Jerry, I just purchased the 24 RoadGlide, last week of January, so far I'm loving it. Seriously agree with you on this being one of the best, especially with the upgrades! I'm really enjoying it!!!
I sell Harley-Davidsons, but have only rode the new model a short distance. I was in awe how much more agile the handling was. Thank-you for your free videos and such a great review of this bike! I hope to sell one tomorrow!
I’m a fellow Harley Salesman and I have to say, I think they nailed it! Have a great year!
I wish they had left the buttons more like the previous models
It appears to me that changing gears and engagement of the clutch is much smoother than my 2022, so you are spot on. Nice review. Thank you for sharing
Great ride and review. The 360 camera gives a great perspective.
A friend and riding partner bought a 2023 Roadglide last summer and rode it 600 Km on first run. Beautiful machine!
Absolutely love the side view while riding! But the camera should be on the other side were the sun is hitting it from different angles. Not in that damn shadow. Subscribe great content!
I bought that exact same motorcycle. Getting in broken in now. Great bike. Thanks for the review 👍
I believe they changed the shifting pawl in the transmission for smoother shifting and into 1st/finding neutral. Love the Whiskey Fire color and content of your channel.
Thanks Jerry. Just traded my 22’ RK for this bike. As much as I loved that bike, I LOVE this bike! Crazy difference. My dealer brought my bars back before I left with it.
Enjoy it
Great review Jerry! Looks like a great ride for sure.
Anxiously waiting for the newly refined version of this in the Limited next year!
Lol
Beautiful looking bike Jerry. I wish i could afford a new one. The price on that one was pretty nice. interesting that you ride Electra Glides, for the most part, and call out this bike as the "second best" and the CVO the best. I would have loved to have gotten a CVO years ago when i got My Electra Glide Limited but it has served me well for 75000 miles and still going strong. plus being older now at 71, bikes are starting to get a little heavy. appreciate the segment, thanks for sharing.
If you'd like to take 300 LBS off your CVO go to ridelikeapro.com and get yourself a copy of the Ride Like a Pro Experience video. In that video you'll see tiny 5'2'' 120lb women handling 850 lb motorcycles like a toy. That video will show you 3 techniques that you can master in 3 or 4 hours. You'll think your bike lost 300lbs with these techniques.
@@motorman857 I'll go back and watch them. I have 5 or 6 Ride Like A Pro DVD's i bought years ago when you first started marketing them, i think. was probably about 2006 or so +- a couple of years. always enjoy your segments. thanks for sharing them.
I agree with you on the two best colors, whiskey fire and blue burst. Gorgeous bikes!
You lucky dog . I love that fire whiskey color on that road. Glide looks really nice . Looks like you enjoy that ride.
I test rode this model today - even the same colors. I would echo your assessment on everything. However, I found a lot of wind coming up from under the dashboard - even more so than my ‘21 RGS. The suspension is much better than on my ‘21. Little or no buffeting coming up over the windshield and, like you pointed out, the shifting is smoother and quieter. HD will definitely have a winner on their hands when bring this update to the Road Glide Ultra Limited!
Very nice bike love the colour thanks for sharing take care
Nice machine ! Great color!
I traded my 2023 Road Glide for a 2024 model two days ago. Yesterday, I put 250 miles on it. It was worth trading. Controls feel more upscale, power is good, and finding neutral is easy.
Thanks for this review. I am interested in this model, although the alpine green has my attention, and going to test ride it very soon. Your opinion is always a factor for me.
Jerry, you have earned your opinion. We respect it, even if we don’t agree. On the new RG, I agree with you from the safety and comfort of my couch. I am trading my R18 in for a 24 RG this year. I have zero issues with my R18. I believe it is better than a 23 RG/SG. But the new models truly step up the Harley experience and it's time for me to switch.
You make a great spokesperson for the Motor Company.
If you are impressed, I'm impressed 👍
Thanks Jerry
I respect your opinions, keep them coming!!
In addition to water cooled heads, the 2024s have larger/reshaped ports, new flow intake, larger throttle body and air box.🤠✌️
I just wish it had analog dials. The smaller digital display on the FXBB is great, but, on a dresser, I'm not so sure. Either way, be good Jerry and all. It's not quite riding season up in New England. A warm 22 degrees today!
Sharp looking machine!
