As a breast cancer patient and survivor this infuriates me. This isn't the first time I've seen the video of her doing this. I think the jury of her peers should have been all cancer patients and survivors. Pretty sure she wouldn't have just gotten a slap on the wrist. SMH. She really doesn't understand how much it hurts mentally, physically & emotionally. I will NEVER be the same! How dare her!
Like how she made this “apology” all about her. Full of BS, she should get life in prison for what she did. Have no sympathy for scams who fake having cancer

She wasn’t so kiddish when she was searching the Internet for other peoples bodies to use in her posts, or to look up which symptoms and procedures she should talk about and feign having. To think of poor young girls, looking to her for hope, watching her videos and asking her how she kept her beautiful hair and her responding with something like “conditioning…“. That hurts my heart. She’s old enough to know that faking something like this would not work in her favor or bring her family back together. At some point it would’ve been found out to be a lie. I’m not finding myself very sympathetic toward her. Edit: I don’t like to throw around the word, but if I were her I would be a little bit afraid of karma.
I seriously question Ms. Russo's claim that her faking cancer was an attempt to salvage her family unit: - A pretrial psych eval found that she wasn't suffering from any childhood trauma - Upon learning of her daughter's "diagnosis", Ms. Russo's mother offered multiple times to bring her dinner, accompany her to treatments or just stay with her, but all of these attempts were rebuffed - Why start a GoFundMe, etc. if she was only doing this to repair her fractured family? But despite her suspended sentence, at least that felony conviction will follow her around for the rest of her life.
oh have i got a story, these ppl are sociopaths, they don’t change.. their extremely smart but get careless, then their caught and move on to something else.. i have empathy for someone like this, they have no conscience or empathy in one bit of their soul.
I am in no way justifying her actions. She's very young and very naive. She has only just begun to learn from her mistakes. I am so very glad I did not grow up with social media. I made extremely bad decisions when i was young. Ended up in a juvenile detention center. I am thankful that my poor decisions were when I was young. I learned at a very young age I did not want to be in prison. I am very thankful that my poor decisions didn't end up on social media. I got my second chance and I made the best of it. She definitely deserves to have a second chance as well.
Um I really wanted to watch her statement IN FULL but when she said she thought by making this lie up it would then make her family into a normal functioning family I had to cut the video off I couldn't watch anymore

And funny you should mention "what she would do if you were going to divorce her"...about 25 years ago, a Massachusetts college student (Kristen Clougherty) claimed to have ovarian cancer, and countless donations were raised via charities, fundraisers, but it all turned out to be a hoax, and Ms. Clougherty was sentenced to probation/restitution/community service (the judge would've preferred to have her work with REAL cancer patients, but backed down when cancer organizations flat-out stated they wanted nothing to do with her, though she did dictate that any service Ms. Clougherty performed should require some type of physical labor). What happened to the donation $$$? Ms. Clougherty spent it on breast augmentation surgery, a new wardrobe, student loans, a Nissan Altima and several weekends at a Newport, RI luxury resort...the reason I bring up her story is b/c during her trial, the defense claimed that Ms. Clougherty's cancer hoax was an attempted "emotional blackmail" to keep her BF from dumping her, but spiraled out of control.
Even if it was to “fix” her family this is still so messed up what kind of evil person would fake having cancer and post all over social media to try and mend her family? This is despicable behavior and I wish she got jail time
