I know this an older post but I have fished this area for over 40 years and I still fish it to this day. This is a fantastic fishery and all the advice Dom is providing is spot on. I fish from a couple miles north of the bridge to a couple miles south in the river. This is a great multi species area. People are friendly and willing to help. Give this area a try. You won't be disappointed.
Good job at describing the river and what is required for the proper equipment.... I see a lot of guys fish that River since I live very close that are under equipped.
I’m heading down to PH on Friday so I’m going to drowned some bait. I need to take 3 dogs to the groomer it was a toss up between fishing and hookers LOL well fishing is winning, I’m going to fish by the bridge off the shore what do you suggest? I’m sure I’m going to need a heavy sinker, just put a spinner on a leader? I really never fish from shore. I normally fish out of Harbor Beach the deep water or in Sebewaing in the Bay.
Any suggestions on a port or ramp location as a good point of entry into good areas of st Clair river Michigan American side? I’m new to fishing outside my home town in western New York where there’s a diversity of species.
went fishing across from Krogers at Algonac two weeks ago what a great experience, used what you suggested 1 oz jigs But also tried some bottom bouncing and caught out limit each day
Dom what do you suggest for fishing off the sea wall. I use to do it years ago with a heavy river pole, 40 lb mono but I dont recall what I used...crawler harness, bombers, jig heads? I appreciate your advise
Masi Palazzolo Marysville or Port Huron under the bridge are always a safe bet. Cast a jig (5/8 or 3/4) with some sort of grub or minnow bait. Allow it to flow with the current, and with a tight line, pop it a little bit. You can unload the power on some walleye down there.
Whats he talking about major snags all around bluewater bridge lost 20.00 in4.5 hrs lived here 30years local pawnshop buys jigs from local divers said its like picking blueberrys under the bridge havent found a way not to support the local bait shops be forwarned!!!!!!!!!!!!

Going next week to fish the area for a week! Super pumped.
I hope you hammer some fish!!
Hey Dom! Great video! We will be fishing port huron this week ...where is a fishing boat friendly hotel near a boat launch???
What do you think about using fire gel on the jig head? I have had good luck using the anise scent. Great information! Thank you for the video.
If I had some with me, I would glob it on there good! Extra scents and oil could go a long ways on some days.
Thanks its my new spot Port Huron
Give me info please 👍
what pound test of spider wire stealth do you use ???
For vertical jigging- 20lb works for me well. It’s very thin and strong!
? Any tips on ancoring? We don't even anchor anymore because of the drag.
Where on St Clair River the first park of September would you go and type of fishing
Thank you sir, I’m new to river fishing, do we need to use trolling motor or just drift

I bought a do it mold to make my own walleye jigs, what size hook should I use with them? 2/0 or 3/0
If fishing American side for the first time what depth and area should i start ?
I'm hoping to get out there this year, but I own a fishing kayak. Is the current and chop super bad? Thanks.
Depends on the day, some days you’ll be okay and others a 16ft bass boat is too small.
Just curious, whats the average size of these walleye being caught today?
There’s so many walleye in the river it’s crazy
There are!
It's actually insane when you think about it. There are always walleye out there!
Fishing With Dom! They’re so dumb, we were going out in middle of August at noon in marine city and get 6 on first pass haha
Great info! Thanks!
Whats a good walley spot i can take my boys fishing at? I live in sterling hights.
What jig do to recommend for shore fishing at the 9 mile boat launch
9 mile pier isnt that deep, I would throw husky jerkbaits at night at the 9 mile pier!

Keith Moore which sea wall? Port Huron? Algonac?
Port Huron, between the bridge and police dept US side
Keith Moore ok, Keith. I'm out and about right now. When I get home and I have a minute, I'll message you on here. Sound good?
great thank you
Bombers, rapalas, spoons, and pencil plugs for fall fishing. And don’t forget your 2lb weight! Lol
Also had to use at least 3 oz for bottom bouncer to keep it on bottom!
What do you know about whipping? I learned last year what it is about and holy walleye!
Have you cat fished on the river? We have been catching our limit of walleye in the morning in may and wanted to do some cat fishing in the afternoon
Do u know anywhere I can go shore fishing for some walleye?

So fishing by the Chrysler shipping office good? And around what time u think is the best to go

The river starts at Port Huron and ends at Trenton, not Algonac, which is just a few miles from Port Huron.
