    Mesa needs to stop demoing their own amps with Gibson folks. If I actually thought the Dual Rectumfier sounded like this, I wouldn't even ask to try it at the store.
    Same with my little Mark V 25. The Petrucci and Timmons demos absolutely sold me on that amp. The Boogie official demo made it sound like a Bassman with a tube screamer with a dead 9V.

      @Swampster70 I'm not sure that's possible as Gibson owns Mesa. What they should do is copy Marshall and bring out some studio size amps with all the features of the full-size amps retaining that needs sound at a lower wattage and hire artists that actually used Mesas on hit records.

    • @Swampster70
      @Swampster70 10 днів тому +3

      The intro to Dogman is Godly. Pure heavy tone. Just the right amount of gain to make it sound heavy but not too much to stop that punch.
      For me the "secret" to Mesa amps is not over gaining them. Let the punch drive the sound and hit the strings like you stole the damn guitar. Size your amp correctly so you can run gain below 12 but the volume nowhere close to off or 9 oclock. I've known too many people that buy the Triple Recto's and they spend most of the time below 9 oclock on the master and wonder why the amp isn't punchy. Gotta let that amazing power section work a little. Don't just use half the amp (rely on the preamp and then don't turn the power section up.)
      For decades I "liked" bigger amps because they were bigger. I remember trying a Sykes a like Mark III Colosseum and using the settings that John was said to use. The next town called and told me to turn it down. Then I wondered why Michael Schenker loved 50 watt Marshalls and Brian May played 30 watt Vox. So I tried smaller amps. Mind blown. My new all time favorite amp that's great for a band plays bars or clubs situations is the Mark V 25. High gain on channel 1, gain on 12 oclock, master at 2 to 3 oclock - that's eargasm lead tone territory. Those little EL84's give that cranked Marshall tone on that channel and for me it's like Schenker at Budokan tone.
      90 watts for this Recto is gonna be way way more than I'd ever need.

Would be this difficult to just put a heavy tone player for demo it? Honest point. Focus more on internal marketing.

      @@EM-km8em he has a UA-cam channel. And he's well-known for for being a big supporter of Gibson and Mesa boogie products, and was rather good at convincing the masses to buy their gear. He was an enormous supporter of theirs, and because he accidentally posted something online about someone being fired at Mesa, they cut all ties with him. (Even though he had worked with them for many years, and it seemed as though it was (as he says) and honest accident.) He took the post down almost immediately. Especially after they had contacted him and let them know that they weren't happy with the post and that they would like it to be taken down. Anyway most people know who he is. I'm actually really surprised you don't? But anyway yeah, he is a UA-camr, and mostly, it's just a matter of loyalty to me. People are too quick to cut each other off. If he would have left the post up and had been really disrespectful about it or something, I could understand, because that's unprofessional, but you typically don't get fired after one mistake. Especially when Mesa DID end up actually firing that person. As for the person who got fired, I don't remember his name. And honestly none of that is a concern of mine anyway. I would just hope things could be corrected. I just wish there was more loyalty nowadays.

      How much do people need to make? I am not anti-capitalism, this is how the market takes care of it's own. But when they act like a Dual Rectifier is up there with boutique amps, they have lost the plot. The reason they aren't made in the US is because of how much US citezenz their work hour. No one makes a living anymore. Now, people HAVE to get rich so they either pretend it takes $3,000.00 worth of parts and $500.00 worth of labor or just cross their fingers that "Made in California" is worth $2,000.00.

Just because its new does not mean its better then the original Rev G which this is closer to in tone. This has the serial effects loop and a clean channel like the Rev F but that is as close to the Rev F it gets. The high gain tones on this reissue are more like/towards the Rev G but more brighter in less organic way.
