2 years ago I joined a Barbie collectors group on Facebook (theres a tip for you) and saw a photo of a Barbie Book. Duh of course reference books. They exist for everything, right? But there are many of them. Here are the ones I use the most to get you started.
In this video I show you a several of my favorite Barbie Reference Guides that help me identify and put together my Barbies for reselling. The more you know the better and more accurate you can become with your price point.
Although I have been looking at vintage Barbie for quite some time now, these still come in handy. I still flip through them just to keep myself acquainted with them.

Hi I just stumbled upon your video...Awesome....I was 2 yrs old when Barbie came out....and you are right, I waited until I was in my late 40's when I started collecting..I had to reply on the internet for my research.....But ironically, I remembered the first years of barbie, she has a unique smell unlike no other (crayons to be exact.).. Happy collecting.
I had all the originals...then got interest in boys in the 70's and gave them away... stupid me...However, I did get my hands on Pony tail #2 barbie,,,then I regrettably sold Miss Sleep eye....You have to really be careful when buying the 60's outfits...they have unique labels that can not be duplicated......Glad you are collecting.

Thanks for showing the inside of all of the books! I found your video in my research of trying to find good barbie reference guides-on eBay they don’t show any of the inside of books so it’s hard to tell the difference between them. I will definitely have to pick up the accessories book- I like that same authors “vintage doll” book which goes over outfits

There is a Barbie accessory book that has belts, shoes, flowers, socks, etc. It helps you match them to outfits. It's called Barbie Accessories.
