@@TheDailyDIYer Why do you like to use the chalk paint rather than a simple acrylic? I'm just getting started in painting and have only used the acrylic with so-so results. What are the benefits of the chalk?
Hi You've done sanding with only 80 grit paper which will keep wood a bit rough... is that in purpose? Don't you need to smooth it with a finer grit like 220? Thanks
I haven't used 631, I have it but haven't tried it yet. I like the stencil film better though, just because it's see through so it's easier to place. It does a great job at preventing bleeds though :)
Try using a lint free rag about 10 mins after staining and wipe away any extra stain. Always use a stain pretreatment too - for even absorption of stain. This way you can lighten the end result:)
I do, but I've been so swamped with orders that the Oramask goes much quicker. I still recommend the contact paper if you are just making things for yourself or gifts. The Oramask is much pricier but saves me time, which I need right now.
I was wondering when you use oramask or contact paper do you get a sticky residue on the board when you use chalk paint? I have found that I get it every time and the when you touch the board it looks dirty. Do you have any suggestions?
I've had that happen before, and I'm not sure why it happens sometimes and not others. If it does happen add a coat or two of clear matte varnish over the top and it will cover that sticky up before it gets dusty and looks "dirty."
Lovely sign. Letters came out so crisp! Do you find that this stencil film that you used works better than the contact shelf liner that you sometimes use? I find myself sealing everything I do with the minwax sealer so the letters don't bleed - I never want to take that chance. But this film worked out so well for you!
The Daily DIYer excellent, i will look that up. I am considering getting a Silhouette Cameo to start doing this. I can think of a million things I would like to do on it. I really need another hobby. I quilt, do stained glass, home Dec sewing, I've even painted my countertops!! You've been very inspiring!
I loved this video! Thank you so much. When did you start using oramask? Would you be willing to do a video comparing this to the magic cover From Walmart?
I started using the oramask maybe 3 months ago. It has saved me a lot of time, which I'm running low on. Especially this time of the year before the holidays. I do hope to do a comparison video on the two because there are pros and cons to both.
Just found your channel and have been watching like crazy!!! Do you have any suggestions for someone wanting to try painting with stencil for the first time? Also did you make the design yourself for this sign can it be purchased? If not would you please share the fonts you used? Thank you! Off to watching more videos!!
Nice sign! I love the idea of using chalk paint for sign making, especially since I'm looking to do just that with pallet wood. Do you use any type of sealer after you apply the chalk paint to the stained board?
So beautiful. I'm sure that the family that receives this will have it proudly displayed in their home.
+Maureen Riley I hope it was well received. ❤️ Thanks Maureen!
Awesome video! I was wondering do you have a svg file for this design?
It NEVER gets boring. love it and your craft👍💗💗
+Jasmine Gomez-Zavala 😄❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thanks
It’s really not that rough. Sands down smooth enough for me.
I like it.
Thank you!
What is the difference between a vinyl stencil and oramask?
You can use Oracal 631 too :)
The Daily DIYer would you say oramask is better at preventing bleeding?

Yes, I'm off to add it now actually!

+Raspberries Summer You can have wood cut for free at Home Depot or Lowes :)
Seems like when I use the Jacobean Stain my wood looks so dark. But here its lighter... do you think the stain lightens after its dry

Do u seal afterwards
Shannon another beautiful sign as always. I just love your videos so much.

+L Brown Lots of bubble wrap, packing paper, and even more tape 😄

+Rose Amador I do think the Oramask helps a lot with that!! I don't like how it breaks when I go to peel it off though. So pros and cons
Hello I just love your work beautiful I'm interested in making a sign where do I get the vinyl and how do you make the letters in the vinyl
+Evelyn Terry Hi! I get my vinyl from store supply warehouse and use a Silhouette Cameo to make the designs 😄
LOVE LOVE LOVE THANK YOU FOR SHARING
Beautiful ❤️
Thank you!
Great Video! Could you have used the contact paper for this?
I am in love with these signs! Do you have a tutorial on how to use the Silhouette and the different vinyl peel away products?
I think I have watched one that she did.
+Linda Hester I have a tutorial on using the contact paper for stencils 😀

I love all your videos. What font did you use for the words Lord and Amen? Thank you for all your inspirations.
I wish I could tell you but I have that design welded together so I'm not sure what the font is.
The Daily DIYer aww ok thank you for getting back to me
Loved watching this video!
+Mama's Time Thank you!!
Love that saying. Looks great. Did you seal it over the lettering?
+Andi Kennedy I don't usually seal anything that is for the inside. I do for outside signs though.
