Kagaya didn't just blow himself up. He predicted that Muzan would come, predicted he couldn't be defeated by decapitation, he brought Tamayo and strategized to utilize demon abilities like the spikes and Yushiro's talismans to hide Gyomei and Tamayo. There is more but I won't spoil
Also, the "spikes" were a Blood Demon Art of the guy that Muzan turned into a demon in the 1st season when Tanjiro meet him for the first time (it was in s1 ep7).
That guy who was turned into Demon should giveaway a part of his body for Genya to eat so that he can use his BDA 😭

For manga readers this episode was a masterpiece... it elevated the story so much. For reactors seeing the girls singing was weird, creepy but for us it was so heartbreaking, children knowing they are about to die, trying to calm themselves down. And singing a song about a New Year... hoping for a new age without demons.
I specially like that Ubuyashiki points out that if muzan dies, the demons die. With that theme if spirit, Muzan literally cant have heirs, no one can inherit his will after he is gone. While each ubuyashiki lives a short lie, their will togheter is inmortal, but Muzan cant have that, he is too selfish to ever have that, pass on the torch, teaching others so they build on your creation.
In the end He did try to inherit his will to someone who could have been an even better version of himself but it didn't work out. Everyone is going to freak out from now onwards Infinity castle arc ❤️❤️❤️🔥👌👌👌👌👌😭😭😭 The final arc 👌❤️🔥😭

I really love the discussion for this episode! you dive deep into the meanings and symbolism in each scene especially when kagaya talks about how human will lasts for eternity, and how it was portrayed in other aspects of the show as well such as in the battle between rengoku and akaza, and the passing down of the hinokami kagura in Tanjiro's family for generations. The discussion after the shows that you watch is the reason you guys are one of my favorite reaction channel! I am so excited for what comes after this arc. The movies are going to be crazy good!
Demon Sailor really is the anime of our time. All the buildup of 4 seasons was for this and you just know it'll be worth it. Ufotable cooked once again, they sure know how to hype up a cliffhanger.
Sucks that it'll be 3 movies but you know it'll be worth it at least.
Sick episode, i love the idea of immortality and how, unless he kills every human on earth, the accumulation of resentment against Muzan will lead to a guaranteed atonement because someone will always take up the responsibility and carry on the will of those that died before them.

Final episode so good i had to listen to the first op again. Kagaya's speech was my favorite part of the arc back when reading and i'm glad it was done so well, they went hard on the imagery.
Just to remind everyone that from this point on to the end of Muzan is just one day in original timeline. All the three movies are canonically happening in the same night.
This single night lasted for and accounts for about 1/3rd of the manga's total runtime. As a manga reader, it has my two favorite fights in the series, one of which is unrivaled as my favorite in all of fiction. It contains a plethora of flashbacks significant enough that by the end, every question you might have will be answered, and emotional enough to make you cry over.
When people say, unlike just about every other anime they've watched, Demon Slayer ended well: they're talking about this arc.

No way 😂 that would literally kill the show and everything that they have built up so far. The hype will go down with each passing year. They need to release each film within a six month gap (2025-2026) and the final arc should come by 2027 at least. Or else many people would lose interest. It's not like they can cut between each fight in the infinity castle because it's not just the fight there are other things happening in between each fight. If they trim down the Manga it would be a bad decision.

In the Kimetsu No Yaiba Wiki, it's said that Tamayo is physically 19 (meaning that she became a demon at 19 years old). It's also known that she ate her children after becoming a demon. If she was already a mother at 19, that means that her kids must have been extremely young ; they were most probably toddlers, or even babies...My heart broke when I realized this.
God, this makes me hate Muzan even more. The poor girl just wanted to see her kids grow up, but because of Michael Jackson Wannabe, she was basically forced to become a child-eating demon before even reaching 20. No wonder she wants Muzan to die after all these centuries...
Overall, Tamayo reminds me of La Llorona, a Mexican legend : A woman that killed her own children in a state of madness/demonic hunger, and then goes on to hurt more people. The difference being that Tamayo saw the errors of her way and redeemed herself long ago thanks to Yoriichi.
This also explains why she cries when Nezuko hugged her : Because, as a mother who failed her family, she feels like she doesn't deserve it.
To me, Tamayo is probably one of the most tragic characters in the series.

I know i'm 8 days late and this is trivial, but I like how now that Zenitsu is locked in, he's diving head first into danger. Compared to everyone else who is falling feet first. I just think it's such a nice contrast to former self, who would've preferred anything but head first.

Don't know if you remember but Muzan was sick and close to death before he got the blue wysteria treatment and became the first demon. If Ubuyashiki is from the same family then that means they suffer from the same illness but without the wysteria treatment. Muzan's illness was geneting and keeps being passed down in his family.

- Infinity castle aka Onigashima is a magical place where thebdemons hide and cannot be entered/infiltrated except by using bait (both zenitsu aka momotaro (peach boy from the origin story of demon slayer) and oyakata sama using bait. Momotaro with sake and oyakata sama sacrifice himself).
- The children of Oyakata sama are described as zashiki warashi, the legendary twins who are yokai and many said they cute and scary. there is zashiki warashi playing at night, indicating that oyakata sama is a successful businessman.
- When Muzan said he is goin to sent the army of demon slayer into hell, it is said that in Japanese belief there is something called Avici Hell which is the lowest and worst level. You will be in a state of falling for a long period of time until you finally landing and then receive painful torture from the oni or demon.

I think muzan trapping every single slayer was also instigated by the master, hence also another reverse psychological trap, he said muzan's demons will die if muzan die, but the slayer corp won't die even if they lose their master, which made muzan flip and he went like I'll kill everyone and wipe it all, but by doing that he also teleported some more capable swordsman inside which shouldn't even be there, like Zenitsu, Inosuke, Genya and Kanao which will prove to be a lethal mistake in the endgame (at least i hope), hence ubuyashiki winning the mind games, bro was a schemer through and through
