Great review ! Thank you for the content. I'd like to see a comparison between the AD-10. & the S.O.G. Seal XR Flipper. I really love these hard use folders , the knives coming out these day's are amazing !
I have a lot of knives from Spyderco, Buck to Bark River and Winkler . This Cold Steel AD10 is put together so well that you can just feel the quality in your hand. This is my favorite knife. I’ve never bought a custom knife so I can only compare to production knives. The AD10 is the perfect knife. You won’t know until you purchase one for yourself
I only needed to decrease the pocket clip tension a little bit and bent up the clip end some on my AD-10 to ease going over the top of my jeans pocket. Still, I agree with your assessment, though I kept my AD-15, and it is great after targeted sanding, reshaping the pocket clip end and easing clip tension. Unlike other more complicated efforts, I use old Work Sharp belts to target just under the clip contact and the mod does not show while the clip is mounted.
I picked up an AD10 on the first release and it's everything you said. I'm waiting for the AD15 to be released with smooth Micarta or G10. I don't anticipate liking it as much as the AD10 though.
Massdrop is currently doing another drop as of 5/25/19 for $150. I missed the last one but grabbed this one. It appears out of stock everywhere else and is $179.99 from every online retailer I see. This will be my first Cold Steel. I hope it's as good as everyone says.
I just saw Massdrop has this for $145. Looks like everyone else is charging $179.99 but out of stock. Considering it. No Cold Steel in my collection...yet
@@SliceyDicey I'm on the fence. I ordered the carbon fiber Orca from them last week and the Blade HQ spyderco M4 Yojimbo 2 yesterday. Not sure I want to spend more money for at least a week. I guess the drop is for 5 days so I have time to think about it.
Pretty sure these were generally running 150 when they came out... but they do seem to be more expensive now. Seems like a nice knife, but I'll stick with my code 4 given the large price difference between the two.
Just got my flat grind from Amazon for $127. Super happy with it but I probably won’t be using this one while working at Home Depot to cut boxes. I can get by with using most of my other knives, but the loud lockup and size would most assuredly turn some heads. My manager is not one I would like to turn. Can easily deploy by 6 methods and actually find it fidget friendly.
Got mine last week absolutely love it. It does carry lot better than youd think i can actually get past this knife easier than my pm2 the only thing i dont like is you can hold it tip and flick it open with gravity. Also while big and deffinetly cold steel it is a classy looking knife its not aggressive if you know what i mean.
Blade center had them a day or so ago for $148. Not sure if they still have any in stock. I was supposed at the price and that they had them in stock. I picked up the ad15. Might pick one of these up in a few months
I had this for about a week so far and I stabbed my leg on accident and multiple finger cuts. I can’t stop fooling with this knife. It feels that smooth that you want to constantly have it out screwing with it.
so crazy question.... as anyone ever taken out the thumb studs and drilled the hole bigger to add a spyder hole? when the knife is closed I think it's big enough to accommodate a spyder hole.
I do have a Curtiss F3 Medium 😎 (the large must be a monster 😵) which is just fantastic!...but these large knives..."I" just will not practically be carrying....Honestly, I just don't feel comfortable whipping them out in public situations. (PLUS, They may pull my pants down, unexpectedly 👻)....7.5”-8.25 is the sweet spot for me. ....but I do enjoy voyeuring these monsters! 😛
Love everything about it, except...that fat pocket clip! Fugly as hell. My ridiculous cold steel knife is the six inch cts-xhp holdout 1, dlc coated, coyote brown g10. And it actually carries well.
hi there slicey, new sub here , u.s. marine vet here 93' to 97' active , i am trying to track down a ad-10 for trade though, i have a ad-15 now and i am willing to throw in another knife for the trade perhaps ?, if you know anybody , please let me know , would love to talk more , big brotha of the blade here , thanks > tom !
Great well spoken review...daaammmm I love that knife...been looking at taking the $$ plunge to cold steel, I am a sword collector so it pains me to spend that and not have a sword...lol...but thats a quality piece..thanks for the review...im subscribing please check out my channel as well
"Speak softly, and carry an AD-10" - Teddy Roosevelt
Right? Right.
Just got my AD-10 and absolutely love it !
This is a home run imo .
I got me one. It's on its way can't wait to hold it for my first time lol
Just got the AD15, first Cold Steel. This one will probably be next. The AD15 is just fun to open and close.
I love my AD15 😁 and now I got an AD10 in the mail 😎
I love my AD-10!
Great video 👍
I was looking at that earlier today and here you made a review for me :)
Love this thing. Smooth action, great ergonomics, knife of the year thus far!

