My pleasure to drop you the SKX! Very happy and thankful with the Jubilee bracelet from our last deal. 😊 Love the NY2300, i used to own one before. Before when they were still plentiful in the market. I sold mine and since then there was that small regret. That regret kept me trying to get one back again, but i told my self that i will only get one that will stay because my collection is growing and i can't afford to have a bigger watch box. But for the SKX its a different story for me, as i own 3 SKX009. I dont know what it is with the SKX that i still find it good looking even if its beaten up to the ground. Its comparable to a Raw jeans for a Denim head guy. Everything on the SKX is sexy for me, the stamped info and Tsunami on the caseback, the case finish and polish, the case geometry that still represent the older iconic Seiko Divers 62Mas and Capt. Willard, the circle indices the lume pip and bezel insert texture. I dont mind that it has the 7s26, i dont need a watch that breaks my bank when service time comes, with the skx that will never happen. For me its a True iconic watch, one that has the Brands genes in it.
Great video. I have both of these watches, the key difference is that the Citizen is NOT an ISO certified divers watch, but the Seiko is. Only an ISO certified watch can say DIVERS on the dial. The equivalent Citizen is the NY0040.
I went into a Seiko Outlet store in 2008 and saw an SKX007. It was about $200. The woman working in the store told me it didn't hack or wind. I thought, "why do I want a watch that doesn't hack or wind"? Of course, I wish I had bought it.
I remember seeing lots of those Ny2300 back in 2016-2017 at a local shop. It only costs around $100-$120 that time. I wish I had gotten one of these. 😅
