I downloaded the trial and played around with this for 5 minutes...then I went and bought it. That was THE shortest evaluation time I've ever needed to find out if a plugin is worth my time or not. This thing is INCREDIBLE. Well done!
I tested Equalizer for 3 days both against the competition and my own static parametric eq'ing and it totally blew me away. Equalizer came out on top by a long shot. Not only that, I can apply the same settings to recordings that have very different issues and it 'repairs' them all to a standard that I'm super happy with. Congrats and thanks to the people at Wavefactory.
Immediately I must compare it to Gullfoss. It’s hard to know for sure without a clear description, but Gullfoss uses some analysis which finds frequencies which are masking frequencies above them and reduces them or boosts the masked frequencies. This is more like: there’s a target spectral curve we’re trying to EQ our sound toward. It’s possible these end up being similar EQ targets, but I suspect gullfoss is more nuanced and leaves the sound more “as-is” and mostly tamps down frequencies that are sticking out more than they should. This on the other hand is a coarser tool - and is trying to get the spectrum to be balanced regardless of masking or relationships between local EQ bands.
I now have both, and on a quick comparaison, I think that Gullfoss is doing a better job (to my taste) for a whole mix but for single tracks, Equalizer is superb, a really nice plugin to have in our tool box! ;)
I mean everytime, everytime, you confirm that you're the most innovative vst company. And btw this presentation is really well done and shows passion that goes into creating plugins. That's all I'm asking for
This plugin is truly magic, it is like an all in one go to seasoning. I love my iZotope plug-ins but this equalizer is a game changer. The passion and hard work that was put into this is apparent once you hear it in action on your own mixes.

Not to take anything away from this plugin, it’s awesome and quite unique but it’s not the first of its kind. Gollfoss EQ has been out for a few years now and has the same function but the target EQ is more curved like a song than aiming for flat. It’s a great plugin but also costs twice as much as Equalizer. I went with Equalizer and am very happy with it. Trackspacer is also amazing, definitely check that one out too if you haven’t already

Excelente Plugin! I bought your plugin and tested it even with less than stellar tracks. It is really good, powerful, simple, precise. For a producer like myself, this is exactly what I need at the time of equalizing and balancing my tracks and move on to the next task. Bien hecho, gracias!
I think that this is a very special plugn that could end up having a very wide usefulness. The control per ban over how much of the processing is applied is fantastic and really elevates this into a precision tool. Congratulations!
I agree with the usefulness and specialness, but to me precision tool means I know exactly what the plugin does and have very precise control over it. With this one I'm not sure what it actually does and I can't use it linearly and expect it to behave the same every instance. Don't take me wrong, I love plugins that have only few knobs and sound this great, just that I can't call it a precision tool per se.
No, Soothe suppresses the resonances and it's like a thousand band or something ridiculous like that. Gulfoss confines the music to a curve that is proven to translate well on good speakers. This is 32 band upward and downward expander that tries to minimize the difference across the frequency spectrum. Not confining to any specific curve and not removing any resonances.
@@tendingtropic7778 I can't speak for you. It would depend on what you want the track to sound like. If removing resonances or confining it to a curve is your intention, this wouldn't do it. If the effect of flattening the curve is what you are looking for or plan to do something else after flattening the curve, this is a good option I'd say. It makes the process easier with having to tweak just one knob rather than having to set up a Multiband eq or compressor and tweak or the settings manually.. I'd use it on an overly bright or dull or honky sound to essentially inverse eq it and then eq it the way I want after.
Downloaded the demo and A/B'd it with Sonible Smart EQ - granted they are sort of different tools, but this is what I wanted from Smart EQ when I bought it - kind of unbelievable how this works in real-time. Will continue testing with the demo, but so far this is a win.

@@oatmellofi Hmm, no not really, at least not in my opinion. This is more of a fixing/enchancing tool I think, there's not a lot of reasons to even out all your tracks when the instruments are already naturally separated by their different registers and timbre (assuming the arrangement is good) By using this on every track with no reason you are basically solving a problem that's not there to begin with, or creating more problems that you'll later have to address anyway. Wow! We love your plugins in the studio. Already I have a feature request. Equalize to "Target Curves" 1. Flat, regular like white noise 2. Pink Flat, relative to pink noise (The "Tilt" knob can have a pink dot when it's 3 db per octave) 3. Psychoacoustic Flat, relative to a target curve which is the average measurements of human hearing. I believe Loudness Units LUFS is based on this curve... Thanks
You should be able to achieve all of these yourself by applying an EQ curve before this plug-in and then the inverse curve after the plug-in, since it’s by default trying to make all frequencies equal (which is the definition of white noise)
Looks very quick and powerful to use. For those of us trying to balance expenses from paycheck to paycheck, when is the intro offer expiring? I've been browsing all over and I'm having a hard time a finding date mentioned anywhere.

