More double board bombpot contents please! By far the most helpful contents on UA-cam so far. I would love to see more in depth analysis in combo counts, blocker effectiveness, and adjusting to opponents levels. Love from Australia
Ty so much for the comment and Ty for watching! I’ll put some more DBBP out!
7:00 - Considering you had position on him and you don't have a six to block random houses. I would lean towards folding there. Calling the river no matter what is fine in NLH, but not such a good idea in Omaha.
Correct call Prof...would have done it and will do again. Situational and in general no probs with that play imo.
Ty for the comment and Ty for watching
Thanks, Professor.
Playing a home game tomorrow, we play ROE PLO/PL08. One thing I've noticed from playing PL08 is you have to be a great deal more careful in your preflop card selection. As you need cards that are good at making a high and nut low hand.
Yes. I did a few videos on plo8 and big O.
In plo8 my general rule is 3/2; 3 to a wheel and two to broadway or two to broadway and 3 to a wheel!
@@ploprofessor Thanks, I didn't know you had a video on PLO8 👍
@@ploprofessor It was a bit of a roller coaster ride. I was way up, mainly because I have such a big edge when it comes to playing PL08. However, because just about everybody was stuck. We decided to switch to pot limit stud hi/lo. A game I know I have an even bigger edge on my opponents on. Albeit it's an even swingier game than PLO variants. I won a few decent size pots, with one of them being a result of having trip 10's as a starter hand and the other players missing their low, but one the guys who was stuck for a quite lot reloaded to a massive stack and was able to fish for a flush despite all the scary up cards I had, and was able to scoop a massive pot off of me. Wiping out all the gains I had for the night. An hour later I got felted when another player horribly sucked out on me. To the point where other fish at the table started berating him. Whereas I just smiled and laughed it off. After I stuck it all in with 4 diamonds with all cards being lower than an 8. So even though I got felted, if things had gone differently. I probably could have made a massive killing. One of my poker buddies did say I should have quit while I was ahead, but I told him he was being results orientated. If you're winning a lot and players are stuck and trying to get even. You shouldn't ever leave the table unless you need to be somewhere the following morning, because players are going to start chasing and trying to hit a home run on every hand.
@@Mitjitsu I’ve always told my wife and my student; if the game is good, I’m staying. If the game is bad, I’m leaving.
@@ploprofessor Like you pointed out the gaming conditions were too favourable. Plus when players are stuck and trying to get back to even. You generally want to be as accommodating as possible, and not give the impression you're trying to be protective of your winnings. That's not to say you shouldn't be more inclined to take a patient approach against them. As it's creating the conditions of turning a big win into a massive win.
I believe you mentioned a meetup in Vegas beginning of June - I'll definitely be in town. We can talk double board bomb pots and such - I've had a few in my vlogs so far if you want to take a look - Bart at CLP turned #4 into a training video. Let me know if you want to talk in private as well

I like your videos but the volume is too low. I use Bose frames and they usually work fine but I’ve got it turned all the way up and cannot hear you.
The KK39 hand, I think the 3 and 9 actually blocker some of V's wrap, when 2 ppl continue the flop raise, one of them can easily has 2 pairs+
For the hand analysis, I remember you stressing the importance of playing both boards, yet you had nothing for the bottom board yet called off. You can navigate through this due to multiway dynamics, position or something else?
I almost always fold in that spot.
All check raises or raises in general are for value or a bluff. I get your point his sizing looks value heavy but for some people using the wrong terminology is confusing.
Especially during a DBBP.
Generally speaking people will check raise a DBBP when they are super nutted on one board (usually nut str8 with redraws or nut flush or nut full house). Check raising to 370 was kind of a feeler check raise, but when he checks the river I know I’m good on at least one board so I bet pot! Position so important!
KK39 Hand, you elaborate on what the player would do with medicore hand on the river, but there was an intial bet on the flop for 50 (I don't know who was the intial raiser). A small bet like that a lot of time is someone has something drawing to a monster, which also will never make the nut. I call it Joke Bet, you called it Thin the River, i think the idea is the same. I will almost always make a big bet on the turn, regardless if I hit it or not when someone put out a joke bet. Then I can better analyze is how strong was that joke, I think you even knew it was a bad check on the turn, you missed out information you could had gain.
At your position, I would had probably called the bet and leaning toward they make the boat as well. This is the IT factor for this type of players tho, so he played his image right, there is no wrong in the play. It just seems ridiculous because of the result and 7/10 times your play probably on the correct side especially there was still another person in the pot. I think it just feels bad because you knew you could had got away with a 3/4 or 1/2 pot bet on the turn, but lost a full pot bet. Could had lost less, and that is what stick to your mind.
Couldn’t of said it better; had I bet 1/2 or 3/4 on turn I take the pot down and prevent an 800 loss.
At the time I believe I was stuck for 1800 or 2k (at one point was in the game for 5k), and I just felt; if I check the turn I’ll let that opponent bomb the river with a pot size bet and I’ll call no matter what and I honestly should be even for the night….. instead it backfired! I played this hand very similar to a tournament style instead of cash! I should of just taken it down on the turn!
the volume is so low
Fold
Professor. I know this may be the games you play and makes for good content but in a lot of the country we just play PLO. Not bomb pots or big O. Anyway this format you and Donk are doing is not what it originally was as a PLO vlog.
Variety is the spice of life! I will be posting more plo videos (in this one I did half and half). And I’ll continue the life of a grinder series - I know that doesn’t get as many watches but I think it’s important for people to see.
But I feel ya and appreciate the feedback! More content coming! 3 videos in 3 days is a lot!
@@ploprofessor i enjoy the PLO
double board but not the Big O, fwiw
@@jcw8955 I’ll start mixing them all together. It’s easier for editing purposes to have one theme of DBBP or just plo4 or just a big O - easier for people to follow when it’s all the same in one video. And this makes sense why some of my videos get 2k or 3k views and some get 500! I get it. Makes sense. I do appreciate the comment and the feedback! Will see what I can do to make things….. more translucent!