I’m stuck with a 22 RG. I keep thinking about a new one but then I go riding and I have so much fun I forget about the new ones.
Just listen to your comments sounds great thanks again
Great info video as usual. I am very interested in this model. Currently have an ‘18 Fatboy and looking to move up to a touring model that provides more wind protection at highway speeds.
I'll never own a Harley because of the way I was treated at a Harley dealership in 1976, it was like they were doing me a favor sell me one, since then I've seen that Harley attitude over and over again but I do enjoy your Channel,i ride a 1700 CC Vulcan with no regrets that I've never owned a Harley .
1976? It's a good thing you don't hold a grudge. 🤣
Wow, I am impressed you are that petty. It is beyond me how someone can have something happen nearly 50 years ago, and assume everything is the exact same and never look back.
And again with the Harley “attitude” bullshite. The only attitude I’ve ever observed is happiness and joy to be out riding. I swear that whole narrative is a story someone made up 60 years ago and the lemmings just have it on repeat.
Really nice; if I didn't already have two bikes...
Wish I had the space, not to mention the money!
Might have to sell my bikes and start over 😮
New Harley’s are looking really good. I wonder how to keep track of overall reliability with so many engine changes since 2014. I really hope they made one that will last and some will get out and put some miles on them. Most used at the dealer have less than 6 thousand miles, many less than 600. When I start seeing more Milwaukee 8’s with 45-70k on them, it’ll make me wonder if my 11 year old Goldwing needs a new owner or not. With no dealer time and the original battery, it’s hard to ride anything else. I did own a Roadmaster and a R18 TC. The R18 was a disappointment despite it being beautiful and the Roadmaster didn’t like starting in cold weather and roasted you in warm weather but was a great riding machine. So glad for choices!
Those bikes are beautiful and they brought the liquid cool on and it should be great
I traded in a '21 Street Bob for a '24 Heritage and one of my first thoughts was, "I don't think I'll change the exhaust on this one." Fourth Harley I've bought new and first one that doesn't sound like a sewing machine from the factory.
Nice bike, nice price. But, Jerry, I will have to stay with my Heritage Softail for a while, at least till my "Ship comes in", lol....... I just hope I ain't at the "Airport" when it comes in😂😂😂🤠
I watched your video a couple weeks ago in the cvo. I have a 2020 Vulcan Vaquero. But I fell in love with the new looks/dash etc of the 2024 street glide. However I live in Canada and I make just shy of $100,000 a year. So I went to a Harley dealer last week and imagine my surprise went I found the price of alot of these bikes were out of reach for me.
So here in canada a base 2024 street glide starts around $32,000. When i bought my vaquero I paid $18,300. Now I admit the new street glides tech is way above what I have in my bike, but some of the new harleys there had sticker prices above $60,000.
So down in the southern states if you can ride all year then I can see spending that kind of money. But I can only ride 6 maybe 7 months a year. I dont know whi can afford the higher end harleys but I know I cant.
But I am going back on there test ride day and check out the base street glide. Beautiful bike. Keep up the great Videos!
Tons of good used harleys on the market with low kms and a third of the price, drop 5Gs into motor and eat that hideous RG for breakfast. That bigass TV screen is going to cost big money to fix when warranty is up.
I like the look of that new dash and windshield. Cool camera view from the right where the front wheel appeared to stop & go backwards as well while riding. I still prefer the Streetglide look. Also I do like the Goldwing baggers, but my only issue with the Goldwing is they are too tall if you are eg: 5'8, so they need to come down a few inches. Not enough adjustment at all in the height.
The new Road Glide appears to be outstanding! These are the changes Harley has needed to make for quite a while now. I tested the R18 last year and found it to be an absolutely horrible motorcycle….cannot believe how thoughtless BMW was on that production.
I do agree Harley Davidson has a winner with new lower prices and more motorcycle for the money. I am not a fan of the digital led gauges because it's a single source of failure.
Follow your channel and have your DVDS (they hale a lot). I just got the RG in White with chrome. The blacked out version is overkill for me. This is a vast improvement form a 17 SGS. thanks for the videos. Only thing is what is your recommendation for the HD extended service plan? yes or no
Check around at other warranties and see which is the best deal and best coverage.
