Asics Novablast 4 Review

- The ASICS Novablast 4 is a firm-riding daily trainer which is more suited to faster-paced runs than relaxed runs. It doesn’t quite have the same fun, bouncy ride that the early Novablasts had but it still has a relatively lightweight build. Version 4 is firmer and more stable than version 3 due to its new FF Blast+ Eco midsole. It’s also a little bit heavier and not as versatile so it can’t be called an improvement. Runners who prefer a firmer, more stable ride will prefer version 4.

Novablast 4 seems to be leading the way for the most polarizing shoe of 2023. It's either hated or loved... with no in-betweeners.
I agree 100%. I've owned every previous version of the nova blast, all were superior to the nova blast 4. Additionally, the toebox of the 4 is significantly more narrow than previous versions. Blisters galore!
Such a divisive shoe!
Mine come just yesterday, i found it very good as a daily Trainer. Although thats just one short run. Mind you i am on the thicker end with plenty bodyfat
Thanks for sharing! Come leave your thoughts on the site as well, once you put more KMs in!
I am getting the Novablast 3 on sale. I have never run in any Novablasts before. I think I should put a lot of mileage on that one before I can get these and compare. But I trust your reviews. They make sense.
Thanks, glad we could be helpful. Let us know, if you get them, how you like them
Personally I think it's the beat novablast to date. It's more responsive than the 3 slightly former, but the bounce is great for me. It may depend on your weight, I'm 195. It is the best upper I agree with that. For me it's my daily trainer.
Thanks for your feedback! Shoes are a very personal matter.
I'm around that weight and think that alot of reviews are based on much less force going into the midsole. It makes it confusing! I tried this shoe in a store in Copenhagen and it was very soft to me and bouncy. I haven't tried the other ones beforehand mind.
Who makes the 🥝 socks?
It's a shame that what skechers and hokas started several years ago only fuel cell, Mizuno pro and rocket x2 can deliver..the rest are just the same hard foams they've always been..
apparently the new cumulus is now what the novablast used to be at the past
I found the Cumulus 25 quite flat as well tbh. I prefer the predecessor over the 25th iteration. My daily trainer for evth these days is the Saucony Ride 17 though. Haven't had such a great and versatile shoe in years. Just insanely good imo!
@@Reggy9 its quite heavy and no better than the triumph in my opinion
I have around 120km on the new Cumulus. I like it better than the Nova 3 when I tried it in store (haven't tried the 4) and quite a bit cheaper around here. The Nimbus felt too clunky.
Interesting
that's a shame. maybe they made it worse so people would spend more on the nimbus.
I assume the cumulus is more cushioned?
No. So people spent on superblast which is way more expensive than nimbus..
Cumulus 25 also sucks 😅
I personally like the nova blast 4 over the super blast but as many things everyone is different. Love this nova blast 4
Easy to cut your own lace loops 👍
Scary!
Saucony Ride 17 seems much better option 🎉
It's going to be our current daily trainer recommendation (when we update next week)
It's being released in 2024. At this point the Triumph 21 works.
