I have MANY denominations of Christians in my family: Anglican, Catholic, Pentecostal, and me, an Orthodox Jew! We don't make a point of discussing religion, but if the subject comes up, I most certainly tell them God's Truth!
They do not know how to read the book. I have both the JPS Tanach and the Art Scroll Tanach. The art scroll does exactly what the christian bible does, translating words to what they want it to say. If i have to use the criteria given by the rabbi i hate to say the art scroll fails.
You might like the Koren Jerusalem Bible, it is the whole thing plus magillahs, psalms, etc. They used this in my Daughter's seminary in Jerusalem. I borrowed it from her. 😍 Art Scroll and Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan Living Torah are excellent too.

Tyndale based word for word literal translations are trusted by English churches who read the scriptures but there are more modern translations that consult the same Hebrew and Greek manuscripts that the English scholars used.
I think they prefer it because they were raised reading it. Just like your mom's macaroni & cheese recipe is the best (even if it is awful) because you ate it during your childhood. OTOH, King James does have some beautiful poetry that is lost in modern English translations that are more accurate. Compare the 23rd Psalm King James: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. The child of Isaiah 7:14 was born in Isaiah's time, about seven centuries before jesus allegedly came along, was named Emmanuel by his mother, ate curds and honey before learning to choose good over bad, all as a sign to king Ahaz that he need not be worried about 2 neighboring kingdoms by whom he felt threatened. None of that applied to Jesus, and there is no reason to see messianic prophecy there unless misled into doing so.

King James was the king of England at the time of the translation. The translators were the Hebrew and Greek scholars who studied the Old and New Testament manuscripts and verified their verbal accuracy. The King authorized the translators to do this.

Man thinks of one being of flesh and blood when it is an inner-relationship of Father/son.

Ok," Hebrew", is the original text. When interpreting texts like Psalms, Isaiah and Proverbs, it's generally understood that they could contain layers. Also Why go to Greek translations? Torah often use symbolism and metaphor. And can convey deeper truths and teachings. It would be 100% impossible to translate Greek into Hebrew and get 100% translation. Unfortunately, rabbi, I didn't do well in my life in school, and though you say Hebrew is easy, I learned what I could to read my haftorah portion of David and Bethsheba. I took Spanish, and I didn't take it seriously enough in junior high school, the easiest of French or Italian. I failed all 3 years and took it seriously in high school and went to Spanish 2, and stopped afterward. It was very stupid on my part because years later, I could have earned more money at jobs that needed Spanish speakers. Also, I tried to learn violin in junior high school, and I couldn't learn to read music. Even worse, I bought an electric guitar thinking maybe I could play it instead. Nope, I couldn't read the musical notes of placing my fingers here and there. I'm not saying I was going to be the next Jimi Hendrix, but I was hoping to play fairly well. My late uncle became a born-again Christian and influenced me so I was mind warped and he took me to his church and even went to see reverend Jimmy Swaggert back in the mid 1980s. I came across rabbi Tovia Singer around 6 years ago this time roughly. I dropped Jesus out of my prayers and I had to pull away and I still unfortunately was eating bacon double cheeseburgers and pork fried rice and stuff and peperoni pizzas. The KJV is a superb piece of English literature. The men who created it were learned in the old languages and rendered a lot of the original texts quite faithfully. But at the time of writing England was a Christian nation , so they perpetuated the New Testament errors and mistranslations by actually embedding them in their rendering of the relevant Old Testament verses.The KJV is a Christian bible, so it supports the Christian makeover.
English writers do not use acronyms that are based on words like Torah, Nevi'im and so on. The KJV is a literal word-for-word translation that has been revised to use more modern English words since 1611. You are just saying you do not like reading older English writings but there are some people who can read it.

You might like the Koren Jerusalem Bible, it is the whole thing plus magillahs, psalms, etc. They used this in my Daughter's seminary in Jerusalem. I borrowed it from her. 😍 Art Scroll and Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan Living Torah are excellent too.

Tyndale based word for word literal translations are trusted by English churches who read the scriptures but there are more modern translations that consult the same Hebrew and Greek manuscripts that the English scholars used.
I think they prefer it because they were raised reading it. Just like your mom's macaroni & cheese recipe is the best (even if it is awful) because you ate it during your childhood.
OTOH, King James does have some beautiful poetry that is lost in modern English translations that are more accurate.

The child of Isaiah 7:14 was born in Isaiah's time, about seven centuries before jesus allegedly came along, was named Emmanuel by his mother, ate curds and honey before learning to choose good over bad, all as a sign to king Ahaz that he need not be worried about 2 neighboring kingdoms by whom he felt threatened. None of that applied to Jesus, and there is no reason to see messianic prophecy there unless misled into doing so.