Traded my 17 RG in for a 24 two weeks ago. It is awesome. The factory suspension is great and that display......... 👌
Did you get the navigation? My dealership knew extremely little about the new system, didn't even seem sure about how to activate it.
@quiettime6871 didn't get the nav yet but will eventually. My dealership seems very knowledgeable on all the updates and systems. Black Jack Harley in Florence, SC. I think you can actually install it yourself but you need a wifi connection.
Another absolutely beautiful bike 🏍️. All your videos are so well done. What video software do you use or would recommend? Do you have a video on what you use?
I use a GOPro 11 and a insta 360x2. If your asking about what I use to edit, it's Movavi editor. All the features I need and highly intuitive.
@@motorman857 Interesting you use both cameras. Thank you I’ll check it out!
I really like the new Road Glide. It may be time to part with my Tried and True 2012 RG 103.
Spot on review but I'll keep my paid for bike.
Just got one this week ,billard Grey and chrome .
That makes two of us
HD Stage 2 511 cam for it is producing 131TQ/119HP on stock exhaust.
Hey Jerry do you know why HD Plant in York pa is closed for tours ??
No, I don't know.
Awesome!!
Thanks for this video.
Have you compared a new Goldwing (2018+) to a Road Glide in order to determine which you like better? Do you have a video of you comparing the two?
I've ridden a 2018 Wing and I've owned a couple of the previous generation. Fine motorcycles but I prefer the classic American styling and the character of a big V-twin.
@@motorman857 Thanks, Jerry! That’s fair enough.
I just got old I will stay with my 2020 RKS 131 I am 71
Might be time to ride the Royal Enfield Super Meteor. It compliments my Harley for a fraction of the price. Simple without all the crap on pricier bikes. Aftermarket exhaust sounds better than my Harley.
Jerry, do you ride with earplugs? I have some hearing problems from being on multiple aircraft carriers and that has caused me to have constant ear ringing and myoclonus in my ears so I was just curious if the wind bothers your hearing at higher speeds.
On rides over 2 hours I wear ear plugs.
The throatiness of the exhaust thru the years is why I haven’t changed my exhaust on my 2019, also now having ridden it for 50K miles it is much louder…
I liked the 2024 RG for the fact I felt like I was on a recliner going down the road. We took it up to speeds above 85 and I agree with you Jerry, there was no turbulence or buffeting whatsoever. Also, I agree. The bars were to high for me as well. Great review.
The bars offer plenty of adjustment forward or back, to fit any rider.
Hey Jerry, my 20 yr old vhs tape of ride like a pro was just eaten up by my old vhs machine. Just wondering if the warranty was still good?
😂
Of course. Just go to ridelikeapro.com and get the latest video The Ride Like a Pro Experience in dvd or download for only $19.95 since you bought the VHS 23 years ago.
I heard the suspension is much beter on the new 24s also
Hello Jerry
The Roadglide is a great ride but I thought when you test road the BMW 2022 R18B First Edition that you would not mind to have that model in your stable??!!
I wouldn't mind having it in my stable. I just wouldn't buy one.
@@motorman857ok I understand but it seems you had a lot of positive moments on the 2022 BMW r18B????
Do the higher bars on the road glide reduce shoulder pain? After a few hours on my street glide my shoulders are killing me.
It depends on the person's size, arm length etc..
absolutely hate the sting ray high rise handle bars..always have since 2014.. scared of the plastic air intakes developing vacuum leaks.. like the black trim..don't want any chrome on the motor at all.. bike looks good overall..
I agree a 100 %
How did you find the ride vs your ST? I just traded my 2023 ST for a 2024 RG. I'm here in Canada so I'm a month or so from getting to try it out.
They are very similar. The main difference is the amount of air blocked by the new fairings.
what’s the prices , i was at route 66 Harley , and educating myself on the differences .. a standard was 21600 & 23600 after mark ups that was a 2023 . he was very informative
At the beginning of the video I gave you the price right on the screen with the base price and with the spec shown in the video.
apologies
The. “FIRST BEST TOURER” !
NEWER RIDERS.....Watch his right hand when you can. Also watch when he's presented with a 'side of a vehicle'. He covers the front brake every time there's a car that could pull out. Great habits keep you safe!
Do you prefer the Road Glide to the Street glide? If so, why?
I like the Street Glide better just because I like the looks of the Batwing fairing a little more than the Shark nose.
