For me Rudinger is one of the best metal drummers out there. He's got unreal technique and time and always spot on clean.
This man is unbelievable the first time I had seen this I was blown away. He is doing multiple things at the same time. Definitely watch it more than 1 time and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Hannes Grossmann - Alter Magnitudes. Speed and precision.
Blows my mind that that whole track was written by guitarist Christian Muenzner. Grossmann wrote the lyrics on the unedited track itself.
I know Fredrik Thordendal wrote Meshuggah's Bleed and Haake wrote the lyrics to that also.

Rudinger is an absolute beast and highly sought after in tech death circles. I saw him live with the HAARP machine (UK) and The Faceless. The Faceless is one of my favorite death metal bands. Their first two albums (Akeldama and Planetary Duality) are among the best metal albums of their era. Highly recommend.
Alex is the current badass along with DAVID DIEAPOLD, SEBASTIAN LANCER, GEORGE KOLIAS., ALL ARE AT THE TOP OF THE DRUMMING WORLD.

Ps, this Xenochrist playthrough IS much more technically impressive from a drummers standpoint, but CCrusher is much more of a physical feat if that makes sense. (Regardless of triggers)
The problem with that Aaron kitcher video is that it was faked. Some parts were speed up and some parts were overdubbed mainly because Aaron programmes the drums for his albums. Triggers are not the problem; in fact , Alex's drums are triggered. Check out Spencer prewett's insane drum play through for something like C*ntcrusher but more real
To be fair to Alex- only his bass drum is triggered (a standard in the industry at this point), everything else is mics

I’m so happy you guys did this gem! The faceless is one of my favorite bands, they do such a great job incorporating medlody while at the same time having a grueling death metal sound. I’d recommend hearing the song All Dark Graves by them
One of my favourite drummers! So happy you've reacted to one of his videos! He's done work with Whitechapel too, toured with them in the recent past before Covid happened. Matt Greiner and Matt Halpern are ones you should check out too!

I can play this song on guitar and it's stuck in my head all the time. Love playing the solo.
It is common in metal that the kick drum is triggered. It’s important for that to be heard and in a live setting, the sound would be consistent. Triggering the toms or snare is debatable. Playing fast, intense, intricate drums over bombastic guitars and bass is challenging for the drummer to be audible. Even if you barely hit the drum depending on the sensitivity setting, the trigger will activate giving a full sound. I can see why that could be argued as cheating.
My fav thing with the original video is that he had to clarify that he wasn’t wearing a shirt with Hitler on

In the vein of The Faceless and extreme metal drumming, might I suggest checking out Lord Marco's yt channel. Any of the Hunhau Mitnal stuff will melt your face clean off. Like, if you think Aaron's gravity blasts are impressive... Marco must be a literal cyborg or something
Im a drummer ....get yourselves a kit each it's the best therapy ever! 🤘🤘🤘 I'm also an infant annihilator fan because of Aaron's technical abilities. This guy is great, his jazzy beats and cymbal work are brilliant no doubt, his bouble bass is fast and impressive, however, Aaron's speed, precision, off beats and timing are truelly magnificent especially in the breakdowns, truelly nasty stuff and for me the best drummer around by far. Love your videos guys keep them going! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘😡
The Faceless - Digging the Grave would definitely be an interesting one
You guys should check out one of Matt Halpern's (The drummer for Periphery) drum videos, he's pretty damn talented too and very impressive to watch

This is way more impressive. Alex is an absolute monster. Alex Rudinger, Matt Gartska (Animals As Leaders), Baard Kolstad (Leprous), Danny Carey (Tool), and Matt Halpern (Periphery) are probably the best Progressive Metal drummers out there. There are lots of great drummer in the genre, but the work that these 5 guys do are just magic to me.

Do yourselves a favour, next drum playthrough has to be Matt 'The Living Rudiment' Garstka playing 'Arithmophobia'. Notice the patterns and time signatures...if you can... Matt is the greatest drummer imo.
Michael Keane is a great guitarist. Drummer is pretty good. Check out Mark Arrington from Jeff Loomis. Tragedy and Harmony. Killer drum riffs.

I would say they're both equally impressive, just in different ways. Aaron is just INSANE when it comes to speed and precision but Alex got those FAT grooves along with technicality and major influence from different genres.
Aaron definitely isn't insane when it comes to precision, his stick heights are all over the place and every hit is a perfect rim shot because he has it triggered that way not because of any precision... that's not to say he's a bad drummer, he is just nowhere close to drummers like Alex Rudinger

It's an electric kit hes playing through a drum plug in.. he still has to play the drums to the song ..
Yeah, he can still clearly play the tunes, and it’s not like they’re using bots for the drumming, it’s like Lucas from ROS using a fret thing for his guitar to get rid of string noise ( or at least I think that’s what it is ). He’s not faking, he’s just making the experience better for listeners. There isn’t a problem with triggers, especially when you’re playing at such ridiculous speeds.

Alex Rudinger is 10 times the drummer than cuntcrushers performance. Alex is the most dedicated and tasteful drummer Ive ever heard.
He is evolution at its best.
Another you should check out is Sebastian Lancer, he is an extreme metal drummer that has the know how to play jass, rock, metal you name it n those two practice more than 10 hr days, so check both drummers out n you can thank me later.
There are soooo many awesome drummers out there you just have to look around for them.

Triggering isn't necessarily the problem with Aaron. The problem is that some of it is faked but for most to SEE it would be hard, mainly due to some of the speed of it. But there's one video in particular, if you slow it down just a bit, you can see that he doesn't have any consistency. A drummer reacted to a particular video from Aaron and quickly noticed that in some of the insane speedy double kicks that his feet actually began to hit at the same time instead of alternating, the beaters on the drum showed this too. But in the audio, it was still playing consistent single strokes. So in other words, it was... Basically faked.
As far as his drums being triggered. What could be called for as cheating, is that more than likely at those ridiculous speeds, he probably doesn't have much power behind each hit. So, in theory, if he didn't have those triggers, those blasts on the kick drum would sound more like fingers tapping on a table. Triggers bring uniform volume through a speaker, which most drummers in a live setting need or even in a recording. They aren't cheating, but they CAN make a less than drummer sound better than they are.
Alex is elite. Aaron has nothing on his playing. Travis Orbin taught Alex Rudinger if you're interested in someone even more crazy haha.
I'd still pick Chris Turner over Alex. Both beasts though.
@@leonel8831 I'd have to disagree. Alex is cleaner and just as able as Chris to play any OAA songs. Alex is more experienced and older too.
