2 minutes is the time used to present the sponsor of the video in other popular English channel... So, yes well done! Two minutes for the lesson itself! Right to the point and pretty useful. Smashing.
Your just awesome. Shout out to you for giving us your time. I love your humour and I love your personality.Thank you so much. ......grammerly challenged human.....
Thank you very much for your golden tips. Short video-lessons are great, a learner can watch them multipe of times and fully get the information that will accordingly stick to the memory. Keep it up please!
Great explanation, as usual. When I first has a lesson on this subject I made up two sentences, I'm used to doing this, to memorize the stop + to and the stop doing. I've never done this before in my life, but I feel like doing it now. " I stopped ( reading the newspaper) to answer the phone." " I stopped answering the phone since Paul broke up with me.I don't want to hear his voice anymore." Is it okay?
U r amazing! U r the most underrated English teacher on UA-cam but that doesn't mean that ur videos r lesser than anyone else's. Keep posting such informative vdos.
Hi, Gideon. I was always addicted to grammar lessons. Frankly, I am looking forward to them. Even though the subject of today's lesson was known to me. By the way, could I say "the subject of today's lesson was not unknown to me?"
Great video, Gideon. Good idea to cut to the chase, I support you. However, I’ll always be on your side))), because I love your lessons and my English is getting better over time watching your videos. Good vibes!
Hi, Gideon. Thank you for your brief lesson. It was very useful. I would be very grateful if you could make a lesson about "speculations" with modal verbs (either in present tense or in the past tense), because I have got a lot of doubts about this part of grammar. Thanks again for your great lessons! I always appreciate them very much.
What about this question Mr. Gideon? -> “I stopped shaving to rewind your 2 minute video?” How can I express the fact of carrying out 3 actions in sequence (in this case the 1st being stopping, the 2nd being shaving and the 3rd being rewinding the video)? Is my sentence correct and do You know any other cases of “difficult combination of action verbs”? Thank You a lot. You are definitely and undoubtedly a great, passionate teacher. Thank You so much for all your explanatory videos! Hope You can leave a reply. :)
It is really just two actions: the stopping of shaving and watching the video. Combinations are almost as simple as just one. "When I heard the band playing I stopped walking, started dancing, then sprained my back." Each is said as if it was a single action alone. "I stopped walking. I started dancing. I sprained my back." "Then" or "and" is added before the last thing to give a clue to the listener that it is the last item on the list. "When the thief heard the police sirens he dropped the loot, started running, and tripped over his own feet."
Excellent can 't help watching yours vids and particulary these 2 minute lgrammar lessons .It so clear and easy ,my english has got better since i subscribed tu your channel. keep it up Gideon!
You're always so smart: that's a great initiative, provided that the topic is simple enough to be taught in 2 minutes. Anyway, I really enjoy your useful and valuable lessons, so listening to your voice and to your explanations is lovely and I prefer to spend more time on your video than less time.
Hi Gideon, I noticed this sentences (time 3.20): I stopped in order to smoke a cigarette. Same meaning and it's 2 actions. Why didn't you say: ... and they're 2 actions? Actions - plural and it's - singular. Or it's comes from it has? Thank you for your reply.
I had an English language proficiency test yesterday and I wrote correctly, as you explained here, but it was still wrong. Could it be that "grammar people" are not on the same page on this issue? Nice video again, but you do have audio problems sometimes, not a big deal anyway. Have a nice day
Sorry for off-topic, but could you please tell me, what kind of British accents this woman speaks with? This is from Billy Elliot movie. ua-cam.com/video/uDISBx2Ry7s/v-deo.html
nuri çakır it means like ‘stay relaxed’ or ‘stay chill’ etc. It’s not really used in general conversation, in this case it’s used as a sort of ‘peace out’ ending if that makes sense ~ English person

Hello. Thank you for the lesson. What do you mean by "stay mellow" ?
I'm not even sure myself.
"stay mellow" > to be calm and kind
Hi Gideon,
I noticed this sentences (time 3.20): I stopped in order to smoke a cigarette. Same meaning and it's 2 actions. Why didn't you say: ... and they're 2 actions? Actions - plural and it's - singular. Or it's comes from it has? Thank you for your reply.

I have never been there but would like to go.
you are N1
I've been trying to learn English.
I've been trying learning English.
What's the difference?
What you stop is the direct object (ing). To infinitive is the purpose. I stopped eating to lose weight. A direct object can never be to infinitive
Great and nice as usual
What about of TRY TO DO AND TRY + ING? THX
We have already made a video on that topic
What is the difference between 2 minute and 2 minutes ?

What’s the meaning of “stay mellow” ? You always use that phrase in the end of your videos.

I stopped to hear the news to watch your video
With these shorter videos we won't waste your time. Enter endless faff.
To make sure I understood this one, I could say that now I have seen this short video, I’m going to stop watching your longer ones... Just kidding!
