I’m surprised at all the negative and “helpful “ comments - looks a fun micro adventure and there’s great value in doing things your own way rather than the easy/comfortable way

First time hearing about this swim packing. Definitely looks like a fun adventure but I'd definitely rather do it as a group. I guess finding others to do it is difficult. Seems like something I would like to try just once for fun.

I have a stand up paddle board. I always wanted to have a setup where I do maybe 10K swim, then 10K hike but the paddle board is too heavy to carry for hiking, Maybe this is the solution. I should sell my board and buy this gear instead.

An amazing adventure but I wonder if you might treat yourself to a very lightweight one man tent - just to wake up dry :)

looks like a very effective way to get hypothermia , boats were invented for a reason.

That was awesome. Not heard of swim packing before but I think I can appreciate the appeal. Definitely niche!

Looks really fun but I wouldn't walk into English water bare foot... no way! You could step on anything sharp and dangerous. Wear some footwear, old trainers or swim socks/shoes, for some protection at least.

Nice swim and camp. The ruckraft is an extra hassle you don't need, can just tow the drybag. Unless it doubles up as a pillow :)

What about drag? A ruckraft reduces the drag.

This is so cool!! I love the idea of getting out to a spot off the grid. Never would have thought to swim with a bag!

Love the idea of doing this. I was fascinated to see how little gear was packed - just my open-water swimming gear usually takes up more bags than that alone 🤣 Brilliant to watch though and it takes you to some fabulous wild camping spots! Putting already cold and wet swimming gear on the next day is something I just couldn't face. I'm far too much of a comfort-wimp!

Very cool! I am wondering why you wouldn't wear neoprene foot thingies of some kind? I use booties because I'm a rafter, but they come with fin attachment points so there must be some swimmers and divers using them too.

I do this quite a bit, I've done Windermere, and Loch Ness like this but I take an inflatable kayak and tow that, it's nice to do a bit of both, brilliant way to get to see these beautiful places x

BMC.... how does this fit alongside your environment and access policy?? This video shows and promotes wild camping in a place that is already seriously damaged by this exact activity... It didn't show the toilet roll... Remnants of fires... Litter from cooking... Cut down trees and stripped bark.

@@AspenandEmery to anybody watching and thinking of trying it a kayak would be a much safer option. To land on an island to wildcamp needing to warm up and survive the night and have no way of getting back other than getting cold again seems wreckless and a good way to get in I need help situation.
