Brenda Arteaga Because it's made clear by all the popular genres/bands that people don't like good music. They like absolute garbage.
Christian Natale It's always been my theory that the best bands often aren't as popular because of their complexity. Thus, simplistic music with it's only saving grace being a catchy hook reigns supreme, as it reaches a larger demographic. Moreover, those bands, or pop acts, don't even write their own shit. They just perform it--or rather lip-sync to tracks that are overproduced. Granted, there are some great pop artists out there, and in other sectors of main-stream, but one can't help but be cynical about it considering that the best bands don't get the recognition. In the end, it's because they do it for the love of the craft. Money can be poison in the well, so to speak. So maybe the fact that they are only so big among die-hard fans keeps the passion alive.

This band is so underrated it's not even funny, they deserve so much more credit.
It kills me that bands like I The Mighty and Hands like Houses only got what they did...quality ass music that shouldn't have been overlooked. They should be WAYYYY bigger than they are now

Fame should not be what bands strive for. They are looking to express their thoughts and feelings through their music in a way listeners connect to and enjoy. I would say they are "famous" to those who listen to them and have such strong connections with their songs.
