Solid escapes from side control are always a good thing. Having sneaky escapes and submissions from bottom side control to compliment your standard options is even better.
•
In this video, Rob Magao from Bushido Jiu-Jitsu in Manchester, Connecticut (Manchester BJJ on UA-cam) shows a unique trap and escape and I show a couple of options I have been using since watching my friends Jeremy Pender @ponyboymma on IG and Tyler VanKill @squidviciousbjj on IG. Check all these guys out for some seriously innovative techniques.

I love side control escapes!
Or as I call them: "Stuff to try while waiting to get submitted!"
Facts
@Daryl Reeder - I stole it from astronaut John Young. In the event that something went wrong during a launch, he had "Stuff to do while waiting to die."

I cannot believe it that I can watch this great video for free
Who said it was free now that will be 59.99 plus tax
@@elbertcates8526 omg
@@elbertcates8526 dang it my parents are going to ground me hard after this 💵😭
Man that second one is crazy. One of my training partners is the reverse triangle king I’m sure he’s gonna love this when I show it to him.
Nice. Been getting owned in side control. Might have to practice this.
I PULLED OFF THE TRIANGLE FROM BOTTOM SIDE CONTROL!! Thank you!!
That's awesome!
The explantion to the second sneaky sub was gold for me. I know it as the Mr. Schembri, a Nino Schembri move. Forcing the post on the sweep attempt is a great setup for the americana. I also never considered the reverse triangle. Thanks for showing!
that last move is super awesome and a favorite of mine. it is the nino guard.
Nice. I block the cross face all the time now and they definitely go into kesa and this will come in handy
🤯🤯🤯
Trying these immediately. They’ll go really well with the two I just learned.
Real solid technical details, good work.
Love those moves going to bring those side control setup when we roll in class
Love this escape! Thanks gonna have a go at it asap. And the triangle details are cool! I've see it but not exactly this way! Again thx
Been binge watching these videos helping me out massively
That’s awesome to hear and greatly appreciated!!!
Sick content, I love this stuff!
Hello from the other side of the world Sensei Eli. As I've been a fan of you and your excellent instructional videos, and as one who has commented from time to time, I feel it a genuine pleasure to let you know that I received my Blue Belt this evening. All your work plays a part in many folks bjj journey, so I do owe you this courtesy Sir. Oss!
I really appreciate the kind sentiment! And huge congratulations on getting your blue belt!
thanks for uploading this
Ahhhhh, I love these moves and those details!! ❤️💯❤️
Excellent! Thank you Professors. Oss
Amazing
Pretty cool stuff.
"Americana with my legs from bottom side control"
That's a sentence only heard on this channel.
It’s normally done from the top kesa gatame position
That’s why I’ve been referring to this bottom version as “Scarf Guard”
@@KnightJiuJitsu My go to guard. He's got side control but thats exactly where I want him 👌
Check out Jeremiah Vance's “fly trap". It's a triangle choke from bottom side control😱
Dang, I am one confused white belt watching these ones.
Lmfao
Love it.
Too good
Love it
Thank you 🖒👍👏🖒
Wow! I like that! I am stealing that and naming it a Skirt Trap! Always good to pair things with a concept too! I have a question I have been thinking about a lot lately. What height should be your Jiu-Jitsu? Like the Set before moving say into an X-pass, or down into side control, knee on Belly! What is the most optimal like in wrestling with the double leg for example. Everyone seem to lean in a lot! Ever thought about this question?
never seen someone tap by snap. cool
I love it ..osss
1:00 side control/kesa leg trap reversal
3:41 bottom kesa leg Americana to reverse triangle backup
All of this is 👌 love inverted triangle from under side control, cuz of my long ass legs.
Check out Nino Schembri episode on Rolled Up. He shows a series from that position. Good stuff
Awesome. I haven’t seen it but I’ll check it out asap
🤙
On the first escape cant the guy post his hand that's around the neck?
“…I’ve got this Americana w/ my legs from the bottom of side control.”
What??? When I’m on the bottom of side control I just get dominated! This prof uses his legs to submit you!
…I have a LOOONG way to go🇧🇷🇯🇵
right side symbol is including japaness war criminal flag.
I really struggle at this position. I can't finish any of the moves I find 😭😭
Oss
And this is the kind of thing that happens when you THINK you passed a black belts guard. Only to find out they just want to try some cool escape. Oh well.... I'll get there one day.😉
3:55 there is modified Buggy Choke there like this:

Great video just make the intro short and get straight to it 🤝

As a Korean, it's a channel that is useful, but Uk-Ilgi feels very bad because it symbolizes the Japanese military, a symbol of invasion and exploitation, as a symbol of Japanese militarism. Please remove it. It's not smooth because I've turned Google translation.
1st movement wouldn't work against our school. We would stuff that in a second. Wrestlers in Iowa and Nebraska, come get some.