Torah often use symbolism and metaphor. And can convey deeper truths and teachings. It would be 100% impossible to translate Greek into Hebrew and get 100% translation. TALPIOT TOMB INTRO & QUESTIONS

In 1980, a construction bulldozer working just south of the Old City, revealed the opening of a first century tomb.
This tomb, located in East Talpiot, contained ten ossuairies or bone boxes.
Six of the boxes had inscriptions on them.
The boxes were transferred to a warehouse of the IAA (Israël Antiquities Authority). Per the practice, the skeletal remains inside the boxes, were reburied.
Years later, different analysts examined two aspects of the ossuairies:
___ on the inside of nine of the ossuairies, the dust deposits were analyzed; a tenth ossuairy believed to have come from the same tomb was also later examined;
___ on the outside of the six with inscriptions, a linguistic study was carried out, as well as statistical.
The goals of the statistical analysis were:
__determine the number of times it was possible for those six names to be present more than once in a single tomb;
__the pool for comparison (I think) was the totality of inscribed ossuairies which the IAA has collected over the years, which date to the first century.
The conclusions of this research project were presented in a 2007 film entitled “The Lost Tomb of Jesus”.

Unfortunately, rabbi, I didn't do well in my life in school, and though you say Hebrew is easy, I learned what I could to read my haftorah portion of David and Bethsheba. I took Spanish, and I didn't take it seriously enough in junior high school, the easiest of French or Italian. I failed all 3 years and took it seriously in high school and went to Spanish 2, and stopped afterward. It was very stupid on my part because years later, I could have earned more money at jobs that needed Spanish speakers. Also, I tried to learn violin in junior high school, and I couldn't learn to read music. Even worse, I bought an electric guitar thinking maybe I could play it instead. Nope, I couldn't read the musical notes of placing my fingers here and there. I'm not saying I was going to be the next Jimi Hendrix, but I was hoping to play fairly well.

My late uncle became a born-again Christian and influenced me so I was mind warped and he took me to his church and even went to see reverend Jimmy Swaggert back in the mid 1980s. I came across rabbi Tovia Singer around 6 years ago this time roughly. I dropped Jesus out of my prayers and I had to pull away and I still unfortunately was eating bacon double cheeseburgers and pork fried rice and stuff and peperoni pizzas. I think for 2 years now I changed my eating and don't do it anymore. I've repented and I hope God has forgiven me.

The KJV is a superb piece of English literature. The men who created it were learned in the old languages and rendered a lot of the original texts quite faithfully. But at the time of writing England was a Christian nation , so they perpetuated the New Testament errors and mistranslations by actually embedding them in their rendering of the relevant Old Testament verses.The KJV is a Christian bible, so it supports the Christian makeover.

English writers do not use acronyms that are based on words like Torah, Nevi'im and so on. The KJV is a literal word-for-word translation that has been revised to use more modern English words since 1611. You are just saying you do not like reading older English writings but there are some people who can read it.

BRANCH OF JESSE OUT OF HIS ROOT
Many who study the New Testament do not undersrand Isaiah 11:1-2 or Jeremiah 30:9 because Paul himself misrepresented Isaiah 11:1-2 in Romans 15:2, in fact, Jesus himself or Revelation 22:16 tell us that Jesus claim to be the "Offspring or Son of David" and that SEALED HIS FATE as a FALSE PROPHET, he too did not know it is NOT THE SON OF DAVID that will RETURN as the King Messiah but DAVID HIMSELF as Isaiah 11:1-2 explained.
Isaiah 11:1-2 explains that a shoot/rod (David) will come out from the Stem of Jesse, this means that David who came from Jesse BUT DIED (Stock/Stem) will COME BACK or come forth, and a Branch/Twig OUT OF HIS ROOT shall bear fruit (Ressurected/Alive).

From both Paul and Jesus' own admission we can see that Jesus is not DAVID when he claim to be SON OF DAVID like many Judean at his time and Paul misinterpreted "The Root of Jesse" too, the Root of Jesse is DAVID AND HIS BROTHERS and cannot be Jesus, ESPECIALLY when Jesus himself claim to be "Son of David".
NOW, it is more than clear that Jesus/Paul contradicted themselves but Jeremiah 30:9 helps clear up Isaiah 11:1-2 above when he told us that God will RAISE UP/RESURRECT David in the End Time.
This verse or Jeremiah 30:9 helps resolve any doubts HOW David will RULE FOREVER (Ezekiel 37:24-25) after Israel REBIRTH from the Valley of Dry Bones in Ezekiel 37:1-14.
In fact, understanding the Branch of Jesse or David's RESSURRECTION in both Jeremiah 30:9 and Isaiah 11:1-2 above also help us understand WHY THE PEOPLE LOOK FOR DAVID and not his son (Jesus??) after Israel REBIRTH as foretold in Hosea 3:4-5 below.

And that is HOW David will RULE FOREVER, when God raise him up or resurrect him like He did with Israel to ENABLE David to fulfill Isaiah 11, Hosea 3, Ezekiel 37 and especially 2 Samuel 7:25 when he (David) ask/pleaded with God to CONFIRMS HIS ETERNAL PROMISE to himself, NOT TO HIS SON (Jesus??).

So, David secured a promise from God that his Throne will BE ESTABLISH FOREVER in 2 Samuel 7:16 BESIDE his house (lineage) Kingdom in fulfillment of Genesis 49:10 (Jacob's Blessings) and God told Isaiah 11, Hosea 3, Jeremiah 30 and Ezekiel 37 that DAVID will be redurrected and RULE FOREVER, not Solomon or Jesus (even if he's indeed from David).
