Skyrim Battles - Fire Karstaag vs. Vampires, Legendary Dragon, Ebony Warrior, and more

- For this very special episode, we have a very special protagonist: My first modded creature! I was wondering what a fire version of Karstaag would be like, so I created one!
My goal wasn't to make a super overpowered creature, but to have a fire equivalent of Karstaag, with mostly the same properties but reversed elements. I left many things such as shock resistance, immunity to poison and ragdoll by unrelenting force, stamina, health regeneration rate, and melee damage the same. I'll upload a comparison video next weekend.
One would think that vampires would do much worse against Charstaag than Karstaag, because of their frost resistance and fire resistance, but the opposite is the case. Karstaag is immune to their frost and highly resistant to their shock spells, while Charstaag is weak to frost. Not only does he take massive damage, but he also gets slowed down and loses all of his stamina quickly, making him unable to stomp. High-level vampires do more damage with their frost than their shock spells in general, making this an even bigger difference. The vampires' resistances and weaknesses are less critical here than their severely more effective destruction spells.
Charstaag's firestorm explosion only causes damage to the surrounding enemies that are not targeted by the stomp. In other words, the target takes damage from the stomp but not from the firestorm, and everoyne else takes damage from the firestorm but not the stomp. That's important to know especially for 1 vs. 1 setups where the opponent is completely safe from the firestorm.
The ragdoll effect is independent and affects everyone close enough, but it does no damage itself.
The map is a custom one I made for this episode.
The lava does fire damage to all NPCs inside it, although it is inconsistent, especially if they're currently ragdolled or getting back up.
Charstaag himself is not affected because of his fire immunity, nor are any other NPCs with the same resistance (for example, Flame Atronachs or the Forgemaster).
The exact damage is always a bit random. The average amount is 137 points per second.
For the dragon round, I deactivated the lava damage because the dragon's hitbox is so large that it overlaps with the lava through the floor, so he would take damage no matter where he's sitting in the arena.
I added the rematch because Charstaag can heal massively during the time a dragon is just flying around, which is a major benefit for Charstaag, the same thing we already had with Karstaag. The constant pressure of a dragon stuck to and attacking on the ground is a bigger challenge for him.
Both the dragon and Charstaag are weak to each other's elements, making this an interesting setup. Charstaag will also stop healing while taking frost damage, just like Karstaag will with fire.
Initially, I was going to have the Karstaag round in this episode, but because there will be a video showing a more detailed comparison between those two, I decided to split it up and put several rounds between them in the bonus video instead. That makes more sense, and it's enough for a whole video by itself. Sorry for the cliffhanger! 😂

The tease at the end, brutal. Also surprised the legendary dragon did t use drain vitality. Thats what makes it such an annoying opponent.
If I make a teaser, it better be worthwhile! 😂
They sometimes decide not to use it, like in the first round with the dragon.
In the rematch, I even had to remove it because there's a bug that prevents them from switching to their normal breath attack after using Drain Vitality. Using only his melee against Charstaag would not do much, so I had to do something about it. 😅
Drain Vitality is almost useless against strong NPCs anyway, especially Charstaag
I don't know what the theme is with Ew vs Charstaag and the end, but damn, The music was intense, it looks like a Pickles fight in Baki hanma XD

2. I love how close the Ebony Warrior gets to killing Charstaag. Literally the only thing holding him back is the fact that he can't abuse game mechanics like the player can to basically make enemy stats meaningless.

People underestimate how much work even simple NPC reworks like this require without having many issues ( mainly the small stuff. Like you mess up a bit of code somewhere and suddenly the entire game is paying for your sins lol )

2. True! I have done dozens of matches between them, and he never quite managed to kill Charstaag, but he can get very close at times. Just a little bit of additional luck would be enough!

