I find your replies to people commenting on your videos disrespectful. Those suggesting that an influx of people (digital nomads, retirees, refugees, foreign property investors) will lead to a shortage of affordable housing for native Albanians are making a good point. This happened both in Mexico and Portugal. Their nationals were being priced out of affordable apartments and homes. Both have subsequently changed their residency requirements to quell immigration.

Thanks for the video! It was informative re: apt. rents in the heart of the city. How cool you're living your dream. You may know this already but there seem to be lots of American retirees interested in Albania, maybe outside the heart of the city and even other cities. Just a bit of constructive feedback (sorry, don't know how to DM you, lol) as you get going in Albania. I don't mind cursing personally but not sure I want to do business with someone that curses while working. For me personally, the video comes across as a little "wheeler dealer" and immature. It was a bit long and I muted a lot of it due to the music, haha. Again, just my personal opinion as a 57 year old. Maybe not your target audience or this is your personal channel. Keep up the hustle though and best of luck on your business! Cheers.
There are too many fake people already doing it. I'm not trying to follow the herd. Of course, it's wheeling and dealing to some extent. Everyone is, at least, we aren't being fake. There are lots of fake disingenuous people on the internet. Target demographic is mostly non woke. People who aren't politically correct. Also, the video is somewhat old. Check out our newer stuff. There is much better editing and less cursing, not that I see a problem with cursing. Lots of terrible people don't curse. Look at this woke mind virus and what they are doing to children and to society. As a native New Yorker, sometimes we can be brash, but we are known for being straightforward and honest. I think back then, I wanted to offend the easily offended. Now, i have definitely calmed down and become a bit more business focused. It's worth having a look if you have some time.
What is the name White Monkey about? There must be an anecdote. What have you chosen in partnership with local Albanians to help keep pricing from grandification that is happening in so many countries? Iwould imagine making more money appeals to property owners, but wouldn't want what happened to Tblisi harken to Tirana. 😢 Do you have a list of the best local merchants for incoming expats to direct business to local merchants? I saw a video about the local culture by Kevan Hudson that was really helpful and takes about the amazing local produce. The availability of gas burners and space looks great, and most of the apartments you showed seem more comfortably spacious than a lot of places in W Europe.

Commonly first and last, and the agent gets paid half of one month's rent as a fee. Best to get a reliable attorney to answer questions. Maybe these guys have met one. I've seen several expats who found great honest attorneys in Tirana to ensure everything is correct.

I will say this there is a lot of services that exist in other markets that definitely do not exit there and there is a growing middle class around the capital looking for new things. My concern is grandification caused by anyone renting at non- standard local prices, which is an issue that has negatively affected many places in Europe. Great thing about local Albanians is they are happy to tell to if you're Clausen paying too much for a place, or not being paid a fair wage by an Albanian company. Just avoid the people driving around in Maseratis and such as they're most likely involved in drug pushing and best to keep out of your life. Most people are nice, but very poor, and Edgar is cheap to many Westerners isn't cheap to them.
You sound really hyped up, and sugarcoating a lot with rose tinted glasses. I love Albania, but maybe you come across as too cocky and miss giving actual, helpful info (neighborhood names, rent is monthly, what it takes to rent a place, how you find them, etc).

@rebornabroad Charity? Why do you have to be sarcastic? You can't start a nomad on the road business like that and think you can consider yourself a real professional consulting business. It's not a law firm. There are plenty of professionals in firms helping anyone who asks questions. Either a new independent start up gains positive reviews and hopefully survives, or they get tanked by the treatment they give to "possible" clients. I read most of your responses to people who visited for the 1st time, and you went off on them. Word of mouth is powerful when it comes to recommendations or a "warning."
Dont listen to yhis guys . Albania will get as expensive as Portugal in couple of years. Russian/Ukrainian was kicked out from Turkey and mass moving there as we speak They will raise all prices and there will be there to stay
True ding dong over here lol 😆 😂 🤣 it may eventually increase, but clearly your to ignorant of history to know that Albania will never be a country that allows in a lot of slavs. They have spent a very long time in conflict with them, but yes, suddenly, it will be overrun with slavs. I think someone doesn't understand the Albanian mind set.
True that ignorant people coming from other countries can cause grandification in housing pricing like elsewhere in Europe, but let's encourage anyone vlogging about Albania to educate people to check the local normal market pricing which will prevent that problem. Cultural awareness never hurts. Big thing is that Russia invaded and occupied this country for quite a while, completely holding it back, and Russian influence caused some pretty nasty generational scars on top of neighboring country encroachments. Locals are really nice, while extremely traditional, but overall kind and helpful neighbors. It's also a small world, so if you create a bad rep for yourself, word gets around.