Thanks for the quick response!
The clutch on the 2024 seems harder than the 2023. Did you notice any difference.
No difference.
Those aren’t stock bars are they? They seem quite high.. but maybe they come that way now, I agree they’d have to come back some for real riding.
Yes they are stock bars.
The new standard big tourers Street and Road Glide are at the top of Grand American Touring, together with the Indian Roadmaster, Pursuit, Challenger, Chieftain and Goldwing Tour.
Pro HD: classic look, quality look, classic and overall engine power, accessory market support is , huge established HOG community
Pro Indian: chassis, modern engine on some (Challenger, Pursuit), older/cooler history (that has nothing to do with current models)
Pro Honda: butter-smooth engine and overall bike, great Goldwing community
Rest is taste and preferences. Budget between all is comparable. If you’re bothered about that, it’s not your bike.
All have serious gremlins in their new electronics integration.
I’d love to see a big touring softail chassis with HD and american assembled bikes. I won’t buy Thailand/Vietnam/India bikes from them, so to me the new bikes are a total fail to the “american dream bike”. So is recently Polaris with their polish manufacturing, at least it’s european, but again, that’s not what I bought or wanted, if I’d want a new one. My Chieftain is one of the models from USA.
No, I do not believe american assembly is superior to any other, I’d rather bet against it, but it’s the notion to buy a bike conceived, created and built at home turf. Like BMW from Berlin, not the ones from India, like MotoGuzzi from Mandello/como lake, … I wouldn’t buy a Romania Build Moto Guzzi, regardless how well romanians speak italian. A Guzzi comes from the one and only original Guzzi Factory and so a Harley or Indian should come from their hometown factory. Sorry, I’m old school, just for the love of it, not the hate against China. I’m happy to buy a good expensive Bike from china, but i don’t know which, yet. There are very good CFmotos around, or Vogue…
Goldwing is another story, anyway.
I love it without even riding it. Jerry, can you loan me some money? 😉
So these dont come with the rear tour pack or leg fairings. How much more is that?
I don't think they have new lowers to fit 2024 yet ?
Old tour pac and docking hdw do fit.
Street Glides and Road Glides never came with a tour pack. But if you go to advanblack you can get a quality tour pack already painted, for half the price of the H.D. tour pack.
@motorman857 I did not know that. I only had a couple different electra glides and never realized it was aftermarket on those you mentioned. Thanks for the reply and keep the great videos coming.
Why is the display flashing so much?
Probably not flashing in person. A lot of times it's only because of the camera/replay on the video. Not sure the technical reasons.
Heard the left board scrape in the parking lot. Shhh. Don't tell anyone.
Finally put decent bars on it.
Motorcycle Riding Gear Police checking in here. It's noted that you were riding without gloves in this video. Why did that happen? 😀
I have to use the right hand to press the buttons on the cameras.
@@motorman857 Now for a serious question: do you think the Police Road King is the best value in a heavyweight cruiser/tourer?
@@georgecook5120Of course. You get the 114 motor and the RDRS system, cornering ABS etc. all for around 21K
That digital dashboard looks cheap and the bike seems top heavy to me. That's just me though cuz I no longer care for big baggers. Harley definitely doesn't need ride modes. It's gimmicky. Give me the Streetbob or Low Rider and I'm happy.
The riding modes on this bike work very well.
Thanks Jerry but I still think ride modes are gimmicky. I have them on other bikes I own like Indian and BMW and they are gimmicky on those as well.😆But then again I used to say the same about ABS brakes but I eventually came to like them.
The best touring motorcycle is the one you like"
If this is the second best, which is the best?
Watch the video and you'll know.
CVO
😊
2023 Ultra Limited is a great bike, so don't try say that the 2024 is so much better.
They definitely made some good changes. The new bikes feel a LOT lighter, 16 pounds from the very top of the bikes. Makes them feel more nimble. I hate that they changed ALL the buttons on the bars.
No thanks on these new models there’s a lot low mileage bikes without the flatscreen dash that will cost you thousands when it fails out of warranty
Love my Indian Challenger # 21 never go back to Harley
I just realized these things have solid rotors. They don’t even have semi floating, so cheap so aged.
