I had never seen this performance before. Ustad Vilayat Khan demonstrates his trademark fast tans and gamaks so nicely. No other sitarist could do them so smoothly and seemingly effortlessly.
If we can we should stop comparing him with other Sitar masters of our time. There is a huge number of sitarist on one side and Ustad Vilayat Khan Sahib was alone on the other side. He was the best of the best from the group that the world produced.
@@tariq909able friend I respect your views but I have constantly listened to Vilayat for 22 years in live programmes I can say very definitely I have got that very strange feeling listening to Vilayat which I cannot describe in writing GOD is everywhere and definitely manifested in pure emotions and feelings so without any doubt GOD can be experienced in Vilayat. I have met him personally and touched his feet. Again I was surprised to feel something unnatural. Vilayat Khan was a very elevated Soul different from the rest. However this being personal anybody is free to disagree.

This is why Ustad ji is crowned as "Aftab-e-Sitar-- Pranam to Khan Sahab.
No words will be sufficient to praise this divine music. Tabla is also wonderfully played. This is called Hindustani classical music.
