Your hack of using a potato masher to chop up hard boiled eggs is a brilliant idea. Doing that with a fork takes ages, and it's still too lumpy. Will definitely be trying that, thanks 👍.
Using a potato masher MASHES the egg. The white part is near to mush. This would only be good for an egg spread. If you're aiming for a classic egg salad sandwich, you'd be better off using a butter knife. First slice it, length & width, then chop it. If you have large chunks, it's likely you forget to slice it both directions, before chopping.
WOW - How Clever!! I Loved: 1. the poached egg idea, 2. OMG lining the egg carton with foil & using instead of a baking dish AND 3. plastic lining for ice-cube tray!! 4. What a delicious but simple pastry dish!! 5. Coffee ice cubes for my cold coffee with milk. 6.Sifting without spilling out & wasting. 7. Aw MAN the Paper towel in the drawer idea!! 8. Meat ball measurer - I'm gonna try it for making Indian Chapatis, too!! 9. Using the 1/2 toilet paper roll for germinating seedlings. 10. Hard boil eggs mashing for sandwiches. 11. Potato pealing now a synch. And last but not least Brilliant idea 12. Fried eggs do NOT have to be oily!! I'm a Tough Critic, and not impressed easily, plus I debunk a lot of junk on the web, but your video was not only impressive - I was WOWed - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! I learned the apple trick when I was a child, over 50 years ago! I taught my late dad to poach eggs like you did, but with a splash of vinegar added to the water. He was so proud that he could do it himself! I like chunkier egg mayo, so if I'm making a lot, I'll use the pastry cutter, otherwise two sharp knives do the job. I've used a spoon handle many a time to release a jar lid, but sometimes I gently pour hot water over the lid and it expands enough to open it. I do like watching your tips in the kitchen! Thank you.
Your hacks are genius and so useful. I have tried most of them and it worked. The step by step instructions are so clear and visible. You make it so easy.👍👍👍

@@-OhThatGuyAgain- Sometime ago I saw a Gordon Ramsay video where he suggests adding a tablespoon of water to the oil in the pan....just using water is interesting as it will result in poached rather than fried eggs.

Thank you so much for the 3 ways to open a sealed glass jar. I have so much trouble and as I get older, the problem gets worse. That sieve trick is awesome. And you have changed my life with the fried egg in the water trick. Frying and then trying to flip eggs has always been a problem for me. Now I'm going to make them perfectly all the time.
There's another jar one that you don't have to use pressure to open it. You take a butter knife hold the handle with the back side of the knife facing the lid. Then tap along the edge of the lid three or for spots around the lid then u will have a lid that was stuck tight open easy. Especially if it's never been popped open yet and still has the suction.(button on top of jar still indented inward instead off outward )

The ice cube and meatball hacks are brilliant!! I will try the poached egg hack as I have a round silicone mold that I have used for melt-and-pour soap in the past, but I'll bet if I wash it good, I can poach eggs in it. I will watch this over and over! Thank you for this awesome video!!
I believe the term is "basted". I get about two orders per year at my restaurant on average... Fried in water and steamed with a dome. I make eggs benedict far more often, so I poach quite a bit. No snark, just passing on some kitchen stuff. :)
I've never seen an apple split in half like that, very cool!! I've grated hard boiled eggs for a long time rather than chopping them all up...I use a half inch wide rubber band that comes on produce to open jars. I just stretch the band over the lid and turn...Voila! Works every time and works on other stubborn to turn lids and caps such as those on salad dressing bottles....

