The one that you hinted at but did not actually articulate is the ability to think outside of the box. The PRC is a totalitarian state that does not encourage outside the box thinking. As a former intelligence analyst in the US Army Reserves who has been deployed to a combat zone I can personally attest to the importance of outside the box thinking along with being homest with with oneself regarding ones own strengths and weaknesses. India, like the US has after action reviews down to the platoon level. Everyone gets a chance to speak. This simply does not happen in the PRC. It was for these 2 reasons why I had initially predicted that Kiev would fall in 2 months time, whilst the standard analysis predicted Russian victory within 1 weeks time max. I now believe that Ukraine will ultimately be victorious. In large part due to US and EU support. This could change if the Iranians and/or Chinese become directly involved. When the mighty Russian airforce could not overwhelm the Ukrainian Airforce what can these duplicate Russian airforce do to India. The anti air defence batteries in the Himalayas will prove a formidable challenge. The elephant has woken up and when it starts charging the dragon will be blown out of sight.
Here is the assessment this is missed out. 1. Why would Chinese resort to large deployment in Himalayas when holding ground is difficult all time of the year. Even in 1962, they entered Arunachal plains and quickly retuned realizing the futility of holding it in a protracted war. 2. Long protracted war in the Himalayas is absolutely suicidal for Chinese as just below the Tibetan plateau lies vast Indian plains which can provide logistics support due to huge population while China has to bring the supplies from 3000 kms away. The biggest city in Tibet Lhasa has population of 3 million, a population a small town in Northern state holds. After few weeks China would be fighting a defensive battle. 3. The infrastructure is now marched and most of the advanced lying grounds are in India which are at sea level allowing Indian fighters to carry heavy weights while reaching high altitude something that Chinese can’t do. The landing grounds for Chinese are not only at high altitude but also difficult to acclimatize easily for Chinese. Remember the Air Force must be matched with ground troops as well which is again a challenge. 4. Somebody talked about numbers Chinese cannot completely shift their entire Air Force to Himalayan theatre. While India can, Pakistani theatre is increasingly irrelevant for India as a broke Pakistan cannot mount a challenge, even as distraction. 5. Even if China has twice number of jets say 200 jets for every 100 that India can deploy, China cannot bring more than 40% to the Himalayan theatre. Even if it brings as many jets, the infrastructure in Tibet doesn’t support such huge numbers because it needs ground support as well. Even if it manages to pull in ground support, it needs 3 fighters for every jet just to low carrying capacity. 5. China can of course use long range bombers in Himalayas but they are few, about 6 which can barely effect an outcome. India can easily handle by creating props, facades as diversion. India due to large advanced landing grounds can also fly more missions and hours. It can also use various other flying machines like Apache, chetak and LCH helicopters and keep supplying troops. China will unnecessarily dragged into a protracted war it cannot win since for China it’s not mainland and far away from border but for India it is where it is mainland and most of the population lives just down the Tibetan plateau.

Geography in on india's side because india's airfields are in the plains where the air is thick enough for combat aircraft to take-off with full fuel and weapons load. China's aircraft cannot do that because its airfields are at high-altitude where the air is thin.

There is definitely a point in war when the quantity of equipment dominates over quality of equipment, and that too when India will face a 2 front war which it will definitely in the future. it will be extremely difficult if there is a ratio of total 20 Chinese and Pakistani Jets to 1 IAF Jet, no matter how advanced the IAF Jet is. The numbers are also very important.

IAF has the advantage of nearby Airfields in the plains. Whereas Tibet is at a very high altitude meaning Chinese aircrafts can not carray as much weapons.
What most people do not consider is the will of Indians to die for their motherland. Post world war which ever conflict has happened anywhere in the world the losing side has always surrendered or retreated from their position. But in 1962 indo-china war. Indian Army battalions stationed in what is now called aksai chin were heavily out gunned both in quantity and quality wrt their chinese counter part. There was 1:10 LMG ratio between indian and chinese side respectively. But still no platoon or battalion of IA retreated and left their post, They died where they stood. It was a failure on Indian Govts part on Indian Army’s. The guts of our defence forces to never back down is what is gonna give us edge now that we have comparable fire power.

If you look back in History, we have fought more wars than anyone defending, and the same fire remains in every Indian (you can see that difference in Ind-China skirmish videos too), even if the IAF was not there the last Indian person would fight for the country. Thats the reason, China can never defeat us, especially now with all the resources.

