    I rocked the zf with the Sigma 105 1.4 for 3 days on a congress using the original nikon accessory grip and I had no issues with hand strain or similiar issues. But i hold the whole setup by the lens to minimise strain on mount and me.

    Cameras should be held by the lens with your left hand. Index and thumb cupping your lens. This supports the lens, lens mount, high stability, and prevents hand fatigue.
    I personally liked this method b/c it made resting the camera on my chest or stomach an option while maintaining blood flow in my arm. I still had full use of my right hand.
    As someone who owned the Df, this was the best way to handle a camera for me without a pistol grip. Adding a grip will add more stability, so definitely get one if you can.

      Well… many lenses back then were manual so we needed to use left hand to adjust focus. Today, not so much.

      @TouchLifeStudio you don't think so with so many new controls now on lenses. I personally have more stability still using this method.

    I have been considering selling my Z7ii which I use for weddings and events for the Zf. I know the issues of autofocus challenges with DJ lights: I just shot a wedding on Friday night. The hit rate was not perfect, but I came away with ample usable shots. On the dance floor, I don’t worry as much if some are missed (in contrast to must-have “first kiss” etc.). Even so, I suspect the Zf would do better overall than Z7ii and I feel 24 mpx would be better.

    • @TouchLifeStudio
      @TouchLifeStudio  Місяць тому +1

      This is a hard decisions. I have used Z6II for weddings, probably similar AF as Z7II and I would say Zf is better. But like y it said you would be trading 45 MPX for 24 MPX. Not the end of the world but 45 is 45.
      My 2 cents, perhaps consider Z6III, which would give you 24 MPX plus better ergonomics than Zf. But yes Zf is a wonderful for many types of photography.

    Not clear if you were saying the zf was better at low light or the z9; 24 mp vs 48 mp and bigger megapixel re image or noise quality.

    • @TouchLifeStudio
      @TouchLifeStudio  2 місяці тому

      It appears that Zf is slightly better in low light when it comes to images quality, but I don’t have a scientific proof that’s the case. Just my assessment based on working on images in LR.

    Great Video !!! I shot a full wedding on a Fuji XT3 and now I have a Nikon ZF and this camera is way better !!! Also the 40mm F2 SE is also a great Lens for the ZF , very similar image quality to the 28mm SE. If your worried about a zoom lens being top heavy , I highly suggest the Tamron 28-75 2.8 G2 as a alternative . I have been able to get some fantastic images out of this lens. I even tested it against the 50mm 1.8 and you could not tell the difference without really pixel peeping . Your client wont be able to tell !!! Oh it has this pop that i truly love . Look at the Videos on UA-cam they can explain it way better than me .

    • @TouchLifeStudio
      @TouchLifeStudio  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, I can see that Zf and 40mm 2.8!is a great combo. What I found is that larger heavy lenses are generally not the best fit for Zf. I haven’t used the Tamron version of 28-75, but heard that it is lighter, so might be a good combo as well.

    You can actually get away with pure electronic silent shutter with minimal jello... I've been using this setting for almost a year now, preserves the mechanical shutter massively

    this is my dream camera, now i have z5 which i love all the images, except lowlight AF which i dont feel safe when shooting indoor lowlight scenes wkwk, z6ii AF also dont convince me to own that camera because the AF just slightly better than z5, but i hear and i see alot good review about this ZF especially about the AF,, but i dont like the ergonomic wkwk,,

      I understand the frustration with autofocus in low-light situations and how the Zf is a big change ergonomically.

    Isn't this Viltrox 27mm lens APS-C? How does it look in full frame?

    • @TouchLifeStudio
      @TouchLifeStudio  2 місяці тому

      When used on a full frame camera, 27 mm will have a 40.5 mm field of view. It’s a fantastic pro lens for a fraction of a cost. Highly recommend.

      There are options for how a DX lens works with the full frame body. Generally the viewfinder defaults to filling the viewfinder with the DX field of view. And you get the DX size image automatically. Something like 9mp.

    Would you recommend buying a z6ii for 2025? You might think that it is a stupid question but I am a z50 user and I really want to go to a FF camera that it is capable to do great video too, but I really don't like the ZF grip, and Z6iii is too expensive for me. What do you think? Or maybe wait for Z5ii. Sorry for my english, I'm argentinian jajaj

    • @TouchLifeStudio
      @TouchLifeStudio  2 місяці тому +2

      Hi my friend! Great question. This video with shot with Z6II. If you are familiar with my channel, I have been using Z6II for 2 years and absolutely love this camera for photo and video. Z6II is not 10-bit for video but that never bothered me because if you light your subject right, you will be good. Z6II has gone down in price significantly and you can get it used even for less.
      Z6III is certainly more advanced camera but if you are going from Z50 to Z6II or Z6III or even Zf, you will be very pleased.

    • @adamaufdencamp5080
      @adamaufdencamp5080 2 місяці тому

      I suggest you go to a store or track down some local photographers. Try out all these cameras yourself. In my opinion there is a big jump in autofocus in the Zf, Z6iii, and Z50ii vs Z6ii and Z50. But beyond autofocus, the image quality is very similar between the old and new similar models. I generally set a budget for a body, say it’s $1500. When a new camera is released that I like, I’ll simply wait until it drops into my range. So try comparing the models that interest you and buy what you like when the cost is in your budget.
      After over 20 years of owning digital cameras I currently own a Z50, Z6ii, and a Zf. The autofocus of the Zf is so much better, I’ve mostly retired the Z6ii and for sure the Z50. If I felt the need to have a new body, I might consider selling both the Z6ii and Z50 for a new Z50ii. The grip sounds improved. Autofocus similar to my Zf. And a compact form. And comparatively very affordable. Can’t emphasize enough that if you are ok with the Z50 autofocus you’d be perfectly happy with a Z6ii. But try a camera with the upgraded expeed processor before you spend your budget. Sometime around the D700/D750 bodies image quality hasn’t changed much. But the autofocus has improved tremendously in the expeed 7 mirrorless bodies.

    Another example of the downside of the fully articulating screen on the photography side. Zf deserves a tilt screen IMO, as a photo-first camera. Flippy screen makes sense on the Z6III to be fair, even though it's not my preference. Age-old debate I suppose. Regardless, I absolutely love the Zf, it's amazing. Great video as always!

    • @TouchLifeStudio