I can't express what I want to say, but I have seen few people demonstrate such cleverness. Thank you so much for your videos! Lol and using a spoon would also work for getting them the same size. And honestly probably wouldn't take any longer than setting up the plastic on the egg carton unless your feeding an army. You still have to roll them anyway sooo.....
Use a cookie scoop. I make a large amount of meatloaf mix. About half goes into a muffin or mini loaf pan to bake for dinner. Add sausage to the remaining half for meatballs
Love your great hacks. Especially this one I just watched. The poached eggs all in one go and the the strawberry puff pastry, ricing the boiled eggs and cutting into the potatoes before boiling. THANKS SO MUCH!
I use an electric chopper for my hard boiled eggs when making egg salad. If you have arthritis, it is much easier on the hands and wrists that a potato ricer. I chop the olives right in with them.
Beautiful, thank you. How resourceful and down-to-earth. These things are usually never taught, but you pick them up watching your parents in the kitchen or otherwise doing the home-jobs. Here's such a rich and encompassing set... I thing you could come with "1001 usages for eggs carton" and stuff like that. Only it would overwhelm watchers/readers. These videos are perfect. Thanks! 2 things I'll pick from this one -- 1. poaching eggs in water in the frying pan (I'm on a diet, and this could save me a nice bunch of calories). 2. the coffee ice-cubes (well, I do have silicon ice trays, but this looks wonderful for guests - 2-3 cubes in a glass of milk should make them very happy). Of course all the rest is great, and I'll probably use the sifting trick too - but the first two things I'll use right away.
Can’t wait to try the coffee ice cubes in milk...a summer treat for sure! The potatoes, the eggs, the meatballs! All great ideas. Don’t have a professional potato masher, so I use my pastry cutter for hard cooked eggs, tuna, and chicken shredding. Also, I use my nut cracker for smaller lids and bottle caps! Blessings!🌹
An easy at-work lunch for me is to put shelled boiled eggs, mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper in a zip-top bag, squeeze it with my fingers, fold down the top, and squeeze out the egg salad on bread or greens 😊
That was a kind compliment. Thank you. I come from a line of cooks who had to make do with what they had, both in the old country and upon their arrival in the US. I’m inspired by your special creativity in introducing things I’ve never thought of. There is still so much to learn from you youngsters! 💙
Toilet paper has a powder chemical in it. I would not use it in place of real soil. I use to live near Royale factory and the sky above it had its own white cloud with a powder lingering in the air. I moved shortly after noticing it and spoke to a worker there who told me that it is dangerous.
My hack for opening a jar is to use an old fashioned bottle opener, the kind you would use to open a bottle of beer or soda back in the day. Put the pointed end under the lip of the bottle and using gentle pressure, especially if you are opening a glass jar, pull the lid way from the bottle. You should hear the same click when it opens as in the video. If that doesn't work sometimes simply running a bit of hot water around the lid expands it enough that you can get the jar open.
@christinatakacs6791 - I would hit the bottom of the jar/bottle in the center with the heel of my had a couple times till you hear it pop. Or tap the whole thing upside down on the counter a couple times. If that didn't work (usually did) hitting the side of the lid with the handle end of a table knife in the direction to unscrew it did the trick.
Thanks again for these great hacks. I have been squeezing my jar lids since seeing you do it on one of your other videos. The toilet paper hack for the seeds is amazing . Can't wait to try that one. Oh and frying an egg in water is another one I am going to try and then when the water has cooled I can use it to water my tomato plants.
I've been able to split an apple it off with my hands so I was a kid. It's a trick my dad showed me. Over the years I found it really alarms men to see a meet girl tear something apart with her bare hands.. I have many a chuckle over this
I have never seen an apple split in half like that. Amazing! And I liked the fried egg in water. I'll have to try that. As for using a potato ricer for hard boiled eggs, it looks like it works well, but I like my egg salad chunkier.
Instead of putting jam inside the egg carton pastry you could put a little small cube of cream cheese with the strawberries and then you would have something similar tasting to a Tim Hortons strawberry and cream cheese turnover pastry