I think the biggest advantage the IAF has is where the aircrafts would take-off from in the event of a large conflict with China. Indian air bases near the border are below the threshold to allow the jet to take-off with a full payload. Chinese air bases near the border are higher up, and wont be able to manage the same weight to thrust ratio.

if US agrees to transfer F-35 (2 squadrons) and India is able to get 1 squadron of SU-57 and S-500 from Russia, then that will put and end to China’s threat. AMCA is still 5 years away and China will get into 6th Gen by then.. so we need US to understand this issue and support in transferring F-35, replace MIG-21 by Tejas MK-1A (GE must not further delay engine supply) and India must also grt the Kaveri engine up and running in a Tejas flight asap!! I won't even say China.. PLA can't match the IAF .. the terrain advantage is massive. And PLA fighters have very poor availability.. most are not fit for flight.. IAF flight officers are absolutely brutal when it comes to war.. these guys will take down the enemy with absolutely anything that can fly. All Indian IAF assets are in sync in the air. Imagine Russian, French and US weapons on one or many jets.. the interoperability and integrated command and fire capacity is nuts in IAF. This is unique and madness.. imagine a Rafael detects the enemy, a Mirage 2000 or Sukhoi paints it and a Tejas takes it down. Multiple platforms work to engage enemy from all directions and altitudes... Plus these are combat tested pilots.. in Sky IAF is not an enemy anyone with sense will pick a fight.
Don't forget India has SU30MKI and Rafale which is a combat proven and very capable aircrafts unlike J20 which is not known if it is any good plus India has S400
There is one major factor you have ignored - the disparity in manufacturing capacity between China and India. As well as the resilience of their supply chain for spare parts. If China loses a J-10 or J-16, it can crank out 10 more of them to replace it within a few months. If India loses a single Rafale or Su-30, it may take a year to source all the parts in just to manufacture one replacement. Because China doesn't have to source any spare parts in from anywhere else - they are the knockoff manufacturing hub of the world. India will most likely have to deal with UN imposed sanctions brought against it by P-5 member China. And China holds a significant amount of American debt. Plus, they've been cozying up to Russia. If the balloon goes up, all China needs to do is outlast India.

China takes off from a high altitude, their planes are already under heavy stress and must burn lot of fuel to reach India. They’re at a huge disadvantage also due to the Himalayas restricting their movement. It’s very difficult for China to use air power, they must rely on their rocket force.
IAF doesn't have 900 fighter planes as you mentioned , we have 600 fighter planes and 900 'fighter pilots' we will ramp up for sure in coming years but so will our adversaries . Another factor is that China can't or won't deploy it's entire Air force against India while India will commit a large % of it's forces in a confrontation against China. I highly doubt a full scale engagement will take place though, but the only way to ensure peace is to humble China and keep a huge deterrence force. India needs to slowly phase out imports from China, and so should all other Quad and democratic countries. China can't be the massive bully it is once it stops being an export powerhouse.
Pilot quality and Tactics are IAF’s ace in the hole. While quantity is a quality in itself real pilot quality will trump in air combat. Having said that, IAF needs to shore up its falling squadrons and induct other upcoming fighters ( Tejas MKII, AMCA) soon. Well done video! You have taken into account one of the two elements most analyst's miss. The one you took into account was the international alliances. The one that you hinted at but did not actually articulate is the ability to think outside of the box. The PRC is a totalitarian state that does not encourage outside the box thinking. As a former intelligence analyst in the US Army Reserves who has been deployed to a combat zone I can personally attest to the importance of outside the box thinking along with being homest with with oneself regarding ones own strengths and weaknesses. India, like the US has after action reviews down to the platoon level. Everyone gets a chance to speak. This simply does not happen in the PRC.
It was for these 2 reasons why I had initially predicted that Kiev would fall in 2 months time, whilst the standard analysis predicted Russian victory within 1 weeks time max. I now believe that Ukraine will ultimately be victorious. In large part due to US and EU support. This could change if the Iranians and/or Chinese become directly involved.

Here is the assessment this is missed out.
1. Why would Chinese resort to large deployment in Himalayas when holding ground is difficult all time of the year. Even in 1962, they entered Arunachal plains and quickly retuned realizing the futility of holding it in a protracted war.
2. Long protracted war in the Himalayas is absolutely suicidal for Chinese as just below the Tibetan plateau lies vast Indian plains which can provide logistics support due to huge population while China has to bring the supplies from 3000 kms away. The biggest city in Tibet Lhasa has population of 3 million, a population a small town in Northern state holds.
After few weeks China would be fighting a defensive battle.
3. The infrastructure is now marched and most of the advanced lying grounds are in India which are at sea level allowing Indian fighters to carry heavy weights while reaching high altitude something that Chinese can’t do.
The landing grounds for Chinese are not only at high altitude but also difficult to acclimatize easily for Chinese. Remember the Air Force must be matched with ground troops as well which is again a challenge.
4. Somebody talked about numbers Chinese cannot completely shift their entire Air Force to Himalayan theatre. While India can, Pakistani theatre is increasingly irrelevant for India as a broke Pakistan cannot mount a challenge, even as distraction.
5. Even if China has twice number of jets say 200 jets for every 100 that India can deploy, China cannot bring more than 40% to the Himalayan theatre.
Even if it brings as many jets, the infrastructure in Tibet doesn’t support such huge numbers because it needs ground support as well.
Even if it manages to pull in ground support, it needs 3 fighters for every jet just to low carrying capacity.
5. China can of course use long range bombers in Himalayas but they are few, about 6 which can barely effect an outcome.
India can easily handle by creating props, facades as diversion.
India due to large advanced landing grounds can also fly more missions and hours.
It can also use various other flying machines like Apache, chetak and LCH helicopters and keep supplying troops.
China will unnecessarily dragged into a protracted war it cannot win since for China it’s not mainland and far away from border but for India it is where it is mainland and most of the population lives just down the Tibetan plateau.

