. Stupid question from a newbie... but when you do these building pads for residential homes are they digging basements after you have done all this work? Or is this type of building pad only for above grade construction?
Marc Munyon this is above grade construction on a slab
@@JC-dr8ev thank you. I was just curious.
@letsdig18 how come you don’t, put clean up buckets with wrist on the bigger machines
When can we see your new workshop?? Greg, UK.

Are basements an option in your area?
not many
Can I takle a job like that with a skid steer with a bucket only?