Thank you for all these awesome tips❣️ something for you... instead of mustard in your egg salad, use plenty of Mayo, and then add a few pinches of curry powder, and some chopped celery or green onion💕
I just put my paper towel roll in a kitchen drawer.😊 Also going to make some iced coffee cubes. p.s. That’s the 1st time I’ve seen an apple split like that. Thanks. 💕
really nice hacks again! Thank you! I also use as an breakfast dip eggs, mayonaise, tomato ketchup (or curry ketchup) salt and pepper. Also really nice, and you can also use carrot rasp and Maggi aromat to put with the eggs, is also very nice. As a dip for Lays potato chips also mayonaise and a bit of bouillon powder is a very good dip! I make it more fluid with a few drops of water.. A salad I make from leak, very thin sliced and some sliced ham, and also added some mayonaise salt and pepper.. really nice on toast. My favorite dressing however is mayonaise, tomato ketchup, salt and pepper, and a little bit of full cream and a few drops of worchestershire sauce , that dressing is also nice for surimi, crab or salmon, but I use it for several salads. For making very good saté, I put meat (chicken, shoulder chops or tenderloin) in a mix of soy sauce, djahé, salt, sambal oelek, garlic, pepper and salt, and a little bit of trassi, and leave it for a few hours. I make the saté sauce, with ordinary cheap peanutbutter, a dash of milk, stir until resolved, and add the marinade from the flesh into it. if necessary add a little bit of water or soy sauce to make it more smooth, grill the meat and add the sauce.. delicious..
❤ thanks for the interesting video .. I'm watching in New Zealand. I also learned the apple halving trick as a child in Australia where as children we all tried perfecting it 😊 The egg cracking on flat surface is my way too and works well with gentle confidence ❤
I really enjoyed your video. I thought the silicone poached eggs was a great idea! Also, the toilet paper and micro-seed hack was something I didn't know about. Thanks for all your interesting hacks. I send blessings to you from Australia.
I’m from Melbourne Australia and we used cotton pads you use for your make up to put the seeds in as well. Toilet paper seems precious now we’ve come out of lockdown. Best gadget I got was a jar opener that pops the seal making it easier to use great video thank you
We used to twist apples in half as children. I always open jars by just banging them on the counter to break the seal. I remove stuck bottle tops by wedging the lid in the crack of a door then turn the actual bottle with my hand. Thank you for this video . I liked all your clever hacks 😊
You can also tap the lid on the side of the glass jar on the edge of the bench top. You’re just needing to break the air seal, a bread and butter knife does the same thing as the fork one he showed.
Putting pressure with your palms on the jar lid .. is very risky. I know someone who pressed a bit to hard and glass cut so deep into his hands that he could hardly use his hands again. So .. rather not. But using the fork or a spoon to lift the lid on the bottle, works perfectly .. even a rubber band and then a twist.
Every time I go to my mum’s house she has some new ingenious something I never thought of ice cube tray! She’s done the egg trays before. We’ve had ferrero rocher containers, toffifee containers, etc. My mum makes me laugh so much.

It's true that many of these practical tips and tricks are often acquired through observation or passed down from generation to generation. ❤❤
Blessings!🌹
It's great to see how creative and inventive you are in the kitchen! 🌟🍽️🙏
You could also use a cheese grater for the butter or the eggs
Or for frozen butter or frozen or hard cheese I also use a potato peeler .
Always enjoyable to watch your videos ! Problem is trying to remember all these great ideas ! Great job!
Keep up the good work and happy cooking!

Toilet paper has a powder chemical in it. I would not use it in place of real soil. I use to live near Royale factory and the sky above it had its own white cloud with a powder lingering in the air. I moved shortly after noticing it and spoke to a worker there who told me that it is dangerous.
Your well-being and safety always come first!
@@WebspoonWorld yes,
That’s what the powdery smell is, right? That powder?
@@daynasafranek7807 Oh, yes. Not healthy at all.
It's fine. Just don't breathe it.

Brilliant!!
I like the ice cube tray the most.
Keep’’em coming.

Thank you for sharing these helpful suggestions!
So do i!
I always use the hot water. If there's none boiling, I usually get them open with a rubber glove.
I do the same.
I have many a chuckle over this
😂👍
I have never seen an apple split in half like that. Amazing! And I liked the fried egg in water. I'll have to try that. As for using a potato ricer for hard boiled eggs, it looks like it works well, but I like my egg salad chunkier.
They can be fun and useful tricks to try in the kitchen. As for the potato ricer, it can indeed create a smoother texture for egg salad :)
Really great ideas. One has never thought of using egg containers in so many ways... No need to buy silicone baking pans or ice cube trays...
;)
Always the best kitchen hacks!
Thanks! 💖
Instead of putting jam inside the egg carton pastry you could put a little small cube of cream cheese with the strawberries and then you would have something similar tasting to a Tim Hortons strawberry and cream cheese turnover pastry
That's a fantastic suggestion!😋🍓🧀
9:31 egg slicer cut rotate 180 cut nice and chunky eggs bit O mayonnaise / sweet relish
toasted chunky egg salad sandwich with a bowl of chicken noodle soup and a glass of cold milk 🤩🤗

Thank you for all these awesome tips❣️ something for you... instead of mustard in your egg salad, use plenty of Mayo, and then add a few pinches of curry powder, and some chopped celery or green onion💕
🇺🇸 here. My grandmother taught me to use mayo, salt and chopped sweet pickles.
Wish I had known you could make ice cubes out of an egg carton that is a great idea. I love your channel and look forward to all up your videos.
Phantastic Tipps!🎉 Thank you from Germany!