Hey Bryan, just an FYI Massdrop has the AD10 on sale for $145.
Love this beast. Wish they made the exact same looking knife in a smaller, more easy to carry version.
I love this knife great all around
Ohhh, that opening and closing sound of the lock is eargasm for me. I cannot wait for mine to arrive someday next week.
I picked up an AD10 on the first release and it's everything you said. I'm waiting for the AD15 to be released with smooth Micarta or G10. I don't anticipate liking it as much as the AD10 though.
I have both and they are excellent. In the last week though they jacked up the prices on both quite a bit.
Yeah I noticed that! When I looked it up for the review I thought it was higher.
This is a chunky knife! Cool to see the design work around the scales/blade. Would carry this at work for sure! Thanks for showing us this fine knife!
Nice knife !! Thanks for the look
I agree the G10 is beautiful and functional without hurting your fingers. I love mine. The lock is much easier to disengage than my Code 4
Yep I know it’s a year old review, just got one, ordered a deep pocket carry for it .. sweet for the money for sure .. thanks

It is.
Just got one. Donated it to Shabazz. Just ordered another for myself and I don't even like big knives. It's that good.
GETTIN ONE !
so funny to come back to this video a year and a half later knowing that Slicey carries pocket swords now almost daily lol
I just saw Massdrop has this for $145. Looks like everyone else is charging $179.99 but out of stock. Considering it. No Cold Steel in my collection...yet
Yeah I got that email this morning.

@@shaunharrison9618 if you haven't swung yet they are on Amazon for $129 now 😁
@@OsamaBinDarrel I got it from Drop. Thanks!
AD 10 is awesome no doubt, but I like the 4 Max Scout better. I just wish it came S35VN instead of AUS10.
Pretty sure these were generally running 150 when they came out... but they do seem to be more expensive now. Seems like a nice knife, but I'll stick with my code 4 given the large price difference between the two.
Yeah. It went up.
Cold steel Canadian belt knife is the sharpest knife I’ve owned lol. It’s scary sharp
They can DEFINITELY sharpen a knife.

Currently 120 on amazon from them directly, smokin deal
I'd love to see it vs Ultimate Hunter!
If I ever have an Ultimate Hunter, I'll do that!
So this would be your choice over the Code 4, 🎤American Lawman and AD15 if you only kept one?
No. I'd probably go American Lawman if it was only one.
Ad10 is awesome really great ergos better than Manix 2
The only cold steels I have are the Voyager Tanto XL and the Tuff Lite and I like em. Thanks for the video, Slicey.
I've been looking at the ad15 but found an ad10 should fill my work needs well .
I am not a cold steel fan, but this seems like a really nice knife. I would carry one.
How could you not be a fan of cold steel? Lol
You don’t really like knives if you don’t like Cold Steel bro.
Not in stock at WMKs but available at GPKnives
It was when I uploaded this an hour and a half ago.
@@SliceyDicey pretty crazy.
After Benchmade's stab in the back, so to speak, I'm back to where I started many years ago...Cold Steel!
What happened with Benchmade?
Blade center had them a day or so ago for $148. Not sure if they still have any in stock. I was supposed at the price and that they had them in stock. I picked up the ad15. Might pick one of these up in a few months
Nice 👍👍👍👍 thanks for sharing
145 on amazon right now!
Jimislash has 4 4MAX knives. He loves to lend. But I think you already know that!
I’m done with G10, CF and various metals are just more comfortable and easier on the pants.
AD 10 for me ! The 15 doesn't do a thing for me .
What knife sharpener would be good for this knife
This is really good looking, but a touch beefy for my tastes. Now, if they made an AD-10 Slim? woof...
I had this for about a week so far and I stabbed my leg on accident and multiple finger cuts. I can’t stop fooling with this knife. It feels that smooth that you want to constantly have it out screwing with it.
Nice review.
Too bad the blade is not sterile. I hate the big Cold Steel marking on it (on both sides).
i want one but will wait til i can get one closer to a hundred and the ad15 doesn't get my attention at all, never owned a cold steel
I think you'll be waiting awhile.
@@SliceyDicey i'm almost 70 and patient at this point
$145 on massdrop

Has anyone stacked the ad10 against the shaman yet???
Don't think so, but I'd like to. I need to get another Shaman.
Beautiful knife but I wish it had a flipper

I'm probably in the minority. But, just not feeling this blade. Handle seems too bulky for pocket carry. Maybe be ok for sheath though.
I spy snk809
Yep! My wife got it for me two christmases ago and it's barely left my wrist. I just don't feel the need for anything else.
This knife is a big beefy knife 🔪. Im use to smaller knives and not sure i can handle it.🤣🤣
Very interesting knife. Looks like the same type of G10 as on Ultimate Hunter. But man that clip is ugly! Nice video as per usual. 🙂👍
Love everything about it, except...that fat pocket clip! Fugly as hell. My ridiculous cold steel knife is the six inch cts-xhp holdout 1, dlc coated, coyote brown g10. And it actually carries well.
Good video. Thanks for no theatrics

Nope. They went up. So did the AD-15.
April 11th I purchased in stock from GPKnives for $149.95 delivered to my door.
A great review before the reviewer went “big time” and got so full of himself. Great review.
