Regarding "toilet plume:" how about closing the lid before flushing? Isn't that one reason that toilet seats come with a cover? Shouldn't the lid be down when not in use? I do not understand people who leave the lid up.
If they have urinary or BM urgency, there's no time to lose in sitting down and relieving yourself. No time to lift the lid up. I'm not one of those, but I had a roommate who wanted me to leave the lid up for her sake.
I haven't tried this on our grout yet. I usually use it to sterilize nail clippers. I also have it on hand for our houseplants, there are so many uses for plants!
This was a nice list. When I have an overstock of a cleaning product like this, I check out your channel to see how to use up the product. I enjoy other videos, but you're sometimes my reference tool.
I love using hydrogen peroxide because it’s harmless to marine life. And it works! It’s the only substance that removed mould in the shower from a previous resident. I also recommend always leaving it on for 10 mins before rinsing as this is how long it takes to disinfect.
Thanks for a great video on "H2 O2!" Been using white vinegar for produce (1 part vinegar/3 parts water). Which method, do you think, is more effective?? Maybe both!
I use it to clean the cat litter boxes. Every couple of weeks I empty them out and wash them with Dawn and hydrogen peroxide. I feel it takes really cleans and take away the smell.
I have been putting my cosmetic sponges in the washing machine along with my resuable face cloths - with some oxiclean - and they always come out really clean that way.
I want to use it to clean my grout. I have a question though. I’ve bought hydrogen peroxide from three different stores recently, none of it was expired. But, none of the peroxide fizzed at all! I put it on baking soda, stainless steel, a cat scratch, and a slice of potato per a Rachel Ray video. No bubbles at all. Is it really possible that all three bottles are bad? I don’t know where to buy it now.
I buy spray bottles of hydrogen peroxide. I found it when my 3-year-old granddaughter got an infection where her stud earrings were. Easy to spray and doesn’t hurt like other medicines and can hit all the hard to get places.
I've used HP mixed with a bit of dish detergent for laundry stains but I like the idea of using it in the bleach holder for a cleaner clean. I do wash my reusable bags but probably not enough. Will add HP from now on. And for the toilet stains, this is a must try, I have very hard water in my area.
Melissa, Hydrogen Peroxide is also great for getting out chocolate stains in fabric - just be sure to test on a small hidden area first to ensure the fabric is colorfast.
Sounds like you could use it for everything , i have been spraying my bathroom sinks, door knobs, toilet, floor and shower with it and let it sit for 10 min then i use a norwex to wipe everything down ,,since i dont need to scrub anything i should probably just use this?
Mixing hydrogen peroxide with vinegar creates peracetic acid, which is dangerous to inhale and can irritate skin and eyes. I'm not sure about mixing it with other cleaners, but I imagine the result could be the same. Best not to risk it.
I also use 70% alcohol with about 5 drops of Dawn as a sanitizing all purpose cleaner. It’s amazing! The alcohol scent evaporates within a couple of minutes.
Yes! It’s the only thing that kills mould properly. It kills the actual spores, where bleach doesn’t (it only lightens them). I got this information from a scientist here on YT.
Thank you for these tips to cleaning. I'll use hydrogen peroxide on the cutting boards. The other tip I'll do is washing the toilet bowl and the grout.😃
So, in order for hydrogen peroxide to actually disinfect, it has to be used at a particular concentration for a set exposure time (depending on the surface). Don't expect that throwing some hydrogen peroxide on something (or in the wash) is going to properly disinfect the item or surface.
I;ve never seen it in anything other than a brown bottle. Problem is we only have 6 or 9 percent in the UK as they are not allowed to sell anything stronger. And it is not cheap! You wouldn't use it for large cleaning jobs.
Just to be clear, I think you mean straight 3% hydrogen peroxide. You can actually purchase up to 30% these days, and you really don't want to use that straight.
I only clicked on because I thought you'd mention cleaning shower tiles. I used peroxide once in a solution of something and sprayed the tiles. I didn't have to do anything except rinse the tiles afterward. I have since forgotten what the solution was and hoped you would talk about it, but "Naah!"
Too much work. Use rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) 70% in a spray bottle, full strength. It won't damage most surfaces and dissipates without too much scrubbing or buffing. I buy oxy powder for cleaning clothing stains and use in my soak cycle before starting my wash. There! 👏 I just saved you a slew of time! ☺️
Maybe I'll clean my grout with the baking soda / peroxide mix, then use the leftovers and the brush to get my teeth pearly white! 😁 Kidding. I have no grout.
Hey Melissa M. I follow most all your advice (on cleaning, not politics ). I have a brown bottle sprayer, but it can see in to it. Is that safe from contamination by light to user for disinfecting in bathroom? Thanks M.
But isn't the usual 3 step for cweaingin and disinfecting 1) Clean the cutting board with DIY dish soap, water and vinegar, 2) Rinse with water 3) Disinfect with hydro peroxide don't rinse Thanks Melissa M.
Just before Covid shut down the country, I purchased 2 cases because there were no other cleaners available. Use what you have is my moto!!!
Hi Melissa, how long can you store hydrogen peroxide? And is there a way to tell if a bottle has lost its effectiveness? Thank you!😊

Will use to clean the toilet!!! Thank you Melissa 😊 Joan

I tried using it for diy toilet bowl cleaner and it worked magically!
I love using hydrogen peroxide because it’s harmless to marine life. And it works! It’s the only substance that removed mould in the shower from a previous resident. I also recommend always leaving it on for 10 mins before rinsing as this is how long it takes to disinfect.
Use Zote soap for makeup brushes.