I whacked my eggs just like you did! I’ll be back to cooking as soon as I get the stitches out…😊
I have stitches also now, I squeezed the glass jar too hard.
Get well!

Love the poached eggs hack!! I could watch these hacks all day long. So interesting.
😊😊❤
I make the saté sauce, with ordinary cheap peanutbutter, a dash of milk, stir until resolved, and add the marinade from the flesh into it. if necessary add a little bit of water or soy sauce to make it more smooth, grill the meat and add the sauce.. delicious..
Your combination of eggs, mayonnaise, tomato ketchup (or curry ketchup), salt, and pepper sounds like a tasty and versatile dip.
❤ thanks for the interesting video .. I'm watching in New Zealand.
I also learned the apple halving trick as a child in Australia where as children we all tried perfecting it 😊
The egg cracking on flat surface is my way too and works well with gentle confidence ❤
sending love, good things come to those who wait, did you get to watch this at live?
Best tips EVER!!!!!
Thanks!
I really enjoyed your video. I thought the silicone poached eggs was a great idea! Also, the toilet paper and micro-seed hack was something I didn't know about. Thanks for all your interesting hacks. I send blessings to you from Australia.
Where I live, north of Seattle, WA, a roll of toilet paper is far more expensive than a little dirt and baking soda! Interesting idea, tho.
Stay inspired and keep discovering new hacks! 🌟🍳🌱🇦🇺 Blessings to you too!
I’m from Melbourne Australia and we used cotton pads you use for your make up to put the seeds in as well. Toilet paper seems precious now we’ve come out of lockdown. Best gadget I got was a jar opener that pops the seal making it easier to use great video thank you
Never saw the apple hack before! I love the egg carton tricks...now all I have to do is figure out what to do with the eggs in the meantime! thanks
😉🤗
Fry them this way or poach. lol

What clever and useful ideas! Thanks!!
Be sure to try them!
We used to twist apples in half as children. I always open jars by just banging them on the counter to break the seal. I remove stuck bottle tops by wedging the lid in the crack of a door then turn the actual bottle with my hand. Thank you for this video . I liked all your clever hacks 😊
I love your slow, relaxed speaking! :-)

That jar hack is a lifesaver! I won’t have to ask my neighbor for help anymore.
That's great!
Wow, i don't have that much strength, but i have my own hack for that
Turn it upside down and smack the bottom.
It's great that your mom's ingenuity brings laughter and joy to your visits. Keep enjoying those creative moments with her! 🤗❤️
🎉 great tips that I will have fun trying out. My favourite is the fried egg. Thanks ❤
Love the last one with the fried egg using water. Great way to save calories and clean up. Thank you!
Love your tips and tricks! Thank you!
What great tips! Thank you for sharing 😊🙌🙌
My fifth grade teacher taught the class how to split apples using bare hands. But, that was relatively easy compared to part two-putting the apples back together.
🤣🤣🤣🤣👍❤️
I did it !!!! Awesome !!!! Microgreens in 3-4 days !!! Thank you sooo much 🤩🤩🤩
I love all these smart ideas. Very helpful:’

Excellent tips, hacks, insights and - as always - superbly presented! Thanks. Keep up the great work.

BUT... that last one isn't a fried egg it's a poached egg???
Technically it's poached but I'd eat it!
🤮
So witty ! Well done you although I am not surprised. Very little money helps in some cases because you become very astute and it is very refreshing in our "too much" society. So, thanks to you. From France, Normandy.
I actually knew the apple trick from the time I was in grade school and have done it myself. That was about 70 years ago! I love your shows and you have a very pleasant voice!
Wow, that's impressive!
I grew up in Holland near an apple orchard. They had these gigantic light green apples that burst with sprays of apple juice when you broke them. Never have seen those kind of apples again. @@WebspoonWorld
Yes, genius tips. Love the no spill flour on sifter, frying eggs using boiling water.
I wonder if toilet paper is good soil substitute to grow micronutrients?
I have never tried slicing roll of toilet paper.
Still, thank you.