I'm very glad you've included the sidechain feature on Equalizer. so is it trying to make all audio match the 'white' or 'pink noise' spectrum? (ur friend said he is literally "equalizing" to make everything even) im very curious what u mean by "it's not trying to match a pre-defined curve".
This plugin, on its conception, wasn't designed to match any noise spectrum or predefined EQ curve. Or at least, that wasn't my intention. Meaning that the algorithm behind it is not saying "here's the curve I want, here's the curve I have, let's calculate the difference and apply it". The algorithm that drives Equalizer doesn't rely on anything external. It only uses the incoming signal itself to figure out what is needed and what needs to be cut. Having said that, I did find out that the corrections the plugin performs do resemble the pink noise spectrum. And I think that was a happy accident. Pink noise can be found in nature and it's a very pleasant sound. I think that's one of the key features of Equalizer as it makes your tracks sound more organic, balanced and natural.
@@wavesfactory Thanks for your work. Would be helpful if you could just say *how* it determines by how much to correct each freq band. What is the algorithm? I mean it's not literally trying to make all bands the same volume, is it?

You are a great developer, I dont expect you to sell me a recoded Gullfoss in a other clothing. But I am really curious to compare them (:
I see your point however TEOTE, even if it has the same price, is completely incomprehensible for noobs such as myself, while Gullfoss has a very high price. This seems like the best of both worlds and very affordable even for bedroom producers.
Interesting! What about say, a bass guitar - I don't want this equalised across the whole frequency spectrum. I know that I can turn down the high frequency bands BUT does it analyse the whole frequency range or only the frequency range of the sound that is being affected?
and non-threshold dependant too, unless I missed something. It basically evens out the whole spectrum so this is something that's not possible with a multiband compressor or dynamic eq
Tremendo! Lo estoy probando y es brutal: sonido limpio, sin latencia y bajo consumo. Sólo me faltaría side-chain, dime que en un futuro estará y vendo el soothe ahora mismo 😅 Enhorabuena por el plugin, se queda!
I compared it a bit with the DSEQ from tbproaudio. When it comes to the amount of cut ( removing unwanted frequencies ) you can do to an audio, DSEQ can perform a bit better, but it doesen't have the boost freq option. Also the graphic part of the eq its more detailed in DSEQ.
This looks great. Definitely see the benefits for mastering, though less sure about elsewhere. You typically think of different tracks as occupying different parts of the frequency spectrum, rather than everything being flat. It would be good to see how this could work when mixing lots of things.
This is my primary question as well! How does it improve a mix to level the different tracks in this way. It reduces their character and makes them all occupy similar parts of the spectrum.
This prepares your tracks in order to be mixed later. It will take away a lot of repetitive tasks but it will not mix your song automatically. It will get your tracks ready to be mixed. And the mixing process will be much simpler later and you will get much better results in much less time.
All frequency equal make things sound to bright. It should be a curve close to human perceived loudness. Gullfoss for example. Of course the tilt knob makes thing less bright when you want, but its also less effective when reducing resonances on the lower range. So adding a pink noise or darker profiles would be a really nice. I hope so ;)
Amazing! My first thought here is that I think it would be nice to have high and low pass filters on the sidechain input, much like Trackspacer does, so you could tell it to not look at the very low or high end on things that don’t need it. Everything else looks perfect, well done!
There should be away to choose the range of the effect. U see, maybe I'm perfectly happy with my low end and only want to effect the highs. Ohhh... I was just writing this comment before the end... Forget it!! Watch the video to the end guys!! Plugin seems great! 👍🏽
Gran plugin, en lo personal aunque puede ser usado por usuarios de todos tipos, creo que será uno de los preferidos para los usuarios más avanzados debido al enorme potencial que tiene, esta empresa tiene un futuro enorme.
Question you said you can use this plugin on everything. How is it on CPU? I definitely I’m interested in this plugin . The video was very detailed!!! Another where is the plugin most useful in your processing chain before or after your other plugins for example (your vocal chain) desser compressor etc.. will this plugin go before your other plugin processing, or after??? 🤔🤔🤔
This looks and sounds really interesting. A little bit like Ceiling of Sounds. But much faster. Love that there is a tilt filter on board. I will check it out tomorrow. I also love spectre😊😊
Like Pink Noise as a side chain into a more technical Trackspacer, but also boosting? or like a passive idea ? Hmmm... Will give it a go... As I use trackspacer that way.. sometimes BTW.. Reminds me of the newfangled suite approach.... And thats a good thing...
Its interesting, but mixing isn't about making individual sounds great and full sounding, its the exact opposite in many ways; to shape and carve out frequencies in each sound to make them paint a full picture as it were, together. Having a mix of full sounds creates a busy, muddy song with instruments masking each other. I can see some nice use cases though, like a lead vocal perhaps. But generally speaking, a sound must be eq:d with context to the rest of the song, not to itself.
If you think that the way to use this plugin is to insert it on each track and on the master and you're done, then that's not correct. As you say, mixing is about creating space for each element. This plugin will remove a lot of the repetitive tasks that are done in order to prepare the tracks for mixing. It will remove unwanted resonances, it will bring back buried frequencies, it will tame harshness, etc, it will prepare your track in order to later be mixed.
a simpler version than Gulfoss.. Gulfoss also costs 3 x more. Nothing compared to Gulfoss , especially the Master version. Way more options in Gulfuss, not just balancing - it can uncover and tame, and has a complex algorithm.
@@levondarratt787 Your formulation doesn't let me clearly understand if you prefer Gulfoss or not. But as an owner of Gullfoss I could hardly replace it with anything else, especially the Master device.