There is definitely a point in war when the quantity of equipment dominates over quality of equipment, and that too when India will face a 2 front war which it will definitely in the future. it will be extremely difficult if there is a ratio of total 20 Chinese and Pakistani Jets to 1 IAF Jet, no matter how advanced the IAF Jet is. The numbers are also very important.

If you look back in History, we have fought more wars than anyone defending, and the same fire remains in every Indian (you can see that difference in Ind-China skirmish videos too), even if the IAF was not there the last Indian person would fight for the country. Thats the reason, China can never defeat us, especially now with all the resources.

I think the biggest advantage the IAF has is where the aircrafts would take-off from in the event of a large conflict with China. Indian air bases near the border are below the threshold to allow the jet to take-off with a full payload. Chinese air bases near the border are higher up, and wont be able to manage the same weight to thrust ratio.

if US agrees to transfer F-35 (2 squadrons) and India is able to get 1 squadron of SU-57 and S-500 from Russia, then that will put and end to China’s threat. AMCA is still 5 years away and China will get into 6th Gen by then.. so we need US to understand this issue and support in transferring F-35, replace MIG-21 by Tejas MK-1A (GE must not further delay engine supply) and India must also grt the Kaveri engine up and running in a Tejas flight asap!! We also need F-21 or F-15 ex for naval ships to handle a two front war with Pakistan and China

PLA can't match the IAF .. the terrain advantage is massive. And PLA fighters have very poor availability.. most are not fit for flight..
IAF flight officers are absolutely brutal when it comes to war.. these guys will take down the enemy with absolutely anything that can fly.
All Indian IAF assets are in sync in the air. Imagine Russian, French and US weapons on one or many jets.. the interoperability and integrated command and fire capacity is nuts in IAF.
This is unique and madness.. imagine a Rafael detects the enemy, a Mirage 2000 or Sukhoi paints it and a Tejas takes it down. Multiple platforms work to engage enemy from all directions and altitudes... Plus these are combat tested pilots.. in Sky IAF is not an enemy anyone with sense will pick a fight.
Don't forget India has SU30MKI and Rafale which is a combat proven and very capable aircrafts unlike J20 which is not known if it is any good plus India has S400

There is one major factor you have ignored - the disparity in manufacturing capacity between China and India. As well as the resilience of their supply chain for spare parts. If China loses a J-10 or J-16, it can crank out 10 more of them to replace it within a few months. If India loses a single Rafale or Su-30, it may take a year to source all the parts in just to manufacture one replacement. Because China doesn't have to source any spare parts in from anywhere else - they are the knockoff manufacturing hub of the world. India will most likely have to deal with UN imposed sanctions brought against it by P-5 member China. And China holds a significant amount of American debt. Plus, they've been cozying up to Russia. If the balloon goes up, all China needs to do is outlast India.

China takes off from a high altitude, their planes are already under heavy stress and must burn lot of fuel to reach India. They’re at a huge disadvantage also due to the Himalayas restricting their movement. It’s very difficult for China to use air power, they must rely on their rocket force.
IAF doesn't have 900 fighter planes as you mentioned , we have 600 fighter planes and 900 'fighter pilots' we will ramp up for sure in coming years but so will our adversaries . From India but living bubble makes 0 sense , you end up like Pak if you stay in hypothetical bubble of being superior and the day it pop's you lose when your entire nation is counting on your unit . Another factor is that China can't or won't deploy it's entire Air force against India while India will commit a large % of it's forces in a confrontation against China. I highly doubt a full scale engagement will take place though, but the only way to ensure peace is to humble China and keep a huge deterrence force. India needs to slowly phase out imports from China, and so should all other Quad and democratic countries. China can't be the massive bully it is once it stops being an export powerhouse.

Pilot quality and Tactics are IAF’s ace in the hole. While quantity is a quality in itself real pilot quality will trump in air combat. Having said that, IAF needs to shore up its falling squadrons and induct other upcoming fighters ( Tejas MKII, AMCA) soon. Tejas by itself once armed with Astra MKII & MKIII will terrorise the paper tiger!!
Get italian and spanish help like partners and currencies for make in india projects from those two nations. Rafale are scanty. Need mrfa,mro and R&D facilities for dassault aviation. We are ranked higher because of our trainings and a bit better strategies. Need to engage the network of satellites to protect our airspace. Need to setup boeing and lockheed martin plants in the near future asap.