Actually, the bikes have dual floating rotors. But c'mon, you wouldn't know a floating rotor from a rubber raft. 🤣
@@motorman857 yeah if you upgrade them. Heaven forbid HD make something not 30 years old standard. Show me the air gap on a stock road-glide front rotor. I would rather have a rubber raft.
@@michaelclark8253 Nope. Floating rotors are standard and have been for years.
@@motorman857 nope
No way a 5'2" rider is flat footing that bike when its half inch taller than the 23 model according to Harleys specs
Yes way.
@@motorman857 I would love to know how without platform shoes. I am 5'5" and cant flat foot my 18 and couldn't the 24s either today
I honestly am not a fan of the infotainment screen for the 2024 glides. I like old fashioned gauges. I also, I am not as fond of Indian's style, particularly the older style Springfield/Roadmaster, and the fender design of the chieftain.
Challenger, problem solved
Street glide just looks like a Harley. That shark nose is goofy
Jerry... this is ridiculous. You really need to visit a different dealership.
Go ride a new BMW K1600 GTL, then ride the R1250 RT and 1250 GS.
All these Harleys are the same.
The bikes you listed are not in the same category. Apples and oranges. They are all fine motorcycles but as I said in the video, I like the styling of the classic American motorcycles Harley makes.
And all are better than a Bavarian Milk Wagon
@@kurtengel6029😂
@@motorman857 I thought you were talking about touring bikes.
@kurtengel6029 my K1600 GTL rides circles around all of these Harleys. Not one of them is nearly as good. I've owned one, and ridden several others. The Harleys just can't hang with a bike built for real riders.
I know parking lot handling is super important to all of these bar hoppers, because they barely leave the bar parking lots, but to the rest of us we want high speed handling, braking and performance. Go ride one, you might figure it out one day.
Digital gauges just SUX……want a “real” gauge.
It still doesn't have the quality of a Goldwing. My 2023 Harley runs well but it has too many China parts and Harley warranty sucks.
You think your Goldwing doesn't have China parts?
most of the parts are USA on the 2001-2010 Goldwing. They were made in OHIO. Even my Panasonic key fob that came with it was made in the USA. I paid $13k for the Goldwing in 2002. I sold it in 2024 for $9K. Let's see what a $50K tri-glide will sell for in 22 years.
@@hitechrr Goldwings and all Honda motorcycle production left the U.S. many years ago. Honda's are now made in Japan, China, India and Taiwan as well as many other countries where labor is cheap. Parts for every product sold in the U.S. come from China. (see NAFTA)
I went to the OHIO factory in 2010 before they moved to Japan. I had a 2002 Goldwing and a 2003 VTX1800. both were built there. I just bought my Harley in 2023. It was my first Harley in the 52 years that I have had a motorcycle license. It is also my last Harley. By the way, I have shown your videos at Blue Knight meetings years ago.
Beautiful looking bike but at 30k you could get a Goldwing for less and get a much better bike
Have you priced a Goldwing? $26K to well over 30K and the Wing will give you all the souls of a refrigerator.
@@motorman857 bike has reverse and DCT auto transmission six cylinder more power way faster super smooth and it's a Honda plus power windshield stereo navigation so much better
@@user-kn2ut3gm4n Well then buy a Goldwing if that's your preference. But watch any youtube video from Sturgis or Daytona and note how many Harleys you see vs Goldwings.
Everyone says '$4000 less' blah blah. HD spent decades as over priced and under delivering on technology. Maybe they are finally convinced that tech and R&D is a good thing, we'll see. I'll never buy a new bike from them again.
Saving 4K is just blah, blah blah. Uhh, right, sure. The good news is, at least so far, you can buy anything you want in America. But if you have no interest in Buying a new Harley, why click on this video?
The styling is moving toward the styling of the now defunct Victory and current Indian Commander. I am not a big fan of either.
Harley Davidson styling has stayed pretty much the same for about 100 years. Victory, Indian, BMW, and all Japanese cruisers/tourers have attempted to copy the original since the late 1960's with limited success.
the new look is ugly, and i don't want to ride a computer on 2 wheels, jmo. like your channel tho.
I agree also.
Tell that to the government. They are responsible for the computer control on all combustion motors. From lawnmowers to motorcycles.
Too much computer crap
Indian style looks cheap
Agree Indian style does not work
Good-Day: Jerry, Always enjoy your video contents and classes.