But now it really needs the trained ear to not be fooled by shiny new GUI's that might sell you the same thing you already own and trick you with visual bias..
I will certainly check this plugin out andI I liked the style of the presentation.
Appears to me a bit like gullfoss. Will try and compare it. What i would love to see is a Lowcut
Interesting! What about say, a bass guitar - I don't want this equalised across the whole frequency spectrum. I know that I can turn down the high frequency bands BUT does it analyse the whole frequency range or only the frequency range of the sound that is being affected?
It analyses the whole frequency range all the time. It's only the second stage that's changed.
Instant buy! Excellent job guys! :)
So a multiband compressor with tiltshift based on 32 bands with mid side controls? Zero latency meaning post ringing too?
and non-threshold dependant too, unless I missed something. It basically evens out the whole spectrum so this is something that's not possible with a multiband compressor or dynamic eq
@AlonsoUrmeneta interesting, to be honest, I didn't watch the whole video but will now :)
Ecualizar.- del latín «aequus-izare»: igualar plano...
¿Hace que todo suene mejor o solo me lo parece??
Enhorabuena!!
It seems to be a cool & useful plugin but what make special this plugin vs Gulfoss?
Wow this sounds amazing. Can’t wait to try it out
Does this also help remove resonant frequencies for high gain electric guitar?
Sure
Tremendo! Lo estoy probando y es brutal: sonido limpio, sin latencia y bajo consumo. Sólo me faltaría side-chain, dime que en un futuro estará y vendo el soothe ahora mismo 😅 Enhorabuena por el plugin, se queda!
Looks great about to demo it right now!!
Sounds great to me but is it causing problems when you have to deliver stems for mastering or even mixing? Thanks for any answere
That's why it would be handy to have an external sidechain functionality.
Amazing products.. More Plugins like these please ❤
I try and I feel that this is even better than Soothe..... it gives you more control, to be honest!!
This is brilliant, bravo!
does this have auto gain compensation?
Yes
@@wavesfactory thanks, i asked the question before i reached 6:00 in video, lol. love your software, i have your Ukulele
Looks great, a great help, is it generally cpu light/ heavy?
Very nice plugin!
Looking forward to getting this
On my way to purchase it right now!
Watch the video till the end :)
it does have that feature
This looks amazing, I plan to buy it soon
There should be away to choose the range of the effect.
U see, maybe I'm perfectly happy with my low end and only want to effect the highs.
Ohhh... I was just writing this comment before the end...
Forget it!! Watch the video to the end guys!!
Plugin seems great! 👍🏽
What a quality plug in!
Very interesting ❤ love your work. Will def try the demo
Will we get a Dan Worrall video? 😄
Bravo for your work mate.
Well thought, good job, Will try it.
Muy buen trabajo como siempre!! Opino tambien que con Sidechain seria ya brutal pero estoy deseando probarlo
This looks and sounds really interesting. A little bit like Ceiling of Sounds. But much faster. Love that there is a tilt filter on board. I will check it out tomorrow.
I also love spectre😊😊
A little yes but nothing like it 😁
So question should this eq go before or after the plugins in your vocal chain for the best results
Looks like your on a winner with this.
Is there oversampling?
Also does each instance communicate with each other on each track?
Big question is: How is this compared to gullfoss?
Awesome. thx 4 that. keep up the great work.
Looks great! Would this be good for vocals so that you didnt have to muaully ride the volume control so that its all the same level?
Like Pink Noise as a side chain into a more technical Trackspacer, but also boosting? or like a passive idea ? Hmmm... Will give it a go... As I use trackspacer that way.. sometimes
BTW.. Reminds me of the newfangled suite approach.... And thats a good thing...
Is this linear phase?
No, but phase is not an issue. Check the mix parameter, you won't hear any coloration or unwanted cancellations.
Without lookahead, how does the plug-in deal with transients ?
Is the eq a true flat tilt or two shelves combined?
How does this compare to something like gullfoss?
Very nice presentation
How long will it be on sale?
It's Gullfoss with tweaks. Or am I totally wrong?
a simpler version than Gulfoss..
@@tobytodelafontena Gullfoss is absolutely goated but it also eats a lot of CPU, might be a bit overkill for some tracks so I imagine that's where you'd want to use this plugin instead. And like levondarratt said Gullfoss also costs a lot more!
Can we get a undo and redo function too Please. Thanks.
Hello. Congratulations on the new plugin. It looks very interesting. A question. Could Equalizer be considered as a serious alternative to oeksound Soothe 2? All the best!
Hi. Can this plugin be used for mastering? Does it have oversampling?
great plugin and great job as always :)
thanks
already purchased and managed to play with Equalizer a lot.
seems to have found a bug. every time I restart the projects, the value of "Amount" is reset to the default 50%.
or am I doing something wrong?)