Definitely my makeup brushes and sponges! Thanks for the tips 🤩
I'm going to try the grout cleaning tip. Thanks Melissa!
I used this on my grout and was AMAZED at how good it looks! Yay! Thanks for sharing these tips. : )

Hydrogen peroxide only fizzles if there’s bacteria present.
I buy spray bottles of hydrogen peroxide. I found it when my 3-year-old granddaughter got an infection where her stud earrings were. Easy to spray and doesn’t hurt like other medicines and can hit all the hard to get places.
I’ll be using it for the grocery bags, thank you!
I keep a spray bottle of Dawn and hydrogen peroxide mixed all the time. I had no idea it became unstable when it hit the light 😧Good to know!

Hi Melissa, since it’s flu season, what’s the cleaning I should do to prevent sickness?
Sounds like you could use it for everything , i have been spraying my bathroom sinks, door knobs, toilet, floor and shower with it and let it sit for 10 min then i use a norwex to wipe everything down ,,since i dont need to scrub anything i should probably just use this?
Is there any difference/benefit to using it with warm or hot water?
I love peroxide! So many uses! ❤
I will buy it today.

The fact I know a David Pinto and know that that’s not a common name makes me think you’re the David Pinto I know...
Shower grout! Thank you.
I use it a lot.
Do you use the inside of the tank do you use
I'm going to use H2O2 to get rid of stains in my toilet. Thank you so much for your content :)
can you also explain why we don’t want to mix it with other toilet bowl cleaners? what happens?
Mixing hydrogen peroxide with vinegar creates peracetic acid, which is dangerous to inhale and can irritate skin and eyes. I'm not sure about mixing it with other cleaners, but I imagine the result could be the same. Best not to risk it.
Can we use hydrogen peroxide to mop floor( tiles or granite marbles )
Grout ...thanks!
All of them, thank you 🙌🏻
Thank you for this info!
Going to try my bathroom grout tomorrow. Thank you. Well okay I better do my makeup brushes too,
I also use 70% alcohol with about 5 drops of Dawn as a sanitizing all purpose cleaner. It’s amazing! The alcohol scent evaporates within a couple of minutes.
Can hydrogen peroxide be used to remove mold from hard surfaces?
I'm going to use it for my electric toothbrush head.
Always have Hydrogen Peroxide on hand!!! Joan 😊
Makeup sponge for sure😊 Happy Holidays to you and your family!!!

#1 Cleaning produce
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but isn't this an old video? Is it a reupload?
I’m going to try to clean our grout. I use hydrogen peroxide all the time on my son’s what baseball pants to get out stains.
I hope it works for you, it’s a great cleaning agent!
Plastic cutting boards are a source of microplastics.
Australian toilets don’t have the toilet ploom when they flush.
Motivated to use a cup in the bleach dispenser when I wash my jiujitsu gi 😮😊
Mmmmh it doesn't come in a brown bottle in the UK....
What does it come in over there?
I;ve never seen it in anything other than a brown bottle. Problem is we only have 6 or 9 percent in the UK as they are not allowed to sell anything stronger. And it is not cheap! You wouldn't use it for large cleaning jobs.
The ones I get from Amazon come in a white bottle, like the one vinegar comes in
She lives in the USA NOT IN UK
@ndean3296 no she doesn't, she lives in Canada... and I was talking about myself
The best thing to get rid of blood stains is salt and hot water.
After my dog got sprayed by a skunk last year, there are several bottles in my house lol. It is a lifesaver
😂😂😂❤❤❤😢😂😢
I have known people who effectively use Honey for cleaning
To remove toilet stain
Does bj have air tire
I will clean my toilet first!!!
I spray the water afterflush that lays in the toilet with mix of soap and bleech. So I keep the toilet white and hygienized
the toilet and also grout in the shower.
In Europe it can come in a yellow bottle!
Grout
If you leave the lid off it turns into H2O
Just to be clear, I think you mean straight 3% hydrogen peroxide. You can actually purchase up to 30% these days, and you really don't want to use that straight.
Always shut the lid before flushing as per Dr Oz years ago.

Hydrogen peroxide smells terrible. 🥴
Maybe I'll clean my grout with the baking soda / peroxide mix, then use the leftovers and the brush to get my teeth pearly white! 😁
Kidding. I have no grout.
Its rubbish. Didnt get the highlighter stain out of wool carpet and it discoloured the surdounding area
Hey Melissa M. I follow most all your advice (on cleaning, not politics ). I have a brown bottle sprayer, but it can see in to it. Is that safe from contamination by light to user for disinfecting in bathroom? Thanks M.
No, it must be opaque.

2) Rinse with water

I agree! Hydrogen peroxide will harmlessly break down into water and oxygen, so no need to rinse. Also, isn't it clean first and then disinfect? 🤔
