Man, this is the kind of band that can touch your soul with their music - you don't need to be jumping and shaking your head to feel anything. I know that 'cuz, I've watched them live; I didn't move during the entire show, I just wanted to listen and watch to them all night - believe me, it's an unforgettable experience. You won't easily find a band like them these days. Their music is full of beauty and spirit.
Discovered them live in a festival. Remembered every moment of their amazing show at 4pm. The headliner? Not that much... I would love so much to see them live again...
switching from a BRMC rock song, to one of the darkest and strong rock'n'roll, to that blues... I became crazy when I heard Open Invitation ! Only BRMC can do this !
This is a band you CAN totally move to. I saw them in Memphis during their Howl tour and even though those songs are bluesy foot stomping songs, they amped it up to a super fast paced crunchy rock sound. Still probably my favorite show I've ever seen.
seen my boys 10 times and not enough. travelled the country seeing them. They are the best rock"n"roll band in the world. keeping it real rock"n"roll and blues. cant wait for them to come back to the UK. i might have to go France to see them in 2014. love brmc
Just another marvel from the best, the deepest rock band of the last twenty something years. They talk to to my soul and to yours better than any other electric band. The only one i know boxing in the same category ? Rory Gallagher. Another pergect sound... cheers. Vincent
@@stonermane621 shame indeed. When I listened to failsafe for the first time in 2016 it became one of my favorite songs and I think it's underappreciated.
@ozzysab I think it's generally quite hard to get a live video to sound as big and 'live' as it does in concert anyway, I thought it of the last live dvd, I think this one is mixed a whole lot better, but I do see your point
Hey! I can confirm you it's just super quick up and down picking on the middle 3 strings. But I can still tell you the pedals used on that song. All the weird ambiant sound is done with an Akai E2 Headrush. As for distortion, it's hard to tell exactly which one is used there, but Peter has been known to use an Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer in the past and more recently a Vintage FX Overdrive. I think he also always keeps a Boss Digital Delay running at all times, it's hidden somewhere in his rack.
No tremolo on that song. He does use a Seymour Duncan SFX-07 tremolo on other songs like the intro of Red Eyes And Tears. It's a shape shifter tap tempo tremolo, very cool pedal. What he does here isn't hard at all, he does it also on the chorus of Awake. Cheers!
Can somebody tell me what version this is please? I can't ever seem to find this version from around 8:00-13:26. It would help me a lot because I really love that part.
Sorry mate, you are wrong on this one. I've been standing in front of Peter everytime I have seen these guys live and I can guarantee you it's no tremolo it's just super fast picking (closer to strumming in fact). He does it also for the chorus of Awake. Tom Morello uses the same technique during the "F*ck you, I won't do what you tell me" crescendo in Killing In The Name. He does use a Seymour Duncan SFX-07 tremolo pedal on other songs though, like Red Eyes And Tears or In Like The Rose.
Is it just me or is the dvd not mixed well, what I mean is BRMC sound massive , and they dont sound that big on this. Example look at the live red eye and tears from a few years ago on youtube, I wish the mix was more like that. Non the less I fucking love BRMC
No fuzz here, just overdrive+Akai E2 Headrush analog delay+lots of EQ and reverb from his rack hidden on the right of the stage. His pedal board is just the tip of the iceberg, most of his tone comes from those racks that he keeps secret. As for the overdrive, he was using a VFX Overdrive circa Baby 81, but for Beat The Devil's Tattoo tour I don't know. I've seen him use a VFX Fuzz Riot on other songs, but not on Shadow's Keeper.
Jamming t out to this in 2023 !!👍🎶😎
still in 2024!
Anyone listening to this in 2019?
Yes and 2020
Along with Chaos A.D. and watching Nine Songs.
2020 & beyond.
2020 too
2021

just the coolest band ....never sold out never conformed to sell records
Spot on
3:51 One among many, many over reasons why this is genuinely a great rock band
switching from a BRMC rock song, to one of the darkest and strong rock'n'roll, to that blues... I became crazy when I heard Open Invitation !
Only BRMC can do this !
"Pull me up on either side, don't leave me standing alone in the light". The way he sang this just loved it. This club gives me something to live for.
This is just sick, insane, orgasmic, cathartic and sacred...all what rock and roll it's supposed to be.
This is a band you CAN totally move to. I saw them in Memphis during their Howl tour and even though those songs are bluesy foot stomping songs, they amped it up to a super fast paced crunchy rock sound. Still probably my favorite show I've ever seen.
dat bass
This song has everything! This is BRMC at their best!
They are the only rock band left. A life’s regret is missing this tour. Saw them at the start joking about the name … never joked about it again.
What an amazing tone they've developed, it fucking blows my mind.
seen my boys 10 times and not enough. travelled the country seeing them. They are the best rock"n"roll band in the world. keeping it real rock"n"roll and blues. cant wait for them to come back to the UK. i might have to go France to see them in 2014. love brmc
That is the truest thing I've read!! greatest Band without doubt!!

And tell me anything else sounds so heart tearing every time !!!
Saw them live last year and they blew my mind, especially Robert's bass.. huge sound
Highly educated in lyricism, epic, tune
This song is mind blowing live...they finished with this when I saw them in Jul-10 and the whole experience was surreal!

Pull me up on either side
Don't leave me standing alone in the light
This performance is f-ing epic!!!
Makes me have faith in American bands. If another person says Jack White should play this I'm gonna puke.
Such an awesome tune
best song ever....
Menos mal que existe Peter Hayes ♣
My tellers of TRUTH !
just wow!
wow...just wow!
LEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To think my favorite songs came out of Take Them On, On Your Own....
Beat the devils tattoo was like a mix of all the past albums equally imo
Everything they've done after Howl has been flawless.
Ehh rival and hate the taste felt like fillers on specter but besides that i agree
The bonuses from Take Them On are so fucking good. It’s a shame Failsafe didn’t make it into the cut

BRMC is the best club-level band in the world. Easily.
Cheers!
Damn i think I'm in love with Leah Shapiro. Stupid brain!
This band sounds better with each listen. Perfect cure for 2020 doldrums. EDIT: My comment was duplicated & I only input it once. What gives?
I think she's really cute too.
Anyone have any idea how to get that guitar tone at 4.20, what pedals do you need?
Tremolo and a boost with distortion??
i think i need a cigarette after this
fuk!...amazing!

@Zaiyden rubbish - I was there !!!
Wouldn't refuse some whisky as well
the last part of the song reminds me a lot of oasis, in the album Standing of the shoulder of giants, very cool, excellent band BRMC
Please don’t insult BRMC like that.
Here's some proof: search "Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Maquinaria Fest HD Santiago de Chile 12 /11/2011" in UA-cam and look at 47:37. Enjoy! ;)

The beat sounds similar to one that Placebo might use

@Zaiyden how would you 'move' to this then?? Jump all over the place lol
Very Oasis towards the end, I love it
Oasis can’t hold a candle to this band .
No it isn’t. Be quiet.
@ coming at me 9 years later
Voice - beatles
Music - oasis
No and no.