When I tried changing his shader so he looks orange instead of blue, his entire model went invisible, leaving nothing but a floating club. I didn't know what went wrong and couldn't fix it, so I had to use a backup 😆
@@lSlendermasterfor Karstaag turning invisible, it could have been a file conflict. Skyrim in particular is *infamous* for having tons of redundant files that literally serve no functional purpose but are in there anyway.
@@filipvadas7602 I eventually figured out what the issue was; I made a custom race, thinking that's where his ghost visuals are coming from, but didn't know you had to connect the model to the new race as well. I've run into the same problem when making his Fire Wraiths, and solved it after a few hours of frustration. Joke's on me, the shader wasn't even part of his race. 😂
Thanks for the hint anyway! I've found tons of things that are unused as well. Skyrim is a pretty messy game, isn't it? 😆

Got Damn and my godness, a Karstaag in fire version, one of the worst elements when someone has a fire aura (because fire does more damage than ice and lightning x.x)
The fights were intense, sad that Ew couldn't beat him ;-;
the next one with Charstaag vs Karstaag.....I feel that there will be several rounds. And surely other powerful npc because the Draugr, ash spawn and forsworn Briarhearth and arch have not come to challenge him.

The Ebony Warrior did surprisingly well, but yeah, his low fire resistance without his shield was his nemesis. 😅
There will indeed be several rounds, but only between Charstaag and Karstaag! Plus some details about their differences. I'll make more Charstaag videos at some point, and it's good to save some setups for later 😎

Awesome Fight I Fire Karstaag was Genius he looks so beast to xD now what would be even cooler if he also summoned storm call and Alduins shout with the comets at random to that would be insane with this combo xD more worthy of a God then
Thank you! 😎 I wanted him to be similar to Karstaag except for the elements, but I've also been working on a shock version. This one is MUCH stronger, and his stomps have a Storm Call effect with lightning strikes, plus the ragdoll force from the stomp is an order of magnitude higher. When I make a video of him sometime (not now), it will be spectacular 😆

Thanks! 😁 I might at some point, but it would probably be really hard to pull off. Lots of things to consider, and some things would be completely broken.
I also think I need more modding experience in general. So maybe in the future, but not so soon 😅
@@lSlendermasterIn fact, it's not very difficult, there are many videos on how to create NPCs in the Creation kit, how to add weapons, perks, shout and so on. And yes, you are right, many things don’t work for them, I can tell you and answer your questions if you want 😊
@@RtoonCa I mean more like difficulties with balancing. Many things in Skyrim are absolutely overpowered (Marked for Death, any sort of stagger spam, and dual-wield, just to name a few). I would have to restrict some things, or otherwise, we would have very broken and boring matches. But which ones we should allow and which not is difficult to tell. 😅

@@lSlendermasterYes, I tried creating an NPC, giving him weapons and armor with enchantments, shouting and perks. If you create such a tournament, you really need to draw up rules and introduce some prohibitions. Ideally, you need to install an unofficial patch, this will help avoid a large number of bans and add balance. For example, this patch fixes Marked for Death, critical damage from crossbows, bows and swords, as well as an issue with summoning creatures, Spell Absorbtion, and the Whirlwind Cloak.
The list of prohibitions will include weapons and spells with paralysis, wabbajack, Mehrunes' razor, Windshear, as well as a perk that ignores armor with hammers and maces (or leave it only allowed at 25%). There are a few more points, I only talked about the most important
@@RtoonCa You're definitely right about those points! The Wabbajack would be pretty funny, but we couldn't allow that. 😂
I don't use the Unofficial Patch because it changes too many things, and it's not available for my game version anyway (I play SE, not AE). I would probably have to make my own fixes instead.

Yeah, unfortunately. I'm not sure why or how to prevent that. Usually, NPCs don't do any damage to allies, even with AoE spells like fireball or blizzard.

Oh yeah, quite a lot. He's my first modded creature so I had to figure out so many things. Adding most of his abilities like the cloak and firestorm was rather simple, but changing his shader and making his Fire Wraiths work took way too many hours.
The map itself was a challenge too. There are still some things unresolved (for example, NPCs won't avoid the lava and sometimes run straight into it, dying very quickly), but for now, it's alright.

All giants can use it, including Karstaag. It's just pretty rare. 😂 In fact, Charstaag also uses it at against the dragon at 3:23

I used the command "addspell 8358a" on him. This applies a Flightlessness spell to the dragon which prevents him from flying and makes him go down if he's currently airborne, much like Dragonrend.

Definitely Karstaag. Him and the Ebony Warrior are on a totally different level than any other bosses. Karstaag is generally more dangerous, but the Ebony Warrior is more balanced and also has ranged attacks, so it mainly depends on whom they're fighting 😄
