- Alejandro Aranda is a singer/songwriter from Pomona, California. He began playing music at the age of 20, when he started singing and playing guitar in the street under the stage name Scarypoolparty.
A fan of punk and hardcore music, Alejandro recently sat down with Gibson in Los Angeles, CA to check out the brand new G-45 Standard from Gibson's new G-45 Series Collection.
The G-45 Standard builds on the revolutionary new G-45 series platform to provide the perfect mix of tone, performance, and traditional Gibson style for all players and every stage.
It is hand-built in our Bozeman, Montana factory using time-tested Gibson build techniques like hide-glued dovetail neck joints and domed top braces along with modern specs like slimmer body depths and Advanced Response neck profiles.
The G-45 Standard also features a gloss top finish, dense Richlite fingerboard, Soft Diamond inlays, and top and back binding. A solid Sitka spruce top and solid walnut back and sides deliver crisp sounds with plenty of wonderful overtones while a Fishman Sonitone pickup captures every nuance for easy plug-and-play at home, in the studio or on stage.

This was the best promotional video ever! Gibson could not have picked a better artist to represent them. Alejandro Aranda/Scarypoolparty is a virtuoso on guitar and piano. His beautiful music touches the soul and leaves you spellbound. He is a brilliant songwriter and also produces electronic music which is unreal. Fan for life. He is amazing live!

I agree with Carlos. Just because you like him and he's good doesnt make him a virtuoso. I like alejandros playing very much but its basic chord shapes with a multitude of hammer ons and pull offs.

"4 years" is probably about writing songs, playing guitar, performing where he could.... Before that, he already had classical piano foundation. In any case, I'm patiently waiting for the album.

I like what Alejandro was saying about how natural the guitar feels and the tone can inspire him to write more songs. I expected based on first seeing him in the thumbnail that it would be 90s style alternative-rock playing... but wow, was I wrong - he's a great player!
Check his Instagram or UA-cam (@ScaryPoolParty) page clips where he's playing keyboard and it's probably much closer to the style you were thinking that he'd play.
His playing and songwriting vibe on guitar is very different than his piano and synthesizer vibes. Either way he's insanely talented. Look up the song "Blesser" in particular and you'll see what I mean.
He also plays bass; he toured with a guy called Twin Shadow last year and you can see him in a few clips.

Woohoo! 2 years ago my husband & i bought our daughter a guitar for her 15th birthday, we didnt know much about guitars but wanted to giver her a great quality product. We let her sit & try several & after several guitars we heard a beautiful sound come from one in particular & we unanimously agreed on it- it was a Gibson! She recently made it to state & was part of the first all female ensemble in her schools history! When i hear her strumming her guitar in her room im always glad we bought that Gibson- she's no Alejandro but maybe one day😁🤞🏼

Guitar lessons are actually stuck in the past. Like Alejandro, people are better off learning on their own if they really want to master an instrument nowadays. Maybe lessons for the basics and fundamentals, but after that, it's better to just learn on your own. Less stressful that way too.
