  • Reimagining the most popular American Muscle Cars of the past, Trans Am Worldwide is now taking orders on the most recent in their modern-day muscle car line up, the 70/SS.
Available in three trim packages, the 70/SS pays tribute to the 1970 Chevelle Super Sport. Built on a current modern platform, it’s power plant options start with the 450hp LT1. A 396ci 900 rear wheel horsepower engine upgrade is also available and for the pentacle of the powertrain options, we have the LS6/X twin turbo 454 with 1500 streetable rear wheel horsepower. The LS6/X model will be limited to only 25 units.
The interior takes shape with a retro gauge cluster, loop carpet, ’70 style seats, console, shifter, etc.
Choose from eight heritage colors or ten different modern metallic and pearl combinations, or have our paint department mix your favorite or custom color.
Other options include; a removable hard-top, upgraded brake package, multiple wheel options, painted graphics, exposed carbon fiber and much more.

If these guys can build a "tribute" Chevelle from a Camaro, why can't they build an El Camino from the same Camaro? It would only stand to reason that if they did take on the El Camino project that 1/2 the work was already figured out using this build. All they would have to build is the rear half of the car.

For the 1970s fully restored with the sound system you can get it for under 74k so a price tag of 165k is crazy

Very nice. BRAVO to all involved. The only thing left to do today with car design is to go back in time. I remember in the late '70's and early '80's, everyone wanted a '68-'72 Chevelle 2-door. The '70 was the choice model, but good ones, and there wasn't many here in the north east, weren't cheap even then

The 70 Chevelle was a timeless design and an excellent expression in automotive design. It just worked. That it remains so appealing 52 years later that others would attempt to re-express it with a modern revision is pretty amazing. However, I'm unconvinced offering one built upon a modern Camaro platform is such a great idea. It's going be plagued with so many of the built-in compromises that cannot be overcome with a change of exterior sheet metal. Outward visibility and a worthless rear seat , a shorter wheel base, and a damn small truck are still going to tell it's owner "I'm really a Camaro.' I just put on a different dress." The early Chevelle was an intermediate-sixed car with a real rear seat, a usable trunk, and good outward visibility. You could seat five, possibly six adults in one. Imitation may well be the sincerest form of flattery, but it is seldom as satisfying, nor as extraordinary, as was the original. I think I'd have to pass on this one. Were I in the market for a modern Camaro that qualifies as classic I think I'd prefer a new COPO. After all, a COPO is still a Camaro, and not attempting to be passed off as something it isn't and can never be.

The most awesome car in my eyes thats art. Thats the best remake of any model a 100 times better then the Chevy camero & 500 times better then ford Mustang or thunderbird. I'm biased because I'm a chevelle guy I've had a 70 & a 71 el camino both hit by drunk drivers . And the green with gold strips fricken beautiful.
