To be honest, this is my favorite AA! album. I loved the others but still, this one here....... it's hard to explain.

My favorite is still the self-titled. I just prefer Johnny's voice, plus the screams on there sound better to me.

Damn. Caleb's screams have improved so much. I just love them.
Man, after all these years the verse at 0:46 still sends chills down my spine. The descending/ascending guitar line, the ambient sounds in the background, the lyrics... So fucking good.

Caleb Shomo , the current frontman has also been in the band since 2008. He played synth. He didn't just pop out of nowhere recently.

No it's not. The message is that Caleb is severely depressed. He has such a lack of emotional connection with anything that there is no reason for him to do anything in life, so he gives up on everything. He feels "hopeless". The song is called "The Hopeless."
It has literally nothing to do with religion at all. Not one bit, lol.
I loved their sound before now and forever after! They're forever legit! Some auto-tuned stuff, eh... But now they're awesssome and are going to become greater!
The message in this song is that there is no other ground but God to really stand on,and that we need to keep fighting for Him and keep being on the right path,and that our lives our worthless without Him.

They are actually a pretty decent band. I couldnt take them before but this is good. I like this song the best.

@MMI4effinglife I think the highs sound good, and he did explain why he uses them in an interview, it's because it's easier for him to transition from singing to highs and back rather than lows.
@Blinkandairwavesfan you're right, in a way, i have to agree with you... their first album was sick and original, and i feel they're more generic now but then again, they've got a unique sound in which you can't really compare them to another band, just like "someday came suddenly"

@CaptainStabbin684 he does this sing so he can go from screaming directly into singing without damaging his vocal chords. seems worth it to keep this band to me.
Guitarist, bassist, and drummer are all originals. Also, Caleb played keys originally.
Sorry to say, this band will never be as popular as it used to be back when "someday came suddenly" first came out :( "OH THE BLOOD, OH THE BLOOD, OH THE MASSACRE!!"

If you listen to SCS and then the self titiled album w/ johnny's auto-tuned af vocals, & then take a listen to this...i don't see how anyone could say that they haven't made the right choices in the direction of sound that they've made. I have all three albums and listen to the first two respectively, but c'mon, this shit is just purely fucking sexy.
To everyone who says that every song sounds the same: You should probably get that bullshit out of your ears and start LISTENING. Not just hearing.

@methehaunted that's what got me, too, many of the songs sound very typical and repetitive, it makes me sad :( but they are who they are, and I'll stick with them and see if they change the next time they decide to produce an album.
Is it just me but it's seems like there breackdowns seem funkier and funkier!

Haters gonna hate, it's what they do. I actually am really surprised how much I like this album. Yes it's boring but it's brutal and each of them are decent musicians.
@FitzG33 The same dude (Caleb) that did all the screams in the last album! He switched up his screaming style so he can switch between screams and cleans and not destroy his voice!

I know everyone isn't the biggest attack attack fan but i actually dig this album a lot, there isn't any autotune or gay synth parts really in it and i think they have matured lyrically and musically as a band.

@CallMeIshmaelGuitar Brutal is just a term little kids use for heavy,but it doesn't matter what tunning they're in,at least theyre not using 6 string in that G# tuning. It's better to use it in 7 or else get a baritone.
this album is legit as fuck. i love old AA i love this. its like a dream come true. ive been yelling so much that my throat is bleeding!! smokahantus is still brilliant music in my opinion, but this is definitely great fucking music.
