    When I was a kid we had a hammer mill that worked similar to that except it was driven by a wide, long belt from a wide pulley off the side of an H Farmall.

      Yeah Bruh! How many people can operate a $500,000 combine on head rows while simultaneously operating a drone and narrating a UA-cam video? I'm still trying to figure out how to change the clock in my Suburban, after daylight savings time. I keep showing up an hour early. LOL.

    Cab holds another 4 or 5 bushel. Just having a little fun, our cab seems to get corn on it by at least by the second or third day too. Nice to see we all feed the wildlife from time to time. Good luck with your harvest. We are rained out here in central Ohio. Tired of switching back and forth from corn to soybeans.

    Maybe the Zach in Minnesota should get a tarp, would solve the cab corn problem. Here you are cleaning corn and running a drone at the same time so You don’t have to get out of the cab to check for loss, impressive. That’s a seasoned operators move right there.

    Combines smaller and older but it works probably paid for you know settings and its quirks could spend 1.5 million on x9 with 16 row head get done a little faster but than need big grain cart bigger tractor on grain cart and more trucks hauling. Just my 2 cents. New and shiny doesn't mean less down time guy rents my fields is farming over 600 acres is using an early 90s massey combine with over 6000 hours last heard but replaces whats bad every winter and has less than what payments on newer 1 would be and isn't broke down anymore than a lot of these youtubers with newer low hour combines

    Curious to why you are hammering corn and dropping into the bunk? Never seen or heard of it done here in Indiana. We only have 2 dairies left in our county. I've ground alot of feed in a Gehl pto pull behind grinder for hogs and cattle. Changing screens for baby pigs to sows to fat hogs. Even pulled the screens out and free hammered ear corn for fat cattle.

    Is the kernel of corn run through the hammer mill to make a feed product? If so, why not harvest the corn as silage and run it through the kernel processor on the chopper? Very interested in the different processes and the reason for each of them. I enjoy the videos very much!

    • @Kilroywashere291
      @Kilroywashere291 3 роки тому +1

      The reason why they are grinding the corn kernel instead of just shopping the whole plant is because it makes a balanced diet for the cow. For example feeding a cow just corn silage is like to us eating only salad and feeding a cow only ground corn is like to us eating only meat and potatoes, it not a balanced diet.

That One Lonely Farmer guy appears to be meddling in some sort of corn and then processing his corn fodder and selling it to I guess the same mushroom barns he sells his grass to.
