Finally a true practitioner of authentic Bagua. I will definitely add these routines to my training drills. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.

So what is real Bagua. Please enlighten us. I am curious.

@@jbouse64 I am also curious. I've only been training for fifty years and I haven't seen it all. I think that had to be sarcasm.

Huge respect for not editing out the egg bit at the end! And thanks for all the great training ideas.

At the very beginning, I was like, "Get the heck outta here".
By the end, I was saying, "I gotta get outta here".
    Impressive training.

A good friend of mine did not practice bagua for years. One day he decided to show me some of those techniques of pushing and grabing with the fingertips. It was quite intimiating, even after not having practiced it for years...

These are really awesome. Many I couldn't do at first and one thing I've learned from helping a few other people lose weight over the years is to break exercises I can't do fully down into parts that I can do, do that until it is easy, and basically just keep steadily increasing pressure, force, or whatever until I can at least do a few the right way. Some of these I could do on the floor in a normal push up position, some I had to put my knees down for and some I couldn't do on the floor at all. So what i just started doing was doing it on a wall with my feet as far from the wall as I can handle and while standing on the tops of my toes. I can do all of the exercises this way and can increase/decrease the pressure/force based on how far my feet are from the wall and how high on my toes I stand. My plan is to do tons of reps and do it that way until it is easy, then add resistance with resistance bands, then get to the point where I can do it on the floor like you did here.

Very important and fundamental, but real and dude even the music is badass , conditions and everything basic is a must for this to start working or else you gonna embarrassing yourself, Chinese martial arts are different,it takes hard work and time even for the first forms to work correctly and also to be able to apply them in real fight! People are learning many forms and think they are able to make them work magically and reality shows their illusions doesn't work, sometimes in hard way ,so make sure you have the condition and basics on some good level before you start to learn forms, all life is not enough you train to the end and still have so much to learn,be humble!

Nice, brother. I've started doing bagua with heavy shotputs. My sitaigung walked the circle with a 20 lb stone ball to develop root for pushing against Yang Chengfu specifically. 🙏 It's great to see strong body players!

No, you don't strike with your fingers. You strike with you palm. You only need your fingers to scratch the eyes of your opponent a little or your fingers will break. Finger bones can never hit the head bone. Keep your fingers relaxed and just focus on your palm.

My own Sifu used to make the point that to do these arts at a high level, a practitioner MUST have a strong, flexible body. I typically do 2x basic training (strength and flexibility) for 1x forms practice. So when I spend three hours doing continuous forms practice in a normal day, how many hours do I spend on basics to support that?

Start slow as finger ligaments take a long time to adjust. Rock climbers can attest

Actually, finger tip push-ups are useless for the stated purpose. The speed of force loading is entirely too slow and the force curve is static. Nothing at all like what your fingers experience during high speed impact. S.A.I.D. is a "law" and not a theory. Ozzy Osbourne is awesome, "Iron Man" ... I remember.

Pushing with your fingertips slowly can help you control your finger's compression, perhaps you've never practiced it so don't understand.
